Jazza, fairy may not be a type with the cards anymore but it still is very much a type in the video games. :)

Primeape actually got a ghost-fighting type evolution named Annihilape in Generation 9. It basically got so angry that it died and manifested as a ghost of anger, it's a pretty cool design!

Jazza: Fairy types are soft, pink, and cute :3 Mimikyu: If you look at me once I may accidentally burn your eyes out.

Primate becoming ghost type was just perfect - especially because Gen 9 introduced a ghost type evolution Annihilape👀👀

One note on fairy types is that they can represent tricksters so if the Pokémon is sharp-looking, you can make it mischievous instead.

Fairy types aren't always soft and cutesy. Think of the kinds of mystical creatures in fairytales, you can find whimsical spirits that are both benevolent and sinister. Eevee's Fairy evolution Sylveon encapsulates this idea well; it's soft with pastel colors and has soft shapes throughout, and its soothing feelers have a kind of eldritch air to them when you realize they're basically flapping tendril appendages that are used to hypnotize others. In the same generation, there's the legendary Xerneas, an elegant deer that has life-bringing powers, and transforms into a tree when it is dormant But at the same time, there's Pokémon like Fidough, Alcremie and Slurpuff. I guess Pokémon made out of food is quite uncanny.. so adorable you could literally eat them up lol If I had to sum up what makes a Fairy type in two words, it would be "beautifully bizarre"

What makes the Primeape + Ghost even more funny is what Pokemon did in Gen 9 with Primeape

So fairy types are actually still a thing, but the TCG got rid of them. Both dragon and fairy types are prevalent in the main series games. I'm not sure if you were aware of that, but just in case.

I thought I had some good ideas for the ghost Primeape name, but once I wrote them down, Polterape and Poltergape sounded a lot worse than I realized 😬

I kept sitting here thinking about Grimmsnarl and how cool some of the fairy type pokemon could turn out but I'm not entirely sure Jazza knows about that one in particular lol.

I like how Jazza's approach to fairy pokemon is just round rounder the roundest

Honestly, another thing you coudk do with fairy type is make them more thin and elegant, plus more flowy things like ribbons

In all honesty, as cute as the Fairy attempts are, I can't help thinking that you're missing out on how eerie and terrifying fairy tales were prior to Disney-fication. Creatures like the kelpie, the headless horseman, the kappa, all of them are considered fairy tales and we're meant to teach children lessons in safety when the world around them was terrifying. Mimikyu is a perfect example of the traditional Fairy from older stories, and I feel like there needs to be more Fairy types like Mimikyu.

Fairy is still very much a type! It is in Violet and Scarlet, and they got so much more varied and strong moves than ever!

Funny enough Primeape was just given a ghost evolution in the new generation.

OMG. First of all, the fact that you got Ghost Primeape with the new Ghost/Fighting Annihilape being a Gen 9 evolution is amazing. Also, Fairy typing is definitely still in the video games, even if it isn't in the cards.

Hey Jazza, for future reference, Fairy Type isn't literally just cute type, it incorporates alot of themes of nature, tricks and mythology. Could also be the goodness type Like perhaps sweet food or candy, something along the lines of Adventure Time

this is such a good idea for people like me who want to art but never know what to draw 😅 for a harder challenge you could probably just add a second typing I think fairydactyl is my favourite, I'd totally add that to my team kabupops looks like if you tried to make Barney into a Halloween costume primeapparition looks like they could be the missing link between primeape and annihilape, the new ghost evolution, I like it a lot

both fusions and delta types have explored this concept, and I find it super fascinating seeing what a pokemon could have looked like as a different type

My favorite of these is the primeape, I imagine that busted chains would have been an awesome concept for it. Keep up this concept, I love it to death!

Primate was the strongest mash up. Really good job there with that one and Kangaskhan was really good too. However, Aerodactyl just looks like a purpleish Dragonite. Love to see more of these.

That Kangas redesign is actually super cool. I like the idea of them starting off blue and changing colors as they get older.

I think the Ghost-Type Primape would be a cool addition to a Thailand Pokémon Region. They could be the ghost of monks who have gone into the afterlife, honored among their piers.

These looks great but I think a fun name for the first one would be Kangus-Coil lol and I love how jazzer's last one is almost cannon with scarlet and violet lol

Fairy type never went away in the games, only the card game because they strip out the typings a lot! :) There's also something called regional variants that have been a thing since generation 7 that have been pretty similar to this kinda concept (older pokemon but with completely different types, for example they did ice type ninetales) - wouldn't say there's anything cursed about your idea here! Really hope you do more content past kanto soon - your gen 2 starter terrariums were a breath of fresh air for example, kanto is already everywhere! Think I like the kangaskan best!

Electric Kangaskhan and Ghost Primeape were awesome, and even though the Fairy fossil-mons look nothing like their original counterparts, would definitely still catch them.

They may be pink and cute but Fairy types will f*ck you up. They eat Dragons for breakfast and if you read the 'dex entries there aren't only sweet, storybook fairies, but also the chaotic forces of nature type fae that steal babies and tear you apart if you have an emotion within 30 miles of them. And they absolutely can be sharp and look badass: Zacien, Xerneas, Mawile, Grimmsnarl, to name a few. Fairy types are awesome. The amount of times I carried a whole team through Dynamax Adventures in SW/SH with a Klefki is ridiculous. Also 10/10 on that Kakuna, had me in stitches.

I love the fairy Aerodactyl because you know for a fact because it's a fairy type it's going to have a horrific Pokedex entry "It uses its large underbite to grapple on to ancient Pokemon and crush their skulls" "Using their dragonfly wings they can reach speeds up to Mach 5" I think jazza adding the hippo mouth made me think of that because hippos are known for being extremely vicious and deadly

I loved this. I'm a poke nerd and I drew up a concept art for a ghost eeveelution and I had so much fun with it, using other Eevee evolutions as reference and other ghost types to drive home the look. Much fun love to see more gens added

I like that the ghost type primape doesn’t look as close to primape as annihilape, because annihilape is an evolution that keeps the fighting type, still dealing ghastly blows, while the ghost type swap is just a pure ghost type, so it trades it’s punches for spirit powers.
