Something i really like about this movie is that, because horses are considered one of the most difficult animals to draw (and therefore animate), Dreamworks literally got a horse and told the animators to sit and watch this horse and draw it to learn how they moved and how all the parts of the animal connected together. The real horse they got was a Kiger Mustang and at the time he was called Donner. After the movie he was renamed Spirit after the character he inspired and was retired to a sanctuary. Rain wasn't inspired by any real horse, however the American Paint Horse Association gave her a registration with the APHA in honorary status.

5:10 they actually recorded sounds from horse stables for a few months to get a variety of sounds to use as ''dialogue'' in this movie which is pretty damn awesome

Fun fact!: the scenes with native Americans have chopped up real native language in them. In the movie they talk of Little Foot being Lakota. I'm lakota and upon rewatching, I nearly dropped my pretzels hearing bits of lakota in those scenes!

Your native ancestors are no different from mine or anybody elses. They waged war with other tribes and committed atricious acts against each other. That is human nature, it is what all human societies do. Don't act like Native Americans were sinless and perfect, or 'better' then the people who came to this Country. Truth is, without european settlers, your people would still be running around in animal hides and killing each other with bows and clubs in a never ending cycle of war. We brought true civilization to these lands, turned the nation into a world power, and the center of the free world.

This movie was one of the best animated movies in my opinion. The team that made the film really put a lot into it. Tons of emotion from start to finish. The 80s movie Red Dawn is another good one too.

@@PurdyflexreactionsThis is how horses show their affection by scratching and rubbing their head. The animators studied differents horses behavior with real horses to have references. 😊 There is no flirting with the mom, just affection. Not the same with Rain of course, because it is a romance 😂

23:26 It may seem puzzling why Spirit doesn't simply move to the left or right to avoid the oncoming train. However, it's important to remember that "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" is an animated film that aims to tell a compelling story and evoke emotions rather than adhere strictly to realistic physics. In this particular scene, the filmmakers likely chose to create a sense of danger and suspense by placing Spirit in a situation where escape seems impossible. It adds tension to the storyline and creates a thrilling moment for the audience. While it may not align with real-world physics, it's common for movies, especially animated ones, to take creative liberties for the sake of storytelling and visual impact.

Please react to : *Fluke* (1995) my favorite Animal Movie! *Solution to c0piright issues* IMAGE EDITION : - Edit the movie scenes with partial % of transparency (and/or text) - Flip the movie scenes from Right to Left. AUDIO EDITION : - Put the volume of the movie lower than the volume of your microphone(not too low). (Statics, White noise & your comments , make little distortion to the audio) - Record the audio of your reaction separately from the audio of the movie. It is so funny watching someone who seemingly knows very little about horses watch this movie, your comments are very honest xD One vs one an adult horse wins, especially a stallion against a mountain lion. Usually mountain lions will only go after very young horses, like what happened in this film until Spirit stepped in to defend them as the herd leader.

There typically is a bit of incest within herds. If a young stallion, born into the herd actually kicks out the older stallion. typically young stallions leave the herd and form their own bachelor groups and look for new herds with new mares.
