EMILY, Trell and Allie are a polyamorous triad living with their children in Las Vegas. Emily and Trell met through mutual friends and have been together 12 years, and married for five. Emily is bisexual so the couple decided to open up their relationship to other women. However, these encounters didn't tend to move beyond the bedroom - that was until they met Allie. Now finding themselves in a throuple, the three also had to quickly adjust when Allie fell pregnant. Now a year old, baby Reign is being brought up with two mums. And Trell also has a 12-year-old daughter from a previous relationship who has had to get used to classmates asking questions about her family's extended setup.

I have infertility issues and know how hard it is and feel sorry for her . It’s very hard to deal with others having babies and you can’t or have a hard time getting pregnant. She should join a childless support group or therapy to help her deal with it . I’m now divorced and single and it’s a struggle to live in a place where everyone is expected to be a mom or dad . If she reads this and wants to reach out I’m here

I’ve seen so many people who struggle with infertility break down because people ask this all the time. I think as a society we need to stop treating it like normal small talk to ask someone something so invasive. You don’t know what they are going through. They could be trying to have kids and failing and the last thing they need is people asking them about it. Or they could just not want kids and getting tired of telling people just to be told they will change their minds. I’m the later half lol I do not want biological kids and it pisses me off when people ask. Like mind your business and don’t tell people what you think they want or what they should do!

@@jmfia2391 um first off, it's not unheard of to have more than one parental figure. It takes a village for a reason. Second off if you have watched these videos with people in poly relationships (cause it's not unheard of and its beginning to be more common) you can tell fast what a healthy poly relationship is and what isn't. I'm not claiming to know what their life is like besides of what was shown here, however compared to other groups this is what I would considered on the healthy side. And if you did your research you would know some societies accept this lifestyle instead of being judgemental about it even if majority of their population are couples.

The only difference is that my grandfather remarried and he looked at his wife as a mother figured even after they divorced. That's why I have two grandmother's on that side of my family. And if anything forcing gender norms are a child can do more harm than just letting them find themselves. And you can literally find that in a psychology textbook easily.

Also, monogamy is more common because a Man created it to show his possession over a woman. It was the exchange of property from one person to another. That said property only had the right to serve the one who owned her. Meanwhile the owner, the man, had the right to own multiple properties if he could afford them financially. The well goes deeper than that but the point of the matter is is that monogamy is something that Man created. It's no more natural to life than polyamory.

@@Em-wr1rx here's a question though that you don't need to answer to me. What's the difference between a polyamorous relationship and healthy co-parenting? And remove the idea of sex from the equation because relying on that factor of it would be saying that all asexual and grey aced relationships aren't valid because the sexual component isn't there. And that's not even including those with disabilities that make sex difficult to even impossible 😕. So without that in the conversation, what's the difference between a polyamorous relationship and healthy, effective, stable co-parenting? (If children are involved as they are in this video).

I agree. Speaking from my own personal experience, I have found it impossible. No matter what anyone says there will ALWAYS be favor in some way. Jealousy is also a factor although they may say there isn't. It's a lot to keep up with when everyone has their own agenda and not on one accord. After my last poly "relationship", I said I would NEVER walk that path again. I've tried it 3 separate times.

How interesting!! I have always found polyamorous relationships fascinating, the dynamic is so different from the "normal" monogamous one that society pushes on us all from birth...and yet they are still very similar at their core. I am curious to know how that effected you growing up?? What is your viewpoint on poly relationships, and does that change based on whether there are children involved? (I'm genuinely curious, and I ask with the utmost respect 😌 )

They broke up when I was 8 or 9 years old and he was an absentee parent (because she left) I didnt fully understand until i was an adult and asked the other mother a ton of questions (my mother rarely talks about him) he didnt hop from relationship to relationship because its unhealthy. He followed a traditional way of thinking from a continental perspective I have relationship issues but its unrelated to their views on relationship The other mother was very nice and we were close for a very long time. We dont speak now but its unrelated to my father. Most men who enter these relationships are very self centered (my father). I would never enter one of these relationships because my attachment style wouldn't allow for me to thrive.

@@godmadesam Dude literally half of my family is greek which were the first civilizations to practice monogamy that today society conforms too. So I know what I'm talking about... No, You need to *read/research* more because most sources even state humans aren't designed to be monogamous! Only 10% of species on earth are monogamous. socially conditioning is the only reason why in today's modern world women can't fathom sharing their partner. Social constructs don't adhere to reality! if you look at women's dating strategy in today world actually its emblematic of polygyny, because it's simply biology regardless of these social constructs we have in place it won't vicissitude! Studies shows women benefit from polygyny because it's the best way to gain access to the "best" resources available. Which all women look for! Also it great for the kids because there'll be multiple partners to raise the kids so no need for a babysitters. This is where the saying "it takes a village to raise a child" stems from actually. Only in today world's we denigrate these type of relationships but before ourtime this was the norm🤷🏻‍♂️

For some people polyamory feels most natural, and for others monogamy feels most natural. It’s kinda hard to understand how people handle things if you can’t picture yourself going through it, if that makes sense. It just doesn’t make sense because it’s not for you, and that’s understandable. It’s a complex thing. Of course they have their struggles, and for some couples it creates even more, but it can also be very rewarding and fulfilling to have multiple partners. For them there’s just more love to share and with more parents comes more nurturing. They seem to be working out beautifully and that’s what matters most :)

The non biological mom will have 0 parenting rights on that child if the biological mom decides to separate. That child does not legally have 2 moms. No amount of UwU who cares will change that fact. The power imbalance is huge.

@@bornaries7213 people can’t afford to take care of their families with a sole bread winner who has just one job anymore, unless they are lucky enough to have a very well paying job. Most families have both parents and their teens working to afford food and rent. It’s unrealistic to expect the average man to provide for the whole family in our economy. My point is, it’s hard enough for monogamous families so having 3 parents working is a major benefit. People want to live comfortably and not paycheck to paycheck working multiple jobs each person.

I worry for the lady with infertility issues. Something major like that can really have an effect on a woman's self-worth (not that it should, but it's often the case), and I wonder if perhaps that has contributed to why she thinks it's acceptable to have another woman in her husband's life.

I dealt with infertility for a over a decade. It's heartbreaking. I cured my problems naturally. With a diet, supplements, and going gluten free, and fertility herbs. it was a LOT and ton of self dicipline... But so worth the end result. Inferility is so unfair. I was the only one when i went to an event or anywhere, at my age, who had no kids. So happy that's changed. I'm huge into natural cures now !!❤❤
