I did the LMU Porsche fixed at Sebring 3 times this week and I have to say it was some of the most fun I’ve had sim racing in a long time. The last update they did made the GTE tires a bit weird but i think they finally worked it out. I will say that the new starting methods can be tricky at times depending on the racecourse, like at LeMans with the chicane. I have gotten way too many drive through penalties due to drivers not starting the rollout or brake checking. But all in all.. I am super excited for the new content to drop that was finally announced today. Side note, I wish I was as talented and as brave as you Dave to provide commentary during my races when i record RU-vid content. I think I make weird faces on my videos lol. Good stuff Dave, keep it up. Hope to meet up with you some time on LMU.
Had my first taste of LMU this weekend in Peugeots sim at the 6 Hours of São Paulo. Was a quick 2 lap race around Monza, unfortunately with assists on. But it felt pretty good, they had an R9 and some pretty decent pedals, load cell and all. I currently dont own either a wheel or a PC but once I get those, Ill make sure LMU is one of the first sims I buy
I’ve been playing it on a ps4 controller with no issues out of the box. As an added bonus, it has haptic feed back through the rumble motors that’s surprisingly good. I haven’t raced online in lmu yet, but, I was doing pretty good for myself with the same ps4 controller in rf2
@@Robot_repeaterI play on both wheel and controller, I use controller for casual and my friend only uses controller and he says controller support his bad, but I laugh and say it’s the best ever for any racing sim. Controller support for LMU is amazing
Love LMU, but I also favour RF2 as my go to, they just feel great to me. Sadly they have not got the VR sorted properly yet in LMU so not done anything other than occasional testing. Once they get MSAA or an alternative working in VR it's going to look spectacular. At the moment in VR is just aliasing like a 90s game.
The name/logo pop up at the start is typically for the car you need to be following.. it appears the car directly ahead started from the pits, so it moved to next in line!
Nice one Dave! Would love more LMU yes! Only bad thing i have to say about LMU is that there is not enough online races yet. I always join when the next is 50 min away. But as you say, visuals and sound are on point!
Hi Dave! Yes - more LMU. Im struggling with this sim and your videos help keep me entertained, informed and inspired. I have a Fanatec CSL DD with boost kit and a slightly modded Thrustmaster TLCM pedal set. I'm slowly tuning settings for this game. For me, the cars are kinda floaty and unpredictable. Working on it.😊 Cheers!
Liked and commented for algo boost. I think the game is cool if somewhat rough so far but more content is always good. Would love to see you drive lmp2 and hypercar as well. I found the toyota to be really smooth to drive.
Amazing Race Dave I have been thinking about a different sim. This does look great will have to look into this or ACC it’s annoying when IRacing has to update when you want to jump on and race 👍
That was brilliant. I was grabbing both hands to my desk all the way through... didn't even notice until the end lol. Really excellent driving, spoiled at the end by a technical issue. I think this is based on rFactor 2. Briefly, how's the handling and FFB here vs others?
I think I'd switch off crewchief for LMU and use the in-game HUD instead of race slab. Like Jim telling you tiny bit of bodywork damage from hitting kerb or something early in the race, it's better to not know. And the HUD is LMU is brilliant. Looks like you're back on a single screen setup again and the in-game radar is pretty handy for that.
I forgot to ask if you knew about the Racelab option where you can "Driver Tag" basically label drivers. On the main page for RaceLab if you have the "Pro" version you can see everyone's name and annotate whether they were "Bad, Dangerous, Target" and various other things. After that those things will show up in your Standings/Relative and anyone else that has Racelab will be able to see the tag also.
Dave as always great video, I'm going to have to go try that race tonight. Although I will not do as well, I cannot control that car at all, but I just like to have fun... Hopefully the race doesn't make everyone speak in some crazy made up language..LOL
nice video, thanks for sharing. I'm myself slowly get more and more time in LMU because it feels more, maybe call it natural. For the downshift, i have my up on 200ms and never had any problems. Can i ask which seup you are running on Base/wheel/ brakes? I'm in the final decison finding and currently between simagic alpha, the asetek forte orthe VRS . On brakes i'm totally undecided.
I'm currently using an Asetek Invicta wheelbase, Grid Porsche RSR wheel rim and the Simucube Active Pedals. I've owned the VRS base and have the Forte. My choice would be the Forte. I'd highly recommend the Simgrade VX Pro pedals 👍
Hi Dave, great content as always - are you still running your Invicta WB, if so do you use Aseteks settings for LMU or have you tweaked? I’m running the Asetek settings currently….
@@davecamyt thanks Dave, I have iRacing set as default so I’ll give those a try and see how they feel on LMU - I’m currently really enjoying my the GR86 at Spa on the GR ButtKicker Cup!
With an open setup, even better, tweak the diff , ride height. I do wish they had the same as iracing to adjust the gearing. IMSA and WEC did give the RSR that availability after the ford gt x& corvette came out due to their performance. Iracing was the only some who tweaked it to be aligned as in rl
I’m new to sim racing my rig comes tomorrow but I wanted to ask is it me or iracing graphics are not that good as far as the cars etc… I know the physics are the best so im guessing thats the trade off?
The FFB in LMU just doesn't feel right for me or else I would play it. Unless I'm trail braking there's little to no feel at all. Maybe something I'm doing I dunno though but I don't have this issue in iRacing or ACC for instance. Sucks cuz I really wanna play LMU.
You could've enabled the new radar feature Anyway, I bought LMU a couple of weeks ago, probably more, tried to do a quick race weekend with AI on Sebring with a GTE car, it took a lot of time to load, the game ran horribly, braking without ABS was very hard and I didn't really wanted to adjust and get used to it, refunded within 45 minutes
So you suggest sticking with iracing? My final packages come in tomorrow i hope to be racing by weekend or quicker. Not sure how long this stuff takes to set up
Lmu us very fun but it lacks performance programming as it drops fps here are there and the gte cars are very unbalanced and other stuff. Some patches ahead and it will be much better
LMU is nice but they're so greed for money and DLC... Game is still not fixed, there is a lot to do and they announced payed DLC and season pass. If I have to pay, I prefer to pay for iRacing which is far more competetive. LMU is nice to drive from time to time, but not in subscription mode...
Seems nothing really special. All the LMU hype doesn’t attract me really, even when I never even tried it, it’s too early I would say. After 2-3 years maybe
