Mark, that last email he wrote that he claims was "In the morning after a night of partying", please check the timestamp. If this timestamp doesn't match "morning hours" for a US citizen then maybe fake ken is not from US. It could be a clue.

It's not a Russian accent, not traditional one at least. It's actually quite easy to work out nationality when you have bulk text to go through as grammatical mistakes are very consistent identifiers.

Mark, that's not his IP address from the email headers. That's of the sending mail server, and at 20:08, it's just a random Google server in the rough location, which may or may not be correct if they're using a VPN, which they almost certainly are. You won't get the IP address from the email headers unless a server at his location is being used, which it isn't.

Chances of a coward turning up = 0, but nice work cornering him and the authorities are alert. It is amazing how many scams are running at the moment, as you said, if you cannot see it, touch it and shake someone's hand, walk away. I had to put down a deposit on a car I recently bought and did not breath a sigh of relief until I turned up and saw it and they gave me the keys and said take it for a spin. Old School.

This is sickening. It really is. As a man, if you have a problem with another you handle that shit without mentioning family. I would end him if I had a wife and daughter and I was in the same situation. Then again, that's not the right thing to do, but indirectly threatening a young child and a wife like that, I totally would. Also it's effed how the police are only there to do the clean up after something terrible happens. They never try to stop it from happening. So that's just another big L towards the police, unfortunately that's a world wide theme... The police don't serve us as they are meant to. That's a real shame for everyone.

not really, hes found an IP in a header, it doesn't help at all really, and you can't find IP info from insta or LinkedIn etc. He'd have to try and match the names of the accounts, but again it give shim nothing, It sounded impressive, the reality is it gets them nowhere.

Well done Mark, the correct authorities are involved, the fact you have had his whole site shut down suggests to me that there is more going on in the background. If I was the scammer I would be looking over my shoulder right now. You’re a very clever man Mark and when a mans family are threatened we will do everything in our power to protect them. The whole "I know where Jayne does groceries" part has to be a clue. I've never met anyone that says "does groceries", at least in the US. 'Buys groceries', 'gets groceries', or 'shops for groceries' would make way more sense to most folks in the US, in my opinion. Is the phrase "does groceries" or "do groceries" common in another part of the world? May not mean much, but good investigators use any little detail like that to get even a millimeter closer to finding the offender. I'll be following this story very closely for sure!

sounds US based to me, the fact hes used the word groceries is very US, people in the uk or Europe wouldn't use that word these days.

In North west of England we would phrase it as "gone shopping" or "where she shops", "where she does her shopping" "Does groceries" sounds U.S. to me first time I heard it.
