Please folks stay your pitchforks but I’ve been replaying AC Valhalla and I think it might be my favorite of the more “modern” rpg style AC games. I’ve been focusing strictly on the main narrative arcs and that’s really about it. I’m not fussing about with open world loot either unless it’s in my immediate area or direct path. Playing it in 2-4 hour bursts at a time is also proving very beneficial as it is very easy to burn yourself out with a game as massive as Valhalla
prince of persia sands of time trilogy. getting chased by the dahaka while I stand alone by godsmack is being blasted in warrior within. but man... splinter cell, ghost recon, the assassin's creed featuring Desmond, beyond good and evil... Ubisoft used to be the best and it was my dream as a kid to work there. It's sad to see how far they have fallen but the Ubisoft we loved HAS been dead for a long time already. a comeback with the people running this shit show of a company is simply impossible. Let this be the final nail in the coffin and a message to other publishers and developpers
@@MrSilz-jb4ik It would be better if they succeeded with something good. That would send an even better message to other companies. And if Ubisoft fails then franchises like Assassin's Creed are gone.
@@Patatras_5325 after what they did to Patrice Desilets they should they bite the hand that feeds em. I could care less about em, and I used to like em.
@@oliveiraluis3540 still in my humble opinion the ubisoft from 20010-2016 heck even 17 was peak ubisoft After that it basically started on the whole woke trend and it started declining Apparently it due to a big internal structure thing I mean come on it the same ole to many managers that want different things and not enough level head people and devs Rip Ubisoft you’ll be missed my whole childhood was ubi games still feels sad seeing it now even if it deserved
@@cihaterdogan6901 they won’t cause they got they own ip to worry bout spending almost 10 billion to get a IP when you know u got a IP that cost more then is just plain stupid
@@Trench-coatnot really I like ac Valhalla an odyssey is my favorite beat both of them 3 times an going for another run they just gotta get back to what they was doing in 2012-2016
It all started with fortnite and the battleroyal craze imo, every single game company started making similar games and forgot what made them great in the first place.
I loved Assassins Creed Unity. I think it's my favourite game from the franchise. The city, the crowd, the movement across the buildings. I liked black flag, 2, and Origins a lot, but Unity has something trully special.
yeah and they did not take the time to optimise the game. If a game like red dead redemption 2 can run well on a ps4, watchdogs should as well - it's all about taking the time to optimise the game.
ubisoft had its time and its gone now, the nostalgia cant keep it alive anymore. they have absolutly slandered tom clancys legacy and destroyed every single IP they created in the last 30 years. they deserve to fade out like a spec of dust. they gave us shit, people kept buying that shit and now they should just fly away and be forgotten of what they made in the last 10 years but remembered as an important foundation to what made games important back in the 90's and 2000's.
Its really nice that you pointed out the janky gameplay mechanics that Ubisoft needs to work on, character movement and dynamics are something that rockstar has mastered.
Love me some far cry… I am actually playing far cry 6 for the first time right now and had some fun with AC mirage earlier this year. They just don’t seem to know how to innovate anymore…
Now that I think about it Watch Dogs was the first time gaming company had a demo look so different from the game in terms of performance and graphics. I remember it being a big deal.
While I do 100% agree on your observation and the points you make, I can't help but feel conflicted about the fact that you seem to have bought many of the bad games you mentioned in your video. This behavior encourages Ubisoft to continue releasing bad games. For my part I haven't bought any Ubisoft title I consider as bad just like other gamers which seem to have noticed this pattern. Now since their revenues are dropping, they are rightfully in a bad state which forces them to change at least (although we all very well know probably not for the better, but in the best case we'll get rid of a bad game publisher making path for other games).
Fair point. For me at least now buying and examining these newer games allows me to tell my audience that it’s not worth the money. Before I was just a casual Ubisoft fan buying ever game but now I generally only buy a game I know I want to make a video on. For me and I stand by this - you can’t claim to think something is truly bad or truly good until you have played it or engaged with it in the way it was intended. Thats why I bought a game everyone told me was bad (kill the justice league) to engage with it and give it a fair shot. Afterwards I decide if it is truly bad. I have always done this. I never watch any review before playing something because I want my opinion to be my own.
I grew up with Ubisoft with their games like Rayman and Rabbids. Then imas I got older I got to play their mature games like Far Cry. It’s unfortunate how Ubisoft is in this spot rn.
I resonate with the initial experiences you had in gaming, not exactly but I do. Although I did start off my gaming journey with the dooms, , nfs 2's and gta vice city's (early 2000's) it was in the early 2010's that I feel like I really cemented gaming as one of my hobbies, and at that time was when I was hit with assassins creed 1, gta IV, racedriver grid, cod black ops 2 and many more gems. Assassin's creed 1 stands out. It was the most unique experience I had had, in a long time. Since then I looked forward to every new AC game. The ungodly amount of time I have spent plaving black flag, is a testament to the amount of love I , used, to have for the franchise. It genuinely pains me to say "used to" . Games that I was always dying to play, on my shitty pc, at like 15 fps, became an afterthought. To think I had bought a hoodie for this franchise at some point. It was just last year that I got around to playing Unity. I'm thankful I saved it till now. I liked it, but it still isn't what I wanted to love. It was not nostalgia, and I say this because I'm one of those people who play games long after release. I played the entirety of the half life(1 & 2 not alyx) and max payne series in 2023. They still hit, superb games. Why does unity, which came after or very close to the last games in these 2 franchises , not hit the same? Its complacency. laziness. a focus on the wrong things, just like you said. Ubisoft got too comfortable with us just eating up anything they are serving. I still haven't played origins, and i dont plan to play either odyssey or valhalla, or anything that comes up in the near future. I have given up. Unlike you, I cannot take this anymore, and truly do want Ubisoft to just go away. I do feel seriously bad for the employees , but I just feel its for their own good in the long run. I feel this way cos I have separated the art from the corporation. It was the devs that made the games, yes, they were able to because of Ubi, but its a corporation at the end of the day, and it holds no power over the experience I have with the art. The problem with what I'm saying is that its very ideal in nature. Even if I separate the two entities, doesn't mean that they are so, in the real world. I don't want the games , or the franchise to die. Ubi is dying however, and thus it is dragging along with it, all of its IP's dying corpses. And in desperate attempts at grasping onto straws, its further destroying its franchises. I just can't stand to see this. At this point I just want Ubisoft to die, because then at least the franchise will get respite from the mutilation. Its just sad all around.
Thank you for sharing your gaming journey! It's always refreshing to connect with someone who understands the emotional rollercoaster of being a dedicated gamer. Your insights are really valuable, and I appreciate your perspective on the industry! I think it can go two ways... Ubisoft could simply die or they could use this as a wake up call like Capcom did a few years ago and now Capcom is one of the best publishers. Only time will tell...
@@Trench-coat yeah, time truly will tell. If it goes on like this, by which i mean how Ubisoft just keeps doubling down on their mistakes, and blaming the consumers, its just hard to believe its going anywhere good 😥 like think of these companies like trucks with failed brakes, capcom just saved itself in the nick of time , they are a relatively small truck, compared to the behemoth that Ubisoft is, it will be VERY hard to stop it with the huge inertia it has, its almost like a runaway train.
Absolutely, one of the best games I played in the last year. I am going to a one year later video for it cause it deserves more love and attention. One of the few games from Ubisoft that sold poorly but was so innovative and fun.
Watchdogs 1 to this day is very very next gen feeling. The civillian animations and aidens movement is so good Edit : just finished modding my custom merge for wd1 and it literally plays and looks better than 2012. Not to mention watchdogs 2 extended mod that released just today. Fans love wd series its Ubisoft that doesn't loves its franchises 🇮🇳🙏
I don't want Ubisoft to die. I want them to improve and be better like seriously i don't want franchises like assassin's Creed and far cry and watchdogs and others go away
Watch Dogs 2, Far Cry 5, Assassin's Creed: Origins hell even Wildlands after all the updates, showed that Ubisoft CAN be competent if they genuinely tried, yet they choose not to and just continue to publish yearly slop instead. I dislike them as much as the other guy too, but I do not wish for the complete death of the company, I think most of us just wish that this would make them realise that whatever the hell they were doing right now ISN'T WORKING, and would finally lead to a massive restructuring and resetting their priorities again before it was too late for them.
I used to be a massive fan of Ubisoft. Let it die, if it wants to die. The latest trend in AAA gaming has made me realise that the companies don't care about gamers but expect gamers to be hardcore fans and just buy anything they are given. I don't have to be a fan, I am a paying customer...and this paying customer will only buy video games and products that make sense to me.
I think the biggest problem with companies like Ubisoft is a lack of talent. I reckon they have lost the majority if not all of the people who worked during it's golden era. And have failed to replace the talent who understands the franchises and their significance to gamers globally.
I actually argue the opposite. They have the talent, they are just too big that it becomes almost impossible to make visionary games anymore because you have to manage a team of 1000+ people working on one game. So they make the games a bit more simple in order to manage the project better...
40K people on Ubisoft and still making absolute trash after trash. CDPR learns from Cyberpunk 2077 that having more staff to work on a game isn't always a good thing.
I agree, they just need to change their ways. Everyone acting like their games dropped in quality ever since they became woke and microtransactions. uhhh not really. The only kind of bad assassins creed game was Valhalla every other assassins creed was amazing. I really want them to just change their ways. I don’t trust tencent a Chinese mobile game company with assassins creed.
It really sucks that Ubisoft fell this hard cause I love their games. I played almost every AC game on the 360 (minus Rogue and Revelations), I played Far Cry 3-5, Rayman Legends and I recently played Splinter Cell: Blacklist for the first time and I really enjoyed it. Sure there was still good games post Watch Dogs 1 like AC: Origins, Watch Dogs 2 and Far Cry 5 and hell, the new Prince of Persia is pretty fun. But their newer games are either disappointing, boring or garbage, like AC: Valhalla, Star Wars Outlaws, Far Cry 6, Watch Dogs: Legion and Skull and Bones. Valhalla is a big example of this cause while it's a fine game, the game is boring and the story had no reason to be 60 hours. I really wanna hope that Shadows is one of the best games to come out since Far Cry 5 because Feudal Japan is a great setting for Assassin's Creed and the gameplay differences between Yasuke and Naoe look more interesting than Jacob and Evie or even the gender swapped versions of the leads from Odessey and Valhalla. Although I wish it was like the old games and not a RPG, I do think it has a chance at being one of the best RPG era AC games. I wanna say I want it to be good, but I know that Ubisoft is gonna screw it up somehow like Skull and Bones back in 2022
I think we all share this sentiment. I am hopeful for shadows but can’t deny I wish it was like the old games. The game that really excites me is the next AC game. Assassin’s Creed Hexe!
I hope they do ,they are not what they used to be ,I’m ok with day one and pre order skins but prelocking missions before release and selling it in different 120$ edition is fucked up And who Else gona forget micro transactions in a single player game wtf is that no way
It's such a bummer to see them mess things up. Let's just hope they get their act together and start giving us the epic games they used too. One can hope...
Assassin's Creed Far Cry Watch Dogs Splinter Cell The Division Ghost Recon Prince of Persia The Crew Riders Republic Immortals Steep Rayman Driver Valiant Hearts, Child of LIght, Rabbids.... my favorite franchises right there. I DEFINITELY DON'T WANT UBISOFT TO DIE. maybe what's happening to them right now is necessary for them to realize how much they've been messing and screwing around.
It is better that Ubisoft dies now then when it has turned in to a grotesque hulk of its former self the only way to save any of your habbies sadly is for people to come to the terms that this attack on culture is purely political
It rly saddens me that Ubisoft reached this low, i used to be a big fan of them their games used to be a story to experience and now its just milking some shitt together and throw it out in public and wait for luck to be on their side otherwise they’ll blame the fans for expecting too much from them
Always online single player game filled with microtransaction and bugs that costs more than $120 for full edition. If they die then they die, AC Syndicate was the last UBI game I pre ordered / purchased for full price. For me to personally buy a UBI game these three things needs to happen. - Available on Steam and will not require additional launcher to play the game. - Signleplayer Game or Signleplayer Portion (Campaign) needs to be offline. - Signleplayer Game or Signleplayer Portion (Campaign) needs to be microtransaction free.
@@bigben9056 I agree, so much negativity in the gaming space. I think wanting a place to fail is a terrible way to live… we don’t want them to fail we want them to be better. Clear distinction.
Ubisoft isnt going to die, it will most likely get replaced though. It definitely needs replacement since the devs in charge of the company have destroyed the legacy of ubi
i love assassins creed franchise alot brooo ...i have played each and every game of creed from brotherhood and blackflag to origin, valhalla and odyssey and i loved each and every one... i really like their new more rpg based title ngl
The end of the Video is Depressing , But it was always inevitable ! I hope they will somehow make a comeback , otherwise it is a Good Bye To Our Childhood !
@@Trench-coat No need to apologise sir ! Ubisoft would have listened to us , but now it's either a do or die situation for them ! By The Way Nice Video ~ I Hope Next One will be Less Serious 👀
I want Ubisoft to die. What they did to Assassin's Creed is horrible. I grew up playing AC games, since I got the first AC in PC in 2008, when I was 8. I would buy the games on release until 2015, when I gave up disillusioned due to the lack of direction and respect. It was such an amazing franchise, combining so many great elements from different genres. They had lightning in a bottle but they fumbled it by chasing trends, despite having previously been trend-setters. Now AC looks nothing like it should be, and the fanbase has given up on the series.
There has not even been an AC game since Syndicate (and that was a terrible one). The "AC" games since 2016 spit on everything AC was, as they do not even adhere to half of the 20 rules of the AC Brand Bible, written in 2008 by AC's original creators.
They deserve it, they have done it to themselves. It’s not like we didn’t give them input while still buying there games. We have been calling for years for a proper AntiCheat on PC to combat hacker infested lobbies in Rainbow Six siege other than a one from 2014 they never listened. The game is dying and so is the company.
I loved the old assassins creed games like brotherhood and relevations... But I think rainbow six siege is a top tier game in fps genre and I feel like its kinda better than other fps games out there... It's so well thought out concept and well enough implemented gameplay... Yes it has some questionable decisions made that made the game less enjoyable for some people... Like why did you remove night maps if you have fixed the lighting issue... You need to bring that back.. Bad speed of new content updates in year 9... Cheaters and hackers are a big problems and it's Anticheat is the worst in the industry... THEY ARE DOING JACKSHIT FOR THE PROBLEMS...
@@Trench-coat yes but they are correct of doing no sequel cause it doesn't really hit... Look at overwatch 2... I don't really believe in Ubisoft devs to not f this up if they scratch and make a new sequel... Ubisoft head dev said that he isn't looking to do siege 2.0...
About the games every year is good concept by me but not for every franchise like ubisoft needs to take time to release good games and also change ways in their making them but some games can be released every year like i think RGG studio releases yakuza every year and games are good but also ubisoft changed because they got greedy and dont care about consumers like almost every AAA company so lets hope dead old ubisoft comes from dead somehow i really want that to happen
All things come to an end my friend they don't deserve to survive, and I'm an assasins creed fan since number one, and have played all of em but Valhalla really pissed me off it was so similar to odyssey same game just diffrent decorations. Watch dogs franchise should of been the new gta but it probably most forgettable franchise they developed too splinter cell nothing mgs5 was over 10 years ago and if you not into hitman like me we thirsting for a stealth Aaa of quality.
When will they understand that the majority of the games don't care about DEI and the ones who do are the vocal minority. One thing that these woke culture is good at is expressing their thoughts loudly and they make an effort to be heard even if they have to force it on others. The majority of us dont make the effort to speek out or atleast not as much as we should, we choose to look the other way and stay silent. When Ubisoft opens their mails they see hunderds of email from activists demanding DEI so Ubisoft think that what the community wants.
You may not want Ubisoft to die, but unfortunately it already happened a long time ago. The people who created the Ezio games, Black Flag, Splinter Cell etc are largely gone. Replaced by diversity hires and DEI activists, which is why the games they release these days are also always buggy and unfinished (and as a fellow South African I KNOW you're well aware of what politically driven "brain-drain" can do to productivity). Ubisoft is dead already, don't pine away for the creature currently wearing its skin suit.
