He even washed the sheets when she peed in bed... Just to like, really makes you realise how f up it is... I'm happy the anime took it far away from wife husbandry... Yes, this is a trope... Yes, it's very disturbing that there are still manga and stories of this...

Not so much. The bad one is the second session of the manga and it's made that way on purpose. The story is finished on the first session, the second session is only for some ppl who liked twisted story.
She is the daughter of his uncle or grandfather (I don't remember) from an illicit relationship, since the grandfather died and the girl's mother abandoned her... he ended up taking care of her. And I'm pretty sure they end up together and married at the end of the manga because Rin falls in love with Daikichi. She never saw him as a father... but she is still his aunt and he is her nephew xD Sooooo yeah .. the history is cute ... But is incest at the end As I mentioned, I read the manga many years ago. So I don't remember the details, Rin was the one who insisted on the relationship and for obvious reasons she was already a woman when she confessed to Daikichi. The controversial thing here is that it is believed that she is the grandfather's daughter. I'm sorry if I make a misunderstanding...the English is not my language is Espanish. For further explanation on how they got married. She started to have feelings for him because he raised her with care and love and she want to have his children and raise them the same way. He wasn't really interested in anyone despite what they show and didn't want to marry her. He told her when she grows up if she still has feelings for him, he would marry her and I think after college they get married. They have 22 age difference which is a lot but she made her choice after college which I hope by then people have matured enough to make their own choices. People trash talk because they are blood related which they aren't. And some others don't like the age difference while they are fine with 16 yo girls dating 30-50 yo men for money or men paying young girl for xxx. The hypocrisy of our society...
I think people are more sickened by the author concocting such a scenario that the father can't _not_ marry his kid, it feels like a self insert saying "I won't actively _pursue_ my daughter, but if she happens to land in my hands...", which is creepy.

I told them everyone is allowed to like whichever they like as long as there is concent. Let's just say that they got mad was the least thing that happened. That's his half-aunt from when his grandad banged one of his carers and then he died. The mother didn't want to take care of her so he took her in. And let's not forget that this is a Japanese manga so he ends up banging his adopted daughter who is actually his half-aunt when she's still a high schooler. And everyone just seems to be completely cool with it. Okey, he doesn't bang her but she falls in love with him and he reciprocates her feelings. Thankfully the anime ends way before she grows up so it's a pretty nice anime even though it's source material is written by a complete weirdo.

I think she was around 19-20 when she sort of admitted to liking him and wanted him to accept her but he laid it out if she still felt the same after college he would accept her feelings. There was no grooming from what I remember. She still wanted to be with him after college which he accepted. It’s been so long since I read it and the ethicality of the situation was a mess but the legality wasn’t.
A lot of people will read the comments on the manga and say gross, but the first time we truly fall in love is with our parents, what he did taking care of her takes a lot heart and determination, I support the end cus it's a true deep love that you can't hide from, it's a true love the most powerful love you can have
