I work away from home for up to two months at a time. My wife is good enough to top up the ATO. I have a Mastertronic testing once a week and other reef factory kit keeping me up to date with temperature, pH etc. I opted not to use an APEX as I am scared of a single point failure. Enjoy Hawaii!

Yeah I worried about that when I decided to put them all in the back, but I think running them on reef crest mode, which randomly varies the flow a lot from moment to moment and pump to pump generates some interesting flow patterns. Time will tell, but I am seeing good movement on the sps polyps. Obviously you can get more variable flow of some of the powerheads are on the side, but I am taking this calculated risk with the idea that 4 mp40 are already overpowered for my tank so having them in a suboptimal configuration shouldn’t be too much of a problem
