The Reason Piccolo "talks to himself" is because at this point in DBZ, he had fused with both Nail AND Kami. In DBZ:A, the personalities of Nail and Kami are still inside of Piccolo and he talks to them and they to him, to hilarious effect in most cases.

Picalo wasn’t talking to himself, he was either talking to Kami, or Nail. Two other Namekians who he fused with to become stronger. Well.......Kami was more of like his good side that he split up with during Dragonball. But that requires a more in-depth explanation.......

(Her plan from an earlier episode when he awoken from his heart attack induced nap/coma.) 2. ) " Piccolo talking to himself " To quote Vegeta on Randy's outlook: " Well, you're *half* right. " Piccolo was desperately lonely, to a point where he only saved Gohan becakse Goku offered to friend him on Myspace (yes, the show is THAT old). On Namek to save him from loneliness and to save Nail from death, they used the forbidden fusion technique and Nail ended up in his mind for eternity. Kami joined in later when Cell arrived. So they're both inside of his mind. And at that point, they were telling him to make friends with Trunks, who was still reeling from his moments with Vegeta's moronic ways. 3. ) " Dende, no... " In the earlier episodes of the Namek Saga, Dende's only friend and person to talk to was Gohan. Leaving him to end up dubbing Gohan ' the only one he can talk to ' and even telling him he loved him in Episode 30 part 3 when Goku refused to come home. But because he said it too soon, he took everyone to new Namek out of embarassment for saying it too soon. 4. ) " Used to Goku's disappearing. " Ever since he came back from Yardrat and learned how to teleport. (He got it from eating sick aliens) Goku has been using it to get here and there verses flying around. So everyone obviously got used to it with time over the course of three years. 5. ) " No... Super Kami Dende. " A moment from the Namek Saga (just before the Ginyu Force arrived). Krillin had met Guru and talked to him about getting the Dragon Ball to prevent Freeza from using it. This exchange happened in front of Dende. Guru : " Wait. You said you were from Earth, correct? " Krillin : " Yeah. . .? " Guru : " So. . . the son of Katat has passed. Unfortunate. " Krillin : " We just called him ' Kami ' . " Guru : " Oh ! So he calls himself ' God ' , pretentious prick ! I can only assume “Gritz” is slang for “Hot Sand”. [Sand has Grit. A coarse Grit sand has bigger particles of sand, whereas a fine grit sand has smaller particles. Piccolo is not talking to himself, he's talking to Kami and Nail because he fused with them at some point. In fact u'll notice that Piccolo is talking with 1 voice in his head on Namek from when he absorbs Nail and then, after he fuses with Kami during the Android saga, he'll talk with 2 voices inside his head (Kami and Nail). So go watch the TFS series from the beginning, you'll then be able to get who he's talking to everytime :)
