I expected more from that GT 1030. And then I remembered they made a DDR4 version of that card, which cut performance in half.

That's probably the ddr4 version of the gt1030 as I've used the gddr5 model before and the GTA and Fortnite performance was more than double in my experience

Probably an OptiPlex 3010. I got one off eBay for $110 shipped four years ago with an i5 and 16gb ram. Held up with a 750ti then an rx 580 pretty well (after power supply upgrade). The 7010 and 790 was when Dell switched to the proprietary PSU connector.

I think the best compliment I can give this channel is that even if I wasn't a tech enthusiast, I'd still be watching. It's very rare that I watch one of Dawid's vids and don't at least get an audible chuckle or two if not an outright laugh. Keep em coming!

The lack of bloatware is pretty good for a dell. Even on high end stuff like my XPS 15, I have to wipe the SSD and reinstall windows right out of the box.

Dawid, I work at a small company and I got tasked with buying 9 new PCs for us, but On a budget. No joke I bought 9 of these exact PCs (without the rgb mirror) for 169 each. It was like 1500usd after taxes for 9 of them.

As someone who has built quite a few optiplex gaming pcs and sold them at bargain prices to people I know, I really want to build one of these now with that infinity mirror just for a laugh. It's so ridiculous I love it.

The 1030 is hit or miss, as they have the DDR4 version floating around. Great video David , that certainly is a sexy optiplex Based on those benchmarks , I would definitely check if it's the ddr4 version.

I really think those Optiplex PCs are amazing value.

The way that's performing, that's got to be the ddr4 version of the 1030... I played through GTA V with an i5 2400 and a gt1030 gddr5 version (and yes it was an optiplex... Sff lol), and I got 60fps at 1080p normal, and it got even better when I upgraded the CPU to a xeon e3 1230.

Oh god these things are so hard to covert to a sleeper. I did it for an optiplex 7010 with an asrock b450m steel legend and a Vega 56 and the front panel headers are very proprietary (especially the usb2/audio header), there are pin outs on forums but be prepared for front panel audio to not work. You also need either a dremel or a sacrificial screw and a lot of force because the hard drive cage is part of the case. You can actually attach a 120mm fan/AIO in the front with 2 screws once the hard drive cage is removed, so I’m very much looking forward to how the next video will look

don't need to replace the mb. Upgrade the power supply and video card (may need to remove the drive cage like I did). reduce e-waste! Maybe even get an i7-3770

Gas Stations here in the US can have great food. The best tasting cuban in my town (so far) is from a gas station deli.

Sandy and ivy bridge were really where that style of optiplex MT got it’s start. Before this is the LGA 775 based optiplex 780 which have the black plastic front panels sandwiched between 2 storm grey side panels. 2nd and 3rd gen intel use the same socket of course, so the relatively free of proprietary garbage design was maintained until Haswell came around. Those 4th gen machines look almost identical externally, but make the move to dells weird dumpster juice psu connectors.

Omg my mom got me those headphones and they where actually ok sounding not amazing lol not bad for like 20 bucks though after a year I ended up taking them apart and using the red leds inside to make a Christmas decorations lol.......

I would be interested to see how well you could upgrade this system. One of the reasons I started building my own systems was that Gateway, Hewlett Packard, and Dell all starting doing non-upgradable stuff...yea, that was a really long time ago.(and many builds)

The 3rd gen Intel CPUs really were something =). Just drop a 1660Ti and 32 Gb RAM and it's perfectly fine =).

The GT 1030 is being bottlenecked like crazy. If you could put that UHD 770 IGP on a 3470, you'd see what I mean.

Triassic period Graphics port ouch. The stuck on RGB covering the optical drive bays, looks like an early LCD tV screen.

The RGBs on the headset definitely baffled me the most. That and the two sticks of RAM.

Dawd, Thanks for the video. I always enjoy your content. However, ... I think calling it a scam computer does it a disservice. It looks, to me, to be a responsibly upcycled PC. Contrary to your sarcasm, used PC upcycling is still a relevant thing. There really is no need for a student to struggle with the horribly cheep Chromebooks that schools loan out. Not when a used PC can and will do the job better at a very reasonable price. E waste aside, it is the perfect PC for a fourteen - sixteen year old. It will do the task, play some game and look kool enough for them to feel good owning it. love the review. Remember kids, be humble, be respectful, and own your dignity like you can afford to share it.

My guess is that the Optiplex originally had a 2nd gen Intel CPU in it and the seller upgraded it to a 3rd gen CPU. All of the Optiplexes I’ve owned have USB 3.0 with the 3rd gen CPUs and USB 2.0 and VGA with 2nd gen CPUs. That’s my guess as an ancient Dell Optiplex aficionado.

I love using Optiplex 390s as a starting point. I5-2400 is solid for a budget rig starting point. Downside is 1333Mhz max RAM speed and sata 2 ports on the motherboard. 2.5" Sata SSDs will still get around 280Mbps speeds. This is back when OEM weren't always trying to screw us with proprietary stuff.

This would be a really fun buy if it was really cheap. (I have a feeling Dawid probably paid like ten times what it's worth)

I love that they covered the whole case in "stickers" to hide its flaws. Seems like a waste of money and time. They should have just put the system in a custom case like the other budget gaming PC scammers like to do.
