As a fellow asian also born and raised in the US, going to Mexico is truly another world, and i haven’t found another place quite as active or unashamed to be vibrant and themselves. Always ready to share their culture, food, and languages. People just seem to be more genuine in Mexico, especially when they have their big families around.

Always welcomed to Mexico every time you like! Here in Puebla city you should try chiles en nogada (by August)., tacos árabes, and gemirás poblanas with milanesa. I forgot to mention mérmelas with your choice of red or green chili sauce, enjoy and greetings!!

With the Internet the whole world has become smaller in a sense just between us America's become very corrupt so It would be nice to know people that still have traditions

This is so beautiful!!! also Mexico is such a huge country filled with delicious foods that vary by region. In some parts of Mexico you are most likely to eat menudo or stews in general with tortillas, others with bread, and other regions eat their stews with red Mexican rice. Mexican cuisine goes way beyond and is so diverse.

I'm glad that you enjoyed our food, the batter used for "Chiles Rellenos" is just egg. You Whip the egg white so it takes volume, then add the egg yolk and mix it. Then you take your "Chiles" previously roasted, peeled and stuffed with queso (cheese) cover them in flour and dip them on the egg, then you fry them on a pan with hot cooking oil.

The best burritos I've ever had were in Ciudad Juarez. They are way different than the rice filled mission burritos you see in Northern California. The ones I tried kept it simple: no more than maybe three ingredients. The less is more method worked so well--especially given how well prepared the ingredients were. So much good food in Chihuahua!

As a Korean-American… My parents lived there for almost 30 yrs. Moved there from ATL,GA. They loved it. I have mixed feelings about ELP. My daughter was born there and that’s where I bought my first house, I have a feeling I must have been a Mexican, born and raised there, in a parallel life. 😂. I kept getting pulled back to ELP. ELP has been doing a lot to elevate the city, parts of downtown has changed soooooo much. The chilaquiles I love are different, tortillas with eggs, cheese, and green chiles. My friend’s husband makes the best and best refried beans ever, but they live in Tucson Arizona though. 😭🤣

The food looked delicious! The green chile in the tamales and chile relleno burrito is chile chilaca, also known as Anaheim green peppers, widely grown in the state of Chihuahua, and the orchata is basically made with rice and water! Juarez is where the burritos were invented! I enjoyed your adventure very much! Wonderful takes and scenery from Franklin Mountain! Street scenes and food locations are awesome! Definitely like your video! As a Mexican-American, I enjoy this type of food all the time. Just for future reference, CH in Spanish is pronounced the same as you would say 'cheese' but SH is different since the H in Spanish is silent, with the exception of CH. When you say 'deshebrada' it's actually pronounced des-e-BRA-da because of the silent H.

They mostly serve menudo blanco with bread (bolios) in Mexico City. In California we use bolios or corn tortillas with menudo & call flautas: taquitos, & are only served with guacamole-avocado. Not in a soup. We were surprised visiting my husband’s dad’s family in El Paso to eat this different style. Everything floating that’s called Brandao (bath). Now that we live nearby we make our own that we grew up with in Los Angeles. The Chinese markets sell the concha pandulce because both countries were influenced by the French.

Love this video and your love for Mexican food, few things were wrong but the one that bugs me the most is people think that tripe is intestines, The Tripe in the menudo is the stomach. Tripa tacos are intestines and that’s where the confusion comes from. I love menudo so every time I have to convince someone to try it I have to explain this, its a common misunderstanding 😅

I have to explain to people too that tripe is the lining of the stomach. Intestines are completely different.

@@Jazminzesati I mean, for my family, a chile relleno is a stuffed, battered, fried chile. Did they put that stuffed, battered, fried chile inside the tamal? 🤷🏻‍♀️

As someone that has lived in El Paso for 20 years, this is the first time I have ever seen anyone on the internet make a video about it. So happy you stopped by Kiki's while you were here. Hopefully it made up for the Chico's Tacos. 😂

Tex Mex food is the American version of “Mexican food” but can’t match the immense richness and variety of flavors that Mexican gastronomy has!! Welcome to Mexico and explore the north, centre, and south to know and enjoy; greetings from Puebla, Mexico!!

The green tamal sauce is not w poblano :) it’s made w tomatillo verde which is like a sort of mini green tomato and it’s used in all of Mexico it’s not a thing just in the North :) poblano doesn’t give off that vibrant almost neon green and it also doesn’t give off that acidity

VIVA EL PASO MI CUIDAD SIEMPRE! I have been putting off watching this because it makes me so very homesick! You went to many of my favorite places in El Paso, that’s the side of town I grew up in! Manhattan Heights is where my grandparents bought their house, raised my mom, her siblings and then me and my siblings and lived for 70+ years. This summer my grandpa passed and we are selling their home in that area. His favorite restaurant was Kiki’s and it hit me hard seeing you go- it’s a family tradition to eat there for us. To hear you talk about your love for the city had me in tears, I felt beyond represented and am very touched by this video… my childhood in a nutshell- THANK YOU!

hey, that hortacha must have been made with rice and not tigernuts… because it is Spanish horchata which is made with tigernuts. As for mexican one, i think it is made with rice, cheers!

My best friend proposed to his wife in Puerto Vallarta. Best vacation I’ve been on. The locals were very friendly and the food was great. I live in California so there are plenty of Mexican food places around but authentic Mexican food taste nothing like the usual Mexican food at home. My friend suggested a few places that sells something similar but the prices are on the expensive end.

Interesting because i am from California about an 2 hours up from Mexico. The mexican food we have in the area is all considered Tex Mex. I always thought Tex Mex is just the US/Mexican mix that becomes our normal “Mexican food” Crazy how when she crossed into Mexico even the Chilaquiles was soooo different from the US version. We have the California burrito that adds fries & in Oregon they have their own version but eith potatoes.

i dont understand why "tex mex" is even a term, they add cheddar cheese and ground beef on mexican food and decided to call it something else. It's funny. @@marb5110

The thing about Chico's is always ask a local how we eat it. You're supposed to eat the tacos (flautas) with a fork, so you don't get the sauce all over your hands and fingers. You were right in pouring the green salsa into the taco boat, but the pro (and local) move is to dip and scoop the leftover red / green salsa and cheesy goodness with your fries. It doesn't get better than that. The hot dog is also a local thing, so most out of towners won't get it. Understandable. I liked it when I was a kid. ;) Kiki's is bomb and you ordered some hits, but they're known for their Machaca plate which is legendary. Besides a Mexa, only a Korean would truly appreciate a bowl of Menudo. 😂 El Centenario (and El Compa across the street) are the OG and best burritos in J-Town. You're very fortunate to have tried them. Legend has it that one of the pans used there is 75 years old! More impressive is they survived the cartel wars of the early 2000s. BTW, Topo is the king of sparkling waters.
