not only has she developed confidence in going against several range of high rating players in tournament format but she also helping young new talent get exposure by upsetting higher rating chess players and is not afraid to show it. I'm sure the kid is going brag that he was able to get 1 off a WFM and make his parent proud that their kid has done such a good job in practicing and getting good at something he liked. Must be enjoyable to play with good personality like this

My most recent chess tournament game started where my opponent played e4 and I responsed with c5 and I won the game. He was rated 1650 too.

you want to play a6 and bg7 early if you like to play the dragon. a6 actually in any variation, because the great thing about the Sicilian is you get to create a lot of space on rhe Queen side. You can tell you are losing when your queenside is overrun. Opening with a6 is even possible. You want to play a6 to play b5 and avoid these shenanigans.. ideally you want to get your rook on the b file supporting your white square bish placed on b7 at some point after a6 and b5 are played. in response to Qa5+ he coule hsve played b4. Instead of c3 to get the queen off the diagonal. Queen cant take so has to go back. I guess rc8 is kind of forced here. I think Anna just got stuck in her accelerated dragon prep and forgot about the underlying concepts of the Sicilian. More important then each move order is keeping in mind that you can transpose between variations during the opening.

What kind of Chess Tournaments do you play where people are walking about. Here from the start, I can hear loud laughter from a few people. Back in my day would never have happened. Not that it bothered me but would my friend and a few more I knew. All my sports nothing would make lose what I was doing or thinking like golf.
