I CRASHED MY TESLA AT THE NÜRBURGRING ... ALMOST

I was very lucky to come out alive and unharmed out of this big slide at the Nürburgring. But definitely a code brown! The car was fine to, even though we missed the barrier by less than 1 meter. Yoke was no problem as I controlled it at the end to steer away from the barrier.
Some may wonder about active safety features, but in track mode, they are almost all disabled. Still only a tiny bit of traction control left. So, of course this was driver error and not the fault of Tesla, let alone Autopilot as some even suggest #facepalm

Common mistake the guy was still on the brake while entering the corner best is to brake then when going into that exact corner to just give it 20-30 percent throttle and youre all good..otherwise your car will spin out like this.

Yup, definitely don't want to brake thru here because of the elevation change at high speed, the front & rear are flip flopping which has dominant grip, so it's going back & forth between under & oversteer as is Counter steering off all pedals is not unusual on this corner, staying in the brakes even slightly can exaggerate the issues the suspension deals with
@ScorpioHR
@ScorpioHR 8 месяцев назад
A common misconception is if you want more rotation, you turn the wheel more. But it's the brakes that give more rotation. This guy turned the wheel a little and then hit the brakes. This led to oversteer. If you need to brake, do it before turning, or if you want to trail brake, release the brakes as you turn the wheel - more wheel rotation, less braking power.. Mid corner braking leads to disasters

@ScorpioHR
@ScorpioHR 8 месяцев назад
It wasn't a lift off. It was city car driving: he realized, mid corner, that he's too fast and pressed brake a bit harder. Since it's an electric car, it doesn't use much brakes but it was braking with electric motors. It's a heavy car, since he was already in the corner, his car mass was pointing mostly to the front right wheel. When he pressed brakes harder, it shifted it's center of the mass to the front wheels, lifting the rear wheels that lost traction and then the spinning started. If he just lifted off, he would understeer. Centrifugal force always wants you to shoot out of the corner/oversteer. Oversteer is always with an extra force that starts the rotation: throttle, brakes, curb that sets the car off the balance or something on the road that makes tyres have different grip (e.g. ice or grease). He started spinning because he hit the brakes in the corner and in panic pressed more. Basically what started the spin cannot stop it but we think "braking= putting the car in balance" which definitely is not the case
@Wolpiletti
@Wolpiletti 8 месяцев назад
At this section a simple lift can make your rear too loose. No car at all has understeer here. This Genius also doesn’t go straight over the bump bevor Schwedenkreuz - what you shouldn’t do either. This Guy just don’t know the Track - maybe his skills from Gran Turismo only.

That game actually taught me so much that by the time I had started driving and going out on trackdays people tought I had been driving for longer than what I really had. Since all the stuff I was doing on the car was stuff I had subconsciously done for years in a video game. I've been passenger princes with a couple of my friends while doing street activities and I've gotten to the point where I'm fearing from my life, people braking mid corner on a rwd car, downshifting mid corner, not slowing down enough, it's not a nice feeling spinning around uncontrollably 🤣

Nice save, the Tesla is great in straight line and powering out of corners, but it’ll never be a good race car because of its weight distribution, in theory the batteries being on the bottom means super low and even centre of gravity, but it needs some kind of ballast you can use to pivot it, especially around a track like nbring, it needs an engine that stiffens up as you add and remove power, that’s why 911s are probably the fastest road cars around nbring
