Party next door dropped an album in 2019 or 2020 and Rihanna was on a song, everyone was talkin about Rihanna on that song and not the album at all. He brought her out in some place in New York where she wouldn’t come even if she was paid to do so. Imo the new album will probably be received like the Kid Cudi Insano album but with slightly more hype. Rocky's also more in the settling stage of his life and has talked about retiring from music many times which is somewhat similar to Kid Cudi's situation where he talked about retiring after his last album. I think the album is more towards his diehard fans who want one more album before he leaves music completely.
His last song that dropped was a remix of a song over a clans casino beat and that did really well on tik tok which was good. He should have dropped his album around then because it probably would’ve done well with the newer generation

As soon as he got with Rihanna I knew he was gonna be looked at as a "plus 1", because he wasnt a superstar even in terms of rap. He doesn't appeal to the masses like Future, Kendrick, Nicki, Drake, and Cole, he doesnt have big first week numbers, and never sold out a arena by himself.
I’ve been an asap Rocky fan for such a long time, one of the first artists i discovered on my own outside of my iTunes library. I thought TESTING was solid i probably even gave it less credit then it deserves but man Rocky is just in such a tough spot musically it’s crazy. Like i just said TESTING seems to be a split album for most ppl and tht was 6 YEARS AGO, it’s not like he left us with an amazing/classic album last time he dropped. The way i see it at least from a masses perspective, he really needs to drop an undeniable project if he wants to break the mold of being “Rihanna’s sidekick” if u will.
