'If you can choose a card with random effects, you have to pick it' would definitely be a spicy restriction if you did this again. The chaos tendrils created some great moments.
it absolutely helps that rarran's helpless hysterical laughter is probably the best out there and day9 publicly admitted he needs to feed off of that kind of thing to be funny
Day9 & Rarran work so well, cause they both manage to find fun in the brainrot hs has turned into like we all do. Without the unnecessary pro player attitude, without the aim for skilled plays or value, just pure fun.
@@earth2saka Also sometimes you just get lucky. When my little brother was around 6-8, I tried to convince him I was psychic, so I called out a roll of the die 4 times in a row with 6s. I obviously didn't expect it to happen, but it did. I just kept saying "oh you don't believe me, guess I have do to it again then"
Day9 is an incredible performer, and he knows how to make luck based content memorable, which is extremely impressive. His calls are not that outlandish though. He only explicitly called 2 of those draws. Before, he only implied that he'd survive, therefore that he wouldn't draw 2 bombs in a row. The 2 draws in question were still impressive, but absolutely feasible (as other comments in the thread stated, he likes to call unlikely shots) If he believed Rarrans counting of the bombs, there would be 3 left in a deck of about 10 cards. Calling that the next card you draw is no bomb has therefore a 70% chance of being correct, and the card after that being a bomb has a 33% chance of being correct, in total that'd be around a 23% chance. It is unlikely, yes, but since he only celebrates victories, and doesn't mourn losses, it is very easy for the audience to perceive the correct calls, and glaze over the false ones. A few minutes later he offhandedly calls out which totem he's going to get, gets it wrong, and brushes past it, if he had gotten it right, he would have given the camera a satisfied smile, and the audience would be going wild. Like this it was simply not as memorable, thus people very quickly forget. It is his job to entertain, and get the audience engaged (all of us reading/writing a way too lengthy comment about that kinda proves that he's very talented at that). He had a 23% chance to make an incredibly engaging moment, so he took it. He tried to continue the bit a little later, and failed, but he handled it so expertly that no one even noticed. I hope that roughly explained the 'how does he do that' question. Tl;Dr: Theatrics > Prophecies
Seriously one of the most fun videos I’ve ever watched in a while. Seeing two great players just durdle around and have a fun time. A+ content. Next time you guys should do this with Fallen Empires packs in MTG.
"All content and news and information will be fake within the next 10 years for sure, so I may as well be considered a thought leader" This is why I watch Day9.
How about, the draft ends after 27 cards, and each player gets to put in 3 cards of their choice, applying some restrictions, like only non-legendary cards?
@@Kantilvih Day9's chat has whatever is the listening equivalent of being illiterate. They hear the words but completely misunderstand everything he tries to say EVERY time.
Watched Rarran's side for the nemesis draft then had you both up on different monitors while you duked it out. Such a fun, friendly rivalry kind of format!
First of all: You guys are amazing! No second of all: I started balding when I was 18 and I am 28 right now and the top of my head has barely any hairs left, which makes it look rediculous whenever I refuse to sheer my head for a few weeks simply because I wanna see my haircolour again. :3 Maybe last of all: Thanks, you look amazing as well. Even though you dont need any of us to tell you, I am sure. :D
after watching day9's draft i have a feeling rarran might be able to win in fatigue somehow. adding cards to deck and healing. it's so hard to know what wins with intentionally bad lists though. can't wait to watch rarran's draft... welp, elite tuaren shows up and steals the show lol
I was rolling with laughter watching Roffle play Sandwich Warrior and declaring it to actually be a pretty good deck. It's okay Day9. You've been away for a long time. Skill issues are to be expected. At least you're cooking so hard that even Blizzard has acknowledged your power. Edited to add: Elise, Badlands Savior is probably the worst highlander legendary ever printed. Even without duplicates, I'm not sure it's even enough tempo in a draft to be worth running.
Will you ever go back to Spell-Slingers MTG series? I really enjoyed that series and it was hilarious with you interactions and the wheel of mana randomness to choose your deck.
Not sure if it would be good content, but mirror burgle rogue with no burn is a blast to play against friends. It's pretty much who can generate good cards from other classes and use them first.
