We just got some more Scary AI News for Videogames
Embracer, the video game and media company that owns games like Borderlands and Tomb Raider has announced a new AI policy to massively enhance game development. In many corporate words they essentially say they will be using AI to enhance anything that they are working on.
They have also stated that AI will empower workers to help them create more powerful experiences in the same amount of time. As a reference, Embracer has laid of 1,500 employees and cancelled 80 projects during the past year, but I guess we will have to wait and see on what happens next.

Borderlands is about a really fucked up universe. Could you imagine actually tormenting AI. You could be being a boss so one-sidedly that the boss actually gets upset

I agree with dangerous beans. Not to mention, they laid off 1500 employees? That's 1500 people who suddenly lost a job and were likely replaced by the AI that was brought in by Embracer.

It’s plastic and barely any effort was put in it, it feels like you playing something so the company can grab money off you, not give a fun and human experience

@@bluelemonade415yeah a tool made out of plastic, the whole point of games are to make it entertaining and making it with ai, is gonna make it more of a cash grab. BL3’s bad, but it’s bad because humans can improve on it with the players, AI only listens to the one giving in input
