Beutiful. Once eckart told me not to try and fill the gaps! They are there for moments of awareness. It's amazing how the little things change your whole perspective, during my breath hold, thoughts subside and awareness hightens. Some moments of pure presence happen which of course once you acknowledge, are gone but in time these moments last for longer. It's magical. Even a few concious breaths during the day can bring you to the present moment, if you feel you are too busy to take a concious breath then that's madness. Lovely video great information.

It has been a complete journey since I started to practice the method. I don't know how many times I've rediscovered my self, including going deeper in things that I usually try to not think/feel, and then understand it. Everyday can be a whole new experience with the breathing and I can assure that you had guided me aswell. I felt that i've learned or understanded something in every video of yours. The ideia of missing the soul in the practice really gets me, because this is what really changed after a time practicing and you channel helped a lot for me to see it. Thank you, Kitaro!

Thankyou for this advice and passing on your knowledge, it came for me at the most perfect of times 🙏. I subbed to your channel a few months ago but never watched any of your videos, apart from the initial one that prompted me to sub. This week I started the Wim Hoff method after many months of laziness and negative attitude, even though I have abused my lungs for over 2 decades. With the first signs of spring, a positive heart and mindset and now your inspirational video/ channel content, I am going to turn this thing around! I am very grateful and send you and yours love and light whilst looking forward to your older and future content. 💚🙏

It teaches the other way around. Breath into the belly THEN the chest, this is actually the diaphragm at work.. the belly is a vacuum and is the diaphragm actually pulling down in action.

This is why I add meditation, QiGong, yoga and holotropic breath work to my practice. You can also engage the Bhandas when doing wim hof, or if you suffer anxiety like me, try staying calm during the breath holds. I agree with this video, I may try bringing more awareness to my daily wim hof breathing. Breathing is 1/5 of my practices so we must cover all the bases.

So I for whatever reason thought I had to expel every single oxygen molecule out of my lungs, and I did that every single time for months some of the experiences I had were extremely profound while others created paralysis in my pinking ring fingers. I figured it was just my circulation, correcting itself or some strange phenomena but I just recently realized Wim Hof never said to do that, and you don’t have to get all of the oxygen out of your lungs. You just let the last in breath go and hold still leaves like a sixth air in the lungs for me. When I first started Wim Hof breathing I went all the way in and would breathe out all of my airfor the retention, there was crazy, profound effects, more intense than when I held onto my breath❤

Thanks for this as that’s what I’ve been doing . I’ve found also that on last inhale before your exhale hold that if you inhale as much as you can and then a few sips more then pull in diaphragm and squeeze your core that you get a more release of DMT it would seem and a great calmness and connection comes over you. Need to be careful through as you can become very disoriented. Love this channel and kitaro is a true humble man a master teacher

The Bohr effect makes this breathwork a challenging method to advocate as a daily life practice. The lack of C02 in the bloodstream (as a result of rapid breathing) diminishes the ability for hemoglobin to release O2 to the muscles, brain and other vital parts of the body (hence the dizziness the practice can induce). Short term alkalosis seems fine but long, lifetime practice seems ill advised. What do others think?
@ancientfarmerfilms
@ancientfarmerfilms 2 месяца назад
@UnspeakablyAwake cold/heat exposure protocols seem like promising, positive sum games to play in the long term however, I am still skeptical of any cumulative, long term effects of doing any breathwork that starves oxygen to the brain over a long period of time.
@JamieR
@JamieR 2 месяца назад
@@ancientfarmerfilmsit can be very hard on the nervous system too. Oxygen Advantage seems like a good one to balance it with. Though I believe these breath techniques require a certain level of health. That said, starving the brain from oxygen doesn't seem like a good thing indeed. I'd probably limit the length of the sessions and keep it shorter. No need to overdo it.
@ancientfarmerfilms
@ancientfarmerfilms 2 месяца назад
@@JamieR agreed on many points - I've been diving into OA for over a few weeks now and it's becoming abundantly clear how chronic hyperventilation should be avoided as a long term practice. Daily practice will make us all CO2 intolerant over time which basically cripples our ability to carry O2 effectively to our bodies. Watch recent videos with Wim - between sentences he is struggling to breathe. Years of practice have made him CO2 intolerant. Also the fact that we are mouth breathing mass amounts of dust/particles through the air while eliminating NO2 uptake through nasal breathing make this breathwork ever harder than ever for me to advocate to anyone. I do want to thank Wim for opening up the world of breathwork and cold exposure to me and many others but alas, the science is clear.

If your nasal passages are clear go for it. Wim himself says mouth breathing so you can get the maximum intake of breath as quickly as possible. Keep in mind basal breathing is a calming breath. In Kitaros videos it always shows him breathing nasally. The nasal passages filter the air we breath whereas the mouth does not. That said if you're only mouth breathing during the breathwork and nasal breathing in your day to day its not going to affect you negatively. I'd recommend mouth breathing for a quick full inhale.

I do both. Most of times, I do through the nose in the first couple of rounds and then switch. That's how we teach it.

but you're still doing it wrong, you're hyperventilating - just do a guided breathing with wim hof and you'll see the difference ... I agree completely with your views on nowadays' terrible urge to fill the gaps and the need of being 'bored' !

You don’t have to announce that if your own faith is solid. Jesus did not create the breath.
