Had bought the z, it was like 3 hours away when I found out that all you can do is double tap, that shit fucking pissed me off because a lot of reviewers didn't even think to mention that so I cancelled it then and there
100% - it's annoying. I got them free with a phone, so I can't really complain lol. It is less annoying than I thought though, at least for what I do with them (which is mainly listen to music.) You can set one to skip forward, one to skip back and then taking one out pauses. The only other two options you can assign to the double tap is play/pause or voice assistant. I don't really use the voice assistant and the taking out to pause thing covers that.
You saved yourself some time. I just got some AirPods Pro’s cause I switched from a OnePlus 7 Pro (rip, probably my favorite phone of all time) to an iPhone 12 Pro Max. My Buds Z sounded great, honestly I could say a little more bass than my AirPods, but they CONSTANTLY paused by themselves every time I moved my face muscles to smile or talk cause they would move in my ear and think I took one out. It was SO annoying. Plus like James said they had an awful interface. My AirPods have a much better interface plus ANC and Transparency mode. And then of course they “work like magic” because apple products. But yeah the whole pausing every time I moved my face or mouth was unbearable. Maybe they just didn’t fit in my ears well but I dealt with it for a few months because I’m a broke student but yeah definitely wouldn’t recommend.
@@steruset3590 I can see perfectly fine on my black ones though without anyone nearby being able to see it unless if they're looking at it. With white ones if you're nearby it sort of catches your eye that that persons earphones are filled with wax.
I know it's just a cable, but every detail adds up. "It doesn't matter. You're buying the buds, not a cable" is exactly the sentiment brands like Apple act on when they take the charger out of the box.
He says that becuz it just dont have colored insides. Apple removing the charger isn't the same thing as one plus not color matching the inside of the usb 😂 U got some issues if that's the deal breaker for u
Bruh, those are two *completely* different things you're comparing... Why would anyone care about the color inside a USB? On the other hand many people care about missing a charger in the box, as is the case with Apple.
It's one thing to not have a red inlay in the INSIDE of the connector which is something most priori will miss anyway and not including a pice of equipment you need for operation. And seeing that these are just 150$ and not 800$ I think it is fair game to safe a few cent on the custom cable ^^
@@MonicaHolly143 If all you see here is a comparison between Apple on OnePlus you're not paying enough attention. I'm pointing out the correlation between James' lower expectations and his perspective on getting what you paid for and how that leads to a company like Apple deciding you don't need a charger in the box, the phone is all you paid for. You got some issues if you think your misunderstanding is my problem.
My Samsung buds pro, the little rubbers pop off in my ear like that from time to time...makes me wanna go full hulk ... And you can't touch the dang things to re adj the fit without hanging up on someone.... even if you "ignore touch" in settings.
Yeah replaced them with some foam tips off amazon, actually improved sound and noise cancellation a lot and they fit the buds much better so they never fall off.
I usually adjust them by using a few fingers to grab them and push them from the sides. Only problem with them is the same with other headphones for me, when I smile the right one pops out of my ear a bit lol
@@Fab-- tbh if i have to buy extra 3rd party stuff to complete the package then it's not worth it, especially the "pro" name. just use taotronic sound liberty 79 which has physical buttons so I can adjust them freely and the rubber tips never come off
@@xudumusics8148 It's $10 more to improve them 20% imo that's worth it when the you're paying $180. And yeah I had the soundliberty 79s right before buying these, and don't get me wrong they're awesome for the price + loved that they were waterproof but the buds pro clearly has better sound and features that frequently come in handy for me like noise cancellation and passthrough.
@Yashwanth O it really depends on the person tho. I have the airpods pro, the galaxy buds and original airpods, and both galaxy buds and the pro keep falling off my ears(the galaxy buds are a bit easier) but holy smoke the original airpods stick in my ears like glue

I've had these for a few days and having ANC vs Transparecy makes a HUGE difference. I barely know when people are talking with ANC. I can have a totally normal conversation with Transparency.
Hey bro i have the OnePlus buds pro but In transperancy mode the earbuds is muffling the sound even though when there is no much noise is that a issue and is there any way to fix it
I'm still using the OnePlus Wireless Z even bought a couple extra pairs awhile ago because I was worried they would discontinue selling them (they may have now I havnt looked in awhile) . They're not the best sound quality in the world but they're not terrible they're great for talking on the phone and listening to podcasts and a 20-hour battery life (no case to pad time 20h straight in your ear playing) for wireless earbuds is crazy its like double most of the competition and they charge to near full in 10 minutes. And they were $29
Believing in Oneplus Bud's sensitivity is the worst thing to believe in. I'm using Buds Z, the earphones stops suddenly while listening to music. And there is no option to turn off the feature (ie, turn off music when earphone is removed)
9:47 Hate to have to explain this to you James, you being a tech reviewer and all. But you need two options selected when switching earbud modes, because if just noise cancellation selected, pressing the button won’t change anything because there’s only one option selected. And no, it won’t toggle on and off because one of the options you can select to toggle to is “Noise cancellation off”. They won’t let you do “whatever you want” because what you want to do is stupid as hell.
I think they look cool on their own but they look really tacky when you're wearing them. I don't know why you would want silver accents. I think even the case design looks tacky with the OnePlus name in shiny chrome instead of a less poppy traditional logo. Looks to me like the entire design was made to fit the aesthetic of what you would expect to find in a makeup bag instead of designing good looking headphones. Also, if the case is creaking that much out of the box I don't think it's going to hold up in the long term, especially since you will be pulling it in and out of your pockets.

I want these earbuds tested on a oneplus device, what's the use testing them on a random android device, it's the same as testing an airpods pro on an android device.
I have One Plus Bullet Wireless Zs, and I have to say that the battery life and charge time claims are pretty solid. I can use mine for a week at work (obviously not non-stop use) before I need to charge them.

Would love to see these up against the Nothing Ear 1 They are both in a similar price category with a close design. Maybe a future LTT video would be these and also against AirPod Pros and Galaxy Buds for the ultimate truly wireless earbud comparison.

Just got my OnePlus Buds Pro and what a bummer! The biggest "Plus" for me was it would be a breeze to connect to my OnePlus Pro 9 and it wouldn't. No controls popped up nor auto connect. Useless!

1:20 I believe the red inside the usb c is to signify it's dash/warp charge capable. This cable isn't dash/warp capable which is why its white on the inside... right? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong,
So many ear buds try and make an ergonomic shape, but one thing that is the stupidest design, is the part that goes in your ear. Whose ear hole is that shape? The best earbuds that I've tried was more like ear plugs, as in the fit in the ear perfectly without any gaps. Sadly they weren't mine though.
I preordered the Galaxy Buds 2. I watched this video concerned that I may have chose the wrong product since the OnePlus Buds Pro cost the same. However, after watching the video, I think the Buds 2 was the right buy.
Well if u have small ears and want to sleep with them the buds 2 are the ones. But i u want better sound quality/ better anc one plus buds pro are miles ahead.
@@ness9038 well I have big ears and sleep with them in every night. They still work like they're new and it was absolutely worth my money. I also have a Samsung phone which makes for a fluid experience.
These look great, but i usually dislike the feeling of silicone eartips in my ears. It sometimes feels sort of slitghly claustrophobic? Are there maybe foam eartips for these?
the galaxy pro earbuds tips always pop off in my ear when I take it out because they fit so well. they always come out, but the first time sure feels sketchy. nothing to worry about though... because mine have a mesh inside them, they wont fit completely into the earcanal... dunno about the oneplus ones, since they dont have that mesh
You mention the original OnePlus Buds. One of the best features of those is that you can switch and connect to the next (already paired) device by tapping and holding either of the earbuds. That is something NOBODY ELSE does. And they also did not bring it to the Pro. I just don't get it. Why is that so complicated? It saves you from so much pain when switching devices.
I literally had this happen with my Sony Wireless Buds that are my main on the go buds. And the tip got stuck in my ear, had to get the NHS to pull it out :/
This happened to me a long time ago at work lol, we wore in ears and the tip got stuck in my ear, trying to pull it out at work only sent it all the way up my ear canal to where we couldn’t see it anymore and I had to go to the hospital 😂😂
I don't understand why one would need different dynamic levels of ANC. If you've got anc on, surely you'd want it to be at maximum noise cancellation at all times, right? Because the entire point of ANC is to block as much noise as possible? I don't get it.
I think the word he tried to think of is “cheaper” not “budget”. But anyways, these headphones seem like they need a some software update, for example the fact that the different modes are indistinguishable makes me wonder if it is just not working properly.

@@Garro0 oh fr? I got them and theyre actually pretty good, granted i was suppoesd to get galaxy buds but they were out of stock. EDIT:Some of the only downsides of it is probably when you sleep with them they unpair sometimes, Bass is nonexistent but i dont really listen to bassy songs, And the double tap only which sucks, But other than that its solid.
@@laupoke had a OnePlus phone and ordered them when they released. They were also relatively inexpensive compared to the competition. I don't really see any issue with them and I'm usually pretty picky. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Man I still rememeber unbound my oneplus 3. Loved that damn phone. Packaging is on point even though it means nothing, at least the products are usually decent too
I want to ask something for a friend of mine. She has a cochlear implant on her left side and the processor also has bluetooth capabilities. Is it possible to use that together with these earbuds? The phone has to connect the left channel to her cochlear implant and the right channel to the right ear bud.
I thought ANC is more for white noises not people talking. Maybe should try them with some sound playing rather than just a person talking from far away?
Is the in-ear detection fixed? In buds z it is horribly broken, they pause so often when walking, it's ridiculous. OnePlus forums is full of people with this issue and OnePlus does not even acknowledge the issue.

Alternatives, with similar codecs and features. 2. Would replacing the tips with comply foam ones help Thanks in advance
Carl wouldn't settle for being just another phone maker. It's also funny that within 6-8 months he made a more compelling earbud for less money than these lol
