Dope content, as usual. I was actually looking for a new pair of monitors for my production hub and couldn't make my mind up. Im currently using a pair of Presonus Eris E5 in my production hub and a pair of genelec 8030c for my main studio (both giving 2 different sounds). Genelec being flatter and super crisp (love it, used to the sound). Presonus (flat but too much bass) sounds more like home theatre speakers (imo). I was looking at the Yamaha hs5 & Adam Audio T5V to replace my presonus E5's. Have you ever heard of the Adam Audio T5V? or heard them in action? If so, how would you rate them against the Yamaha HS5's? Thanks again for all of your hard work and input, please keep up the good work. PEACE!
Thanks! I haven't heard those unfortunately so I can only comment on the 3 mentioned in the video, maybe try them out from somewhere that accepts returns
Hi, Thank you very much for your video. It was very helpful! My question is, if the Alpha 65 Evo would be good enough with a pair of headphones as second reference, an acoustically treated room and sonarworks for producing, mixing and mastering all kind of music, without needing a second monitor reference, and how fast and well they translate by your experience and how your workflow is with Yamaha Hs 5 and Focal?!!
If I had to choose just one monitor it would be the Alpha 65 Evos hands down. The HS5s are a luxury add on but not necessary, once your ears get used to the Focals you'll be set. If you purchase I'd super appreciate you using my links
@@JacobDarkOfficial Thank you very much again for the answer. I would do so, if your link would go to Thomann too, because I live in Europe and it's where I plan to buy it.
The Focal Evo 50 sound huge by comparison with the KRK 5 G4. I just worked with a class a engineer who told me the KRK’s are a steal for the money. For mixing I think the KRK’s are more neutral. But the Focal’s are far more flattering.
I had krk rokit 8 I sold them for iloud ik multimedia I had better mixes quicker just need a sub but now I'm looking at the focal Evo the rokits had an exaggerated low end and no matter my room treatment sucked honestly I have them a try 2 times and no and I make hiop hop it's Un natural sound is so annoying since I would monitor with krk and then go to my car or other speakers a normal consumer would use and honestly I had to go remix everything multiple times with the iloud it's quick mixing and from what I hear the focal evos are the way to go Dave your money
Krk have an exaggerating low end and lacks highs to the ordinal source I had the krk 8 and had to sell them I had got small I loud ik multimedia which are comparable to the genelics and are great monitors small but all you need is a a good sub from Yamaha
I have been testing the 65 evo and the 50 evo.. they can be played very low but the 50s are clearer at very low volumes as the sub bass doesnt mess with the other signals.. the 50s have great bass... easy to keep the volumes low on the 50s... btw they dont have volume controls at all..so your audio interface will adjust them or your pc volume... I had the yamaha hs5 for over 10 years and they hardly have any bass and no worries about neighbors because of that and mixes came out well too... but these focals sound soooo much nicer...
