VSG patient here, self pay, and got their surgery in Mexico (3/2/21 | 140lbs down and still maintaining!). You are 100% correct, Kelsi! I still had requirements I had to meet, and I would say that it was actually probably harder. I didn't have anyone to walk me through and check in on me. (Email check-ins, but no one to physically see and make sure I was on the right track). I was given what I needed to do and was expected to have it done. That actually made me work even harder to make sure that I didn't fall short when I flew down to San Diego and went across the border. Cause if you got there and didn't meet the requirements, they would send you right back over the border, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. It did feel like such a slap in the face for all of us who had to work their butt off. Thanks for making this video and all the others as well! 💜

I'm 11 days post-op from Tijuana, and you are correct. These videos really help.

She is frustratingly delusional! She thinks she’s gonna walk in, have surgery, and walk out skinny. I appreciated every step I had to take in order to get approved for WLS because it helped in preparing for the rest of my life..and even after surgery the shit is still hard! She needs to have people in her life that’s gonna give it to her real! She’s a brat and she’s used to having things the way she wants them. She’s whining because she thought she was gonna be an exception to a much needed rule..smh

Isn't Amber the same girl in your last "Reaction" video who said that WLS is the easy way out & slammed those who go that route? Wow! Just wow!!

My insurance and doctors gave me rules. I had to provide proof of multiple diet plans I had followed and the results I had I was given limits that I had to follow. I lost 80% excess body weight. 1.5 years. So happy post op. I listen to my tool.

ALR is entitled and always has been. For some strange reason, she thinks she’s “different” from the other patients. She’s special and should be treated as such! And then she wonders why so many people dislike her.

Heck she is given all reasons she can take control of. My surgeon post pone my surgery around my son's school schedule because he though the routine while my son was in school was too much because my son is in college at 14 and I have to go with him every day. He thought it would be to much so I had to wait until my son got out of school. I was glad he did that. As well my doctor did not trust what the psychologist I went to and I had to go to a second psychologist again I was glad he did because it allowed me to address issues that the first one over looked.

This!❤ I had a DS 2009, (hw330lw108cw127-2 revisions to increase my common channel still have a vsg, obviously but no longer malabsorption due to chronic protein malnutrition) With that said- your title grabbed me bc that one line did it for me especially! 😡 And she felt like bc she wasn’t using insurance she could just get it done whenever she darn pleased. I had to jump hoops and appeal twice and it all took a year before I went under. She wasn’t even following the “stupid” little rules bc sipping soda and water was counter productive to the whole purpose of sips. If she’d done what they said back in 2020, she’d be sitting with her new surgery. She is ALR- she thinks she knows everything. One last thing, I don’t think they have a problem with her dx off BED- she was told the problem is the lack of therapy.

I just got approved to participate in a 6-month program to start the bariatric criteria process. This 6 month is about ensuring I learn, practice, and demonstrate that I can live by a restricted diet and keep the weight off. Thank God I have a mental health team I've been going to for the past 10 years, and they believe I am of the right mind and space to be successful. It took nearly 10 years of failed weight loss efforts, medication, low-calorie diets, excessive exercise, wild hormonal changes, and much more to qualify for the 6-month program. Once the 6-month program is over, I must go through any other 3-6 months of psych evaluations, blood work, etc., before a date is set. Doing it all is much longer than 6 weeks or 6 months. When she gets to 6 years, then I am open to listening. She is tripping. I can't stop laughing. #stopthewhitetears Did she think her healthcare team would not research her? She's all over RU-vid demonstrating her illness.

Girl you look like you lost more weight and I love the hair . I think the dietitian told her way more then having to wait until year to get the surgery because of the binge eating . ( I could be wrong ) I am also in the process of wls ( 6 months in so far 3 months to go until surgery!!!) and I started at 433 they said I have to get to 370 for surgery I’m at 411 now. I’m also surprised they didn’t tell her at the beginning she had to wait a year . My program told me I have to wait a year before i can get the surgery because they want my liver to be smaller or something like that. I also struggled with binge eating but I’ve been in therapy for it . A year goes pretty fast I just feel like amber doesn’t want to do the work she wants the surgery and to be done and go back to her old ways she said it before she wish she could just get the surgery right away. I think amber thought that if she throw these surgeons a check they will take it and operate on her . She has to understand also just because the psychologist recommended you doesn’t mean anything my psychologist said that when I first started he said I still have to get approved from the surgeon. Girl idk it’s a hot mess I kinda feel bad for her because I do feel like surgery is her last option . She honestly wasn’t ready. but at the same time this wouldn’t had came such a shocked to her if SHE DID HER RESEARCH!!!!

ALR was more interested in 3 months after surgery, that's when she thinks she will be healed & can eat solid foods. she has made no physical effort on her part, she really thinks practicing taking small sips, eating 6 small meals a day is what wls consist of. she ain't ready & probably never will be. She constantly lies this girl got up after 5pm & still ate breakfast(sonny's bar b que 2 sides of mac n cheese) lunch(mcdonalds 2 chicken wraps and a large sprite) dinner(foot long sub and reeses big cup 6 pack). The only way she'll ever get herself together is if she gets off of RU-vid, because RU-vid allows her this lifestyle of sitting at home gorging herself to death. in 2014 it was a six month process for me to have sleeve surgery by 2021 i was in so much constant pain due to too much restriction and acid reflux i had to have a revision to bypass in November. ALR is glamorizing wls she has not lost 1 pound if anything she looks bigger, she can't pay her way into wls.

You did the "stupid little rules" for 60 days... Great! Now, you're going to follow those same "stupid little rules" tomorrow and every single day, for the rest of your life. It's not a "rule" it's the change that you're going to be expected to make, post surgery - might as well start now. Absolutely, the surgery is the easy part. It's a few months later, when the emotions get to you, when you can now tolerate most foods and when you can now eat larger volumes of food, that the real work begins. That's when you begin to see how those "stupid little rules" can actually save your butt, when you just want to sit down and eat a bunch of garbage. I started seeing a therapist months before my surgery, because I knew I had a lot of emotional issues that needed work - BEFORE I had the surgery. I didn't want to go through all of this pain, just to fail later and regain all the weight.
