I Created a Supersonic Gearbox Using 1 Simple Trick! (Screw Drivers) 

The map looping is bugged. when you loop, your x/y co-ordinate flip sides relative to the centerline of the map (the snakey ramp). Like if you were 2 tiles to the left, after you loop you'll be 2 tiles to the right. You're correct.

you missed the longer axle that got added too. you could add a gear with each planet gear so you have a 3 speed shifter. that should help alot

hint:: you can use the map to align yourself back with the road.. the arrow is your actual location alignment with the main road .. so long as you align your arrow with the road on the map you will be perfectly lined up and drive down the road.. i was lucky i figured that out pretty quickly.. watching you youtubers struggle with it i have to comment to make your lives easier

I had a lot of fun with this game, but stopped playing it because the issues were piling up. It's really nice to see how many of them have been fixed since! It was mostly quality of life stuff to do with the builder, like the lack of symmetry, switching between parts easily, etc.

It's not that your engine noise is missing (it's there, at least in my headphones, just as a muted bass), it's that with the front axle drive gear you're not getting the noise from the planetary gears. What you think is the engine noise (the higher pitched whining vroom) is actually coming from your gearing.

I think a 3rd gear with a ratio between the two you have currently would help a ton with acceleration.

High end acceleration problem was coming from trying to power all planetery gears at once all of a sudden. Your low-end(torque) and high-end(speed) transmission idea was good but if you put some space between planetery gears and activate each individual planetery gear with different gear would be much more efficient. So we are looking at a 6 gear gearbox. G1 Torque and 1 planetery gear G2 Speed and 1 pg G3 Torque and 2 pg G4 Speed and 2 pg G5 Torque and 3 pg G6 Speed and 3 pg One 2 gear and one 3 gear shifter is all it takes

I have an idea, add a gear in between the planetary gears, with an axle/axles running next to them, to grab the outputs between each planetary gearset, so you can just shift between them

As others have mentioned, more gears would have helped you so much. I've actually built a 9 speed gearbox in screw drivers, and the low speed acceleration is insane. For supersonic you need to gear up the engines going in but it's very much a huge advantage. Pretty sure the lack of engine noise is because the game doesn;t know how to handle having the drive axel change when you change gears. There was no real need to do it that way you do either, you could have driven both axles with 2 or more gears.

I've built a few supersonic planes and the physics get really finicky to say the least. A few tips I would follow is less = more. Try to keep your build as light as possible (the game gives any extra weight a large impact on speed performance) as well as having 2 - 4 sets of "propellers" (i recommend only using the carbon fiber ones for weight). The game seems to have troubles with maintaining the same power output with high speed prop engines placed side by side and causes spinning out of control (similar to the issues you encountered when reaching a certain speed with your designs) i recommend having them situated front to back. Also just have a very high gear ratio, hope Kan sees this and helps him get that awesome supersonic flyer ❤.

It would be good to see the devs add a blue print feature so for example when you multi select pieces you then press a button to save it as a blue print and then on annother creation you press a button to load a saved blueprint

hi kan! i wanted to say something i found when configuring engines in gearblocks, if you right-click on the text that displays the number you can type in a value that can exceed the usual limits i did this and i got an engine to run at 8000 rpm

As you approach the speed of sound, the engines may be reaching their soft-limiter. They are behaving like most diesels do: approaching the rev limiter, but gradually slowing down as they do so. This may be occuring on top of the existing aerodynamics of an empty flatbed railcar.

Game went from unintentionally having plane physics to having functional plane parts.

The data shown by the game displays theoretical maximum acceleration (and speed). The curve of a gas engine isn't flat like a lb electric one. I say theoretical because it doesn't account for wheel-spin (or air resistance for max speed)

Couldn't you make a legit gearbox and have a much smoother acceleration curve? Also, don't the electrics have better torque, so wouldn't having a hybrid work better?

when i made mine i did a 3 speed and the top speeds for each gear was about 1st 300~350 2nd 650~750 3rd ~1400 i used a mixture of gears, while keeping it compact

I built a similar vehicle with electric engines. Experiment stacking them while facing each other with a 3 block axis and small gears to take the power out. Then stack the 2 engine combo parallel or in series

If you want to avoid the obstacles, when you teleport you have to go 2 lines to the left I hope this helps everyone ❤

Multi select and moving parts? Nice. Having to delete and rebuild stuff all the time was the most annoying thing that drove me away from the game. Hopefully the next thing to fix is the side teleport when going back to the other side of the map.

7:00 You could drive all wheels with different gear ratios without ever disconnecting them and it would still work just fine. Just slab an engine on the front wheels with small gearing and forget about it. No need to disconnect them, as the magic gears allow the game to always calculate the highest torque and ignore the rest. So, when in real life your front wheels would then turn slower than rear wheels, in this game you can just flat out ignore it. Also, you should just use electric engines for acceleration. Following the same logic of magic gears, even when they max out their RPM, the don't hinder the whole system from going even harder because the game simply ignores them. Essentially, the game considers max() function as the fundamental truth and ignores the rest.

Easy. Just scale it up so you can have a chance in the air.

You wanna build a cool race car? You should try and build a sprint car. They have a greater power to weight ratio than the modern f1 car. They are literally go karts with a 900+ horsepower small block v8. Do some research on them if you wish. They do also have wings on the top for downforce

I kinda just copied your build to see if it could go further. I dropped the front drive and replaced it with more engines then just drove through 3 planetary gears and then a plate gear to do the 90 bend to the drive axle. It isn't that much slower to build speed since the extra engines make up for a lot and I got above 1500 km/h before I hit the buildings 11 engines and a top gear speed of ~1634

"i created a supersonic gearbox" wrong you didnt really create a gearbox you created a shifter. no gearbox seen here. with that kind of translation electric engines would have worked so much better. for combustion engines you would need more gears to stay in the optimal rpm range. because they give more torque but only at the optimal rpm.
