"I Don't Need The Church. I Have The Bible and The Holy Spirit." 

Keith I have recently discovered your channel. I am a Baptist but have just enrolled in my local Catholic Church's RCIA class. I encountered Christ on April 1 leading me to become Catholic (after saying no 20 years ago). Thank you so much for your work and your testimony; it really helps out a dude like me! Blessings.

I was having the same discussion with a protestant on X. He brought up this verse, and when I pointed out that Jesus was talking to the apostles, he got so upset.

Very well explained. Also The Church is the keeper of the Traditions. When a lot of people try to interpret the Bible on their own they don't take into account Christian history. I love reading the Catechism because it's beautifully written, but it also cites the writings of the early Christians.

I pray for a dialogue between you and Allie Beth Stuckey- she needs to hear from a Catholic who can speak her language. She seems respectful and genuinely curious but the people I’ve seen talk to her like Trent Horn and Farmer can’t seem to break through to a genuine conversation or get beyond semantical barriers.

When Luther died 1n 1546, He told his followers they did not need a church, just the Bible, but after his death, there were 100 Christian Churches all teaching different doctrines

The reformation was not a good thing. Are the people who praise it saying that before the 1600's, before Martin Luther split from the Catholic Church, no one was going to Heaven? SOOOO ... Martin Luther is their savior? Not Jesus? Martin Luther was a Catholic priest and he took books out of the Bible. Why? Wasn't the original bible Holy Spirit inspired already? Did the Holy Spirit change His mind? Seriously, who has the authority to decide that something doesn't belong in the Bible?!? Every time someone doesn't like what they are hearing in the church they are attending, they decide the Holy Spirit is leading them to another church. OR ... they decide to teach the "truth" on their own. Martin Luther created a split ... that led to more splits ... just endless splits. And every one of those churches will insist, that they are led by the Holy Spirit. Really? I, instead, think of it as a narcissistic demon of pride. They all think they are right, somehow they were chosen & enlightened - they have figured out what many people before them didn't ... and they don't want an authority! The angels who fell from Heaven didn't want an authority either. See how that worked out? If only people can see what the reformation really was: "A house divided amongst itself cannot stand." More and more people have fallen away from God. More marriages collapse for silly things like irreconcilable differences, more families are fractured. Sin is minimized and accepted now as people co-habitate and have babies out of wed-lock. If a non-believer sees believers arguing amongst themselves ... they want nothing to do with any of our churches. I, myself, had a restless spirit (my own spirit, not the Holy Spirit), so I bounced from church to church ... but God led me back home to the Catholic Church. I'm never leaving again.

Well said that the Holy Spirit guides the church in truth and it's very dangerous for people to go on their own and make up their own religion. Thank you.

The church is the dwelling place of our lord in the eucharist. The fullness of our Catholic faith is in the participation in the supper of the lamb.

Someone wrote that Jesus never gone in a church. But, in my opinion, He himself consecrated the first Church (building) in history: the house where the Last Supper took place! Where the first EUCHARIST was celebrated by Jesus himself. Where the first priests in History were consecrated (the Apostles). Moreover, very quickly this house which according to tradition belonged to a relative of SAINT-MARC was transformed into a Church and still exists today and everyone can visit it. Keith I am Protestant and came across one of your videos the other day. Since then I've watched several of them. I love the fact that you hit subjects head on and don't back down. Also I like the passion you have, but at times you almost sound angry. In many of the videos I've watched, you usually get a little dig in and I get it you are passionate. Personally that sort of stuff makes me not want to keep watching. That goes for the Protestant videos as well. I've had many friends through the years that were Catholic. One right now that is a very dedicated deacon in the Catholic church. He truly is one of the best men I've ever known. As you can imagine we've had our debates (sometimes heated) but we've always tried to remain respectful without the digs.

I was a catholic for 45 long years but the subtle spiritual difference in me after I left the church....and now a believer is that now I boldly speak about JESUS CHRIST to any one and every where mind you not forcing my self....until and unless the situation and circumnstances demand.....but this was not happening with me when I was a catholic mind you I dont want to demonize the catholic church by any stretch of imagination after all I had the basic teachings about JESUS CHRIST when I was a Catholic.

Jesus said : "Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day" So, come back to the EUCARIST ! because a christian is saved NOT by Scriptures but by indeed the FLESH and the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST !

Short and accurate. 33,000 denominations (some count 40,000) proves the point. And we're not talking minor or cultural differences. Major doctrinal differences. But what of division even within the Catholic Church? The answer is Our Lady of Akita 1972 - warning that "the demon will enter the church.... bishops against bishops, cardinals against cardinals". In other words, each time there is major doctrinal (not cultural) differences, it's the work of the Devil. And so, 33,000 denominations, not a good sign.

Outside the Church, there is no salvation.

With individual personal interpretation of the Bible, this brings thousands of different denominations all contradicting each other. Many of these denominations all claim to be led by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides us to one true, not multiple ones.

A Protestant response. Historic Protestantism has never ever taught “me, my Bible, and the Holy Spirit”. In fact, it firmly rejects it. Neither has it ever taught that you don’t need the Church or that the Church is unimportant. In fact it has taught the exact opposite.

When the word is preached, it is the Holy Spirit that convicts every believer, without the Holy Spirit people will be deceived, lies will be disguised as truth, just like most Catholic doctrines, Mary worship, purgatory etc

The Chruch bring the accountability. I dont trust myself enough to take the bet against losing communion with God. Its a losing bet. When people say these things they have made themselves God. If you worship yourself that just makes you a gnostic heretic.

I had a coworker who was having a hard time. I suggested maybe she should try to go to Church. She said all she needed was the bible. Since she was not dieing she did not nees to go to chuch. I just don't understand.

John 17:17 ESV Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. Does the church help us in our weakness? Does the church intercede for us with groanings too deep for words? Does the church search the hearts and knows what is the mind of the Spirit? Does the church intercede for the saints according to the will of God? Do all things work together for good, for those who are called according to the churches purpose? Are we sealed with the promises of the church? Does the church give us the guarantee of our inheritance??? Does God transformed the heart? Do those in the vine produce fruit? Does god prune those in the vine? Does even the fool walk the way? Are we not regarded as sons for correction? Does God cause us to walk in his rules and statutes? The Roman church like every church introduces nothing new in all of history outside of scripture other than a accretion practices of extra biblical ORIGIN found no where in scripture and the only way to justify those practices is to degrade scripture itself. Take scripture out and the entire foundation falls apart. The church turns pagan and falls on the whims of human fallibility. Scripture existed long before the church. At least a millennia. Always search the original text before Christ because only Christ can be proven by the original text and only the spirit can be understood by the original text.

And tgats why there are 45,000 Protestant denominations out there all claiming the truth. Christ founded only 1 church not thousands !

In Catholicism, there is only one Holy Spirit. In Protestantism, there are literally millions of Holy Spirits. 😂😅😅

2 Timothy 2:15. As far as John 16, Jesus was actually talking to the house of Israel. They relied on their oral traditions at the time, and the Holy Spirit was to guide them. This ceased in AD70. Revelation ceased in AD66. The Holy Spirit does not teach today, but rather, convicts and enlightens. Even if the HS did teach today, it is ironic to claim the HS will teach this person but not that person as if you have the infallible truth. Only the gullible buys into this.

I’m curious your thoughts on forgiveness of sins. If Jesus died on the cross for forgiveness of all sin, why do we need to constantly confess to a priest? I’m aware some say Jesus gave authority to his disciples to forgive sins… but this was before the cross not after? (I’m Catholic but questioning a few doctrines at the moment, please be kind)
