I Didn't Expect To Like This Anime. 

One major issue with animes about video games is that it doesn't feel like the authors are gamers. With Shangri-La Frontier, you can definitely feel that Katarina is very passionate about it and knows his stuff. This series has soul, and it's really refreshing.

Apparently some of the animation staff have worked on god of highschool, that's probably why the fights looks so amazing 😊

Simple concept with the best execution,that’s the best way to describe this show and that’s why I’m liking it so much(plus the fact that I relate to how he plays games and some things he does)

Webtoons are the exact same there’s a lot of tower, ranker, back in time, OP MC types of stories. MC’s look the same too 🤣

This season is pretty packed with good anime. My faves are Frieren, Apothecary Diaries and Pluto

The anime is very likeable. I found myself really liking Sunraku from the start as I can kind of relate to him. (As a gamer.) I knew I would probably enjoy it, but good fucking god, I didn't expect it to be my favorite of the season. Honestly, what pushed it into being my favorite was when they introduced Arthur Pencilgon. And the history between her and the main character. Gods that's shit you don't make up. That feels genuine. That's the sort of shit that feels really genuine. The backstory of Pencilgon and Sunraku as well as how they play off of one another, is why I absolutely love this anime.

The best part for me would be that it's believable, you could see this happening if we got sci-fi vr tech and people who did god runs on the souls games would dominate it.

Surprisingly really good,very underrated, good plot that slowly expanding with mysterious event. The fight scene insanely good(better than solo leveling fighting scene that dont really match the manhwa synergy)

Hey @TheMaskedMan can I recommend you the manga called batuque? It is a manga set in modern day Hiroshima and there's was a capoeira master that was living there somewhere and it was underrated and have a story and especially good fight scene if you like fighting

Everytime I watch this series I get the urge to play a game lol. It speaks to my gamer side.

The manga has some fights that had me genuinly busting every panel. I really hope the anime delivers on those battles. And i think it will from what ive seen so far. Im not kidding when i say i enjoy the fight scenes in the manga more than some top level shonen jump action.

I been watching this anime thanks to a friend recommending it and so far i LOVE it Is Weird How Lately How i Been Finding Anime That Are Somewhat Main Stream But Yet Not ur Normal Fight Anime But Stuff Like Dr Stone and Shangri la Frontier Are Perfect For Me a Great Blend of Drama and Comedy

One thing I never tell anyone is, This is only games anime that I really like and enjoy. I remember watching SAO and dropped it on first arc because I feel like "This anime is not for me". But then, I watch this anime and oh my god, This is so fun. I highly recommend it especially if you like rpg games.

Man, you've been watching a lot anime recently, despite preferring manga over anime (although you have watched anime) you've made recently a lot videos where you watch the anime first then read and said that you preferred the manga. The series i'm talking about are Heavenly Delusion, Undead Unluck, Zom 100, Chainsaw Man and now Shangri La Frontier (specifically the first 3 you said you preferred the manga)

I know it's been 5 months but the weathermoon fight was soo cool

Going through it now. The only thing i wish they didnt conpletely drop the durability mechanic. Im on ep 10 and they havent talked about durability since like the 3rd or 4th ep. It had potential for really high stakes for olenty of fights but it never mattered even against tough enemies.

shangri-la frontier might end up being in my top 5 favorite animes ever it's so fucking good i don't think i've ever been pulled into an anime the same way i have with SLF with the exception of maybe hunter x hunter it's just so exciting to watch the only criticism I have of it is that it made me want to play an mmorpg game and you could imagine my disappointment when i discovered that every single mmorpg sucks ass but other than that it's fucking stellar

He’s got a addiction to very hard/torturing games so I gotta commend that a true challenge adrenaline seeking junkie (as for the protagonist in isekai who look alike it’s a double edge blade certainly wouldn’t hurt having different looking characters but it certainly makes it so they gotta be eye catching in story or concept it reflects itself in isekai as a genre or shounen)

Gotta say I’ve been a fan of the manga for a long time. It’s not perfect but it’s always fun with none of the agonising shit you often get in VR isekai. No shitty love triangle or harem, no godlike power and likeable female characters with actual personalities and really no fan service. It’s just fun and action packed.

Nice to see you covering animes too. SLF was a real surprise this season. I was expecting some trash isekai, but it's actually really good. Also, animation is top notch. Waiting for your Hell's Paradise anime video too. That'll be interesting.

I am kinda sad that the story thus far didnt expand on something that will come at episode 19 of the anime storywise, that could have raised the stakes a lot but for whatever reason it seems like the author completely forgot about it. Edit: Btw, there are stakes, recall episode 11 and what was said, when NPC's die they are completely erased from the game(well that is the only high stakes thing about the game, not the players, but rather the NPC's)

What the fuck I just started reading this a week ago and am just now finding out about it's anime.

I really like this anime because it's more like of like "Let me solo her" that dude's legend in elden ring but funnier

I might beed to give this one a try whenever ai have time, because this season is pretty packed and I still have a few titles to catch up to. For those that might enjoy isekai that get a decent pacing and try a bit of a different development path, Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash could be a good title to check out. Its got a good way in fleshing out the dangers of adventuring into an unknown world, the interactions within party members and how good relationships are important, and explores a bit of a mentoring system that I remember was a bit interesting, but that it seems its explored more in the source material for the LNs for what some people mentioned in forums when the series was airing. Its not the most revolutionary anime series, but its pretty enjoyable and if some themes are further expanded and explored in following seasons (if it ever gets a continuation) it could go to interesting developments (LN readers, don't spoil me please, just let me know if I should attempt to read the source material).

I slept on this series because of another similar anime that came out in 2021 called Full Dive, and it was genuine trash with really zero plot. Saw a couple clips and gave it a shot. Binged it in a day right before the Wethermon fight and ended up hooked

My only problem with the anime/manga is how the MC gets the bunny in game. It's what bugs me about any series taking place in a wide multiplayer game that's been going on for years. Why hasn't anyone else discovered it like online gaming comunities are huge surely someone would of found this out or at least an insider would of leaked it

The significance of the boss battle and curse the MC is afflicted with is incredible, it literally changes the play style of the player as a consequence of earning it from a legendary scenario; no other RPG would DARE to do this because alot of players are big whiney babies that need milk, and so they would cry about "how unfair" it is and send death threats to the devs expecting daddy to get some or else. Its amazing this anime exists; In the sea of trash anime with overpowered fetish protagonists, this breath of fresh air doesn't shove belatant pedo trash or endless sexualization in your face, it successfully sells the dream of a truly god tier game, and Licagons curse is key that unlocks the treasure that is this series. The curse essentially replaces your lack of armour for a perfect set up for a no hit striker build; It starts you off with an insanely rare exp attainment alternative, a high resistance magic defense, and a natural deterant of trash mobs so essentially; he went from Baldrs Gate to Monster Hunter boss mechanics and he didn't even have to switch games. All in tribute to the player engaging with an impossible enemy with the highest value of damage, without TAKING ANY DAMAGE, WHILE LANDING 200 CRITICAL STRIKES!!! In this perfect world with this perfect game, the Ai was made, hand crafted to find a players playstyle and experience and not only rewards them for it but GENUINELY ADAPT challenges FOR them proprtionate to thier skill and dedication to the game!! We can barely get a few hundred game companies that genuinely dedicate themselves to the craft and im not gonna lie the executive embezzlement and trickle down doesn't give me confidence its happening any time soon; Lariean Studios still exists tho, so i still have reasonable hope that someday this could be possible, but i digress... I LOVE this series, 25 episodes with a garenteed season 2, I love EVERYTHING about this blessed series and you should definitely give it a shot. Watch Shang-Gri La Frontier, you'll find it on crunchy roll but watch it however you can, give the creators some love y'all!! (honestly, the lead developer of Shanghai Frontier is in hiding and i definetly can see why. Players would hunt them down if a real company allowed pvp rules like Shangrila Frontier! lmao❤)
