Great performances and Gower Champion's staging is genius (recreated by wife Marge) Hal Linden has said that other actresses were strongly considered, but he thought Lee Remick was the perfect choice and that Flaming Agnes needs a performer with an "everywoman" quality, if she's too much of glamourpuss it's not as funny.
