Maybe "once a cheater, always a cheater" isn't necessarily true. Like, i can believe someone can regret it and decide to never do it again. However, once a cheater, always untrustworthy. You can never be trusted, despite how much you say you would never cheat again. That's the point. Once you cheat, it should be assumed that you will do it again. You may not always BE a cheater, but you should always be regarded as such. And it would 100% be your fault, and your fault alone.

Honestly, sounds like neither of them actually even loved each other. It sounds like they only stood with each other b/c they were comfortable with each other (& not in a good way). OP should’ve just officially broke up with him, then went out & fucked her coworker, but instead she decided to stay in the relationship then cheat… like ohhkay???

Eh I absolutely hate cheaters but I’d also 100% believe that she’s single. This guy has also jerked her around for years and only seems to get better right when the lease is up and once she’s stuck he went back to being a jerk. She should’ve left a lot longer ago

It's wildl that her self esteem is so low that she blames herself for the end of the relationship. The POS lied to her, emotionally manipulated and emotionally abused her for years. Y'all have to stop treating fault in a relationship as if it's a zero sum game where whoever does the worst act it becomes 100% - 0% that persons fault. Yes she was wrong for cheating but he preyed upon her insecurities for YEARS! Lying and manipulating and financially abusing her just to keep her around so he could have a roommate, when he could have just went a gottena platonic roommate at any point. Easiest ESH ever.
