Yeah. The Halo video is a big deal for a lot of reasons. Not just aurally stupendous, the emotional impact delivered by Scott's tag at the end says so much about VoicePlay as a group. These guys put their hearts into their work, in so many myriad ways; their hearts are such a big part of why I love this group so very, very much.
If you scroll down, you will see a comment from Marty O'Donnell, the composer. He loved it. He also did a reaction with The Charismatic Voice/Elizabeth Zharoff. In that he tells us that he did that aboriginal sounding section. Thank you for watching the outro, lots of reactors did not. It says so much about Voiceplay as artists and as friends. By the way, Scott was their original beatboxer, when he left for Hollywood, Layne moved in.
Wow... that is amazing!! No wonder I recognized his name. It's always amazing and fulfilling when the original composer compliments you about your version of their work. And more reactors should pay attention to that outro, it's so lovely!!😍🫶
Scott Porter was VoicePlay's (4:2:Five) first beatboxer until he left for an acting career. He's in Friday Night Lights, was in Lucifer 6th season and been in quite a number of series. Layne opted to switch from baritone to beatboxer, Geoff helped until Layne was up to speed and ran away with it becoming one of the best vocal percussionists around. I love that Scott came back to honor Rek along with the rest of VoicePlay. Rek can be seen in Boy Bands in 5 Minutes taking a sub sandwich to the guys around the trash can. The Charismatic Voice aka Elizabeth did a reaction/analysis of this with Marty O'Donnell the composer for the Halo Theme. He was blown away and thrilled with what they did.
That right there is a sustained B0. I believe someone posted that at the time it was the lowest sung note recorded on RU-vid (I can’t think that would be verifiable, but OK). Anyway, Geoff himself has now gone lower since. Eli belted one of his highest notes here as well. In the original you do hear the solo Cesar sang, but it’s very subtle. I love that they brought it out, and he sounded fantastic. I’m not sure it’s a language-might be just sounds. Someone will probably clarify. I like it, though. I don’t think Voiceplay ever clarified but Rek died of Covid. So unnecessary and so heartbreaking. @CharismaticVoice also did an analysis-WITH Marty O’Donnell, the guy who created this piece. His comments are wonderful. I keep hoping that when he composes another epic piece for a game, he’ll bring in Voiceplay. Imagine! Rek also appeared in the Boy Bands in 5 Minutes video. ❤❤ Great reaction!!
This is the first video Geoff went down to a B0. Scott Porter is their original beatboxer. When he left in 2003 for a very successful acting career Layne took over. Rek can be seen in Boy Bands In 5 Minutes giving Earl a sub. He passed shortly after of covid.
Apparently Geoff taught Layne how to beatbox and then Layne took it to a whole new level! Both the cover and the message were super powerful! Just one of the many reasons to love Voiceplay! ✌️❤️🎙️
Thank you for watching their message at the end. It always moves me deeply, and I always find this music video to be bittersweet because of it. The music is incredible, and the reason behind it is powerful.
It's know that Geoff sing his lowest note "B0" in the beginning and ending. There's another trivias; just read the credits and comments on the original VP video
They have two songs without words: "Halo" and "In the Hall of the Mountain King" - both incredible. This song shows 1) their incredible talent and 2) the wonderful people that they are Geoff hit a B0 (as he did in Valhalla calling) here for the first time. Hope you will do more Voiceplay - they are just worth the effort! PS: If you like this - try The Dragonborn comes (Skyrim) - their gaming stuff is next level 🌹🕊
Thank you for the great reaction, I saw it hit you like it did me, the first time I heard it - especially that outro! It tells you a lot about the kind of folks they are, which is why we love them! Yes - Pattycake Productions have many amazing videos, their 'Villains' Lair' series is wonderful, my favourite is 'Bump In The Night' - they excelled themselves on that one, great original music (sung by Tony, ex-VP baritone and co-owner of Pattycake with Layne!)
Nice reaction! Every time your mouth closed, within a few seconds it would fall open again. And the tribute at the end always chokes me up. Rek died of Covid, I believe. He was undoubtedly an amazing guy.
Oh, do check out Pattycake Productions stuff. Layne and Tony wrote the songs, and the production values are through the roof. They’re funny too (Frolo tends to get the best lines - “What’s the world coming to when you can’t trust a villain”).
You know, if you want your beard to look fuller and thicker, you can use a clipper with a guard on it and just trim it down a bit, then neaten up the edges with a razor (just a little so it has a nice crisp line).
Thank you for another priceless reaction to Voice Play. Your expressions say it all. Thank you for playing till the end of the credits rolling. So many reactors stop too soon & miss it. As with all Voice Play & Geoff's videos please continue to do the same. Have you done Voice Plays cover of The Dragonborn Come Skyrim yet ? If not please give us another great reaction to it.
You are so welcome!! That's crazy how other reactors haven't stayed for the message, I'm so glad I watched it, I almost teared up. The Dragonborn Comes is on my list and I will react to it eventually!
@@mattofficialstudios I beg you please please do a reaction video to Voice Plays older original songs 😅titled .. Voice Play / one minute musical : Miley ( Miley Cyrus ).. The music & lyrics are by Geoff Castallucci & it is hilarious. Also Voice Play / one minute musical : Light Bulb. The music & lyrics are by Eli the bald high tenor. Both of these were done in 2015. I have been requesting these two songs for all the other reactors to do for about 2 years now & none of them have done them . Should you do them you would be the first. Because they are short you could do them both in one video. You can find them by going into their page.
