I wish more people understood that food can be just as addictive as anything else. The chemicals that goes into foods don't help with this and there is no one talking about these addictive additives.

Exactly! these companies created products and snacks with the intention of them being addictive, not filling, not nutritious, dont care what happens to your body with disease and disorders. 'Added' Sugar is a drug to our system, addictive and damaging
@jakecooper5855
@jakecooper5855 2 года назад
The scary thing is that the obvious problem ingredient is sugar. It can become highly addictive for many people and cause physical and mental withdrawal symptoms when they don't have it. This is no secret, but most people ignore it. I think even if obese people knew the dangers of the other chemicals, it wouldn't be enough to make them change. It's the same sort of thing with smoking and how many people are addicted to that, with the full knowledge that the ingredients are killing them and the people closest to them.

Exactly right. So many kinds of super sugars that you can't tell what it is by reading the label. Would be healthier to make all sweets for sure at home. Use pure sugar then you may only need 1 piece of cake. The industry packs this stuff with addictive addictive. They know what they're doing, just anything to make a buck.

He's suffered from sleep apnea which has been worsened by his obesity for many years and recently did a test to diagnose his sleeping issues. The doctors that surveilled his sleep stated that they were surprised he hadn't died in his sleep by now because he was only getting a 60% oxygen intake. They said if he doesn't lose weight he'll surely die much sooner so he signed up for gastric bypass surgery. I can only hope for the best for him. Very true. To be fair, that did look like an emotional moment, there. Her son was on the brink of potentially dying or having a very serious issue corrected. Might not come back. (Or just had, I - have the brain of cotton candy rn). Emotional unloading is kind of expected. A mother's genuine worry slipping out, regardless of her role in creating the situation. Not sure that she'd really ever expected him to get that heavy and have so many detriments to her health, either. It seems as though most parent's don't. Not until something hits their family and they realize that they'd inadvertently been creating that issue throughout the years.

Eating is a addiction but unlike drugs, which you can usually avoid with minimal effort once your sober, food is everywhere and essential for life. You can't just move away from it. Therefore if you want to spend eternity on heaven after your life here on earth 🌎, you should believe in your heart ❤️ that Jesus Christ is your Savior. If you don't, you will miss going to heaven and end up in the lake of fire. It is terrible so I beg you to make the only correct decision for God to allow you to go to heaven. I’ve noticed this in so many of these films from UK. As an overweight person I can tell when I am not mindful or intentional with my eating because I don’t eat at the dining table. That’s how I figure out if I’m really hungry and not just needy or bored if I want to eat: am I willing to put the food on a plate and I’m willing to sit at the table with no distractions.

It is extremely weak. If you dont see it then you are a moron. Once you are an adult your life is based on choices not childhood habits and feelings. Dont you think people with diseases have to alter their lives ALL THE TIME? Difference is they dont whine about it cause they are not weak! There are people out there who have to completely cut out sugar due to diabetis, completely stop eating foods that they have loved since they were kids due to intestine issues. And thats only about food. Think about everything else people have to torture themselves to do with severe illnesses.

Up to 100 different chemicals in it. Like vanilla ice cream, you get the flavor from the vanilla bean , plus cream and sugar, you don't need added ''natural flavoring''.

I can attest that having parents with food addictions (one who was morbidly obese) definitely set me up for a lifetime of struggle with food addiction and obesity, myself. I was obese by the time I was 6 years old. I'm now 45, I've been battling insulin resistance and many joint injuries, and I'm still working to conquer my demons, change my patterns, and get the extra weight off. I'm now estranged from my mother, partially because she wouldn't stop talking about food and encouraging me to eat (also because she's a narcissist). Sometimes, we have to get away from the source of the dis-ease, in order to heal. I'm hoping it's enough. I've lost 60 pounds and have another 85ish, to go. Anyway, I really appreciated this show and am grateful for more examples of people taking control of their health.

People were not obese back in the 60’s, 70’s or even 80’s. Growing up in the 80’s we played outside and we would eat Fast food as a treat on weekends. We did not have super-sized foods which I think is a huge part of the problem. Back in the day people also had to walk more and food was more organic not filled with chemicals GMO’s. We have to also blame these companies that are operating and feeding us garbage food. All these sugars and FDA does not bat an eye to the poisons they allow in our food.

I have fought with weight gain my whole life. I had a rough childhood and used food for comfort. I am sitting here hungry watching this. I have accepted the fact that I let myself eat too much. Sometimes I just want to give in and eat too much when I am sad. But I can't blame nobody but myself for my continued weight gain. I am the one that keeps eating. We all have control over what we eat and how much we eat. There are enablers but they don't stuff the food down your throat. You could tell them to fix you less or just stop eating all of it. I know this is difficult. Right now I am craving a Boston cream pie so bad but I know that I don't need it, it's just a comfort thing. I feel sorry for anyone that has this tendency to eat way too much. I just wish people could be honest and stop blaming everyone else for all of the food they stuff in their face. They are not force feeding you.

Alice. I have been having problems with my diet for a long time. I think the problem is that we have to change our thinking about food. There are so many other things that may be a comfort emothional comfort in life. You must find them in your life and stick to them, and not to food. Eating is pleasand feeling full is nice, but it is just one apsect of our lives.

Not these people, not even at a decent or normal table, many on ''my 600 pound life'' in America they eat on trays, many times with paper plates. Like animals, no respect for food.

Sitting down at a table together isn't a guarantee of a healthy lifestyle. Please don't use dinner time as a place to tell your children how awful they are. I know this from experience. My father did this.

We as parents have to be responsible as well when we look at our children and say oh you need to lose weight you got to do better, most children when they grow up overweight their parents are feeding them foods that they shouldn't eat and not getting exercise for their children. unfortunately a lot of the parents are overweight and didn't get the help they needed. whether it's therapy ,medication whatever it is that you need to do. when you are overweight like that and depend on food we have other problems that we're not dealing with. as a parent I understand that I must take responsibility for how my child is eating what they're eating and if they're getting exercise and talk to them about their concerns, even getting them therapy if needed. The best to Everyone here.❤💪

It is good to see them walking. Strenuous exercise is not good for the morbidly obese because it overtaxed the joints and the heart. Also it make people hungry afterwards and triggers overeating. A low carb diet is the most effective way to lose weight.

I struggled many years now I just eat mainly animal products no carbs or starchy veg, and it’s literally like I’m on speed. Less appetite and full of energy. People take speed to feel like I do. Lost a lot of weight without trying. I’m 51 years old. Battling being overweight is no longer a problem. Carbs stimulate my appetite and I have to be aware of that and avoid them. Much ❤️.

I have a friend who is slowly eating himself to death. He has so many weight related issues that he just ignores... our entire friend circle has tried to help him but he gets nasty with anyone who points out his obvious issues. He doesn't want help, he just wants to lay in bed all day and binge eat... and we have come to realise this so we have distanced ourselves from him now. It's sad, but we have tried.

What you need is a former fattie. Overeaters Anonymous is full of people who lost over 100 pounds. If ANYONE will talk so he can hear, that person will be able to. Ball is still in their court, but I've seen miracles happen when former addicts spend time with present ones. Great thing for BOTH parties. The problem is, you're trying to MAKE someone do something. Now, A, you have 0 experience with his issue. So, to him, you're full of it, already. Former fatties don't go there. They're adults, they can do as they please. You'd just tell your story and relate to them. And leave it there. NO PUSHING. They don't see a better way, which a former fatty can only do by example. They have to know it's better without food addiction. See if you can't talk to his codependents, the ones who are feeding them. There's books on overeating. There's zooms and 100 pounder meetings, both live and pre-recorded. IF they want to try something else. They also have a phone #. But if you called AA and tried to get a bunch of them to get someone off a jail charge or something, they'll tell you to deal with your own codependent issues and leave them alone. Just for example. So, no one is going to show up there or anything unless he asks for help. Often, if they SEE and hear former food addicts, it plants a seed. Not all seeds grow, and not all right away, right? OA uses the big book of AA, and you can hear or read it online free. Joe and Charlie tapes also explain the steps they use. Very funny talk. Also free at RU-vid. They just change drinking for food. Comes out the same.

@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 Lovely, without trying to sound rude at all... I am a former heavy person who had a food addiction. So I actually relate to what he is dealing with, to a degree. However, I do appreciate your advice... what you're saying is absolutely true. Unfortunately all he sees is that there are people who are trying to tell him what to do, whenever they voice their concerns and he doesn't see that his food addiction is the problem, even though his weight makes him depressed and gives him health issues. :(

At 12 he wasn’t grocery ,,,,,, realizing he’s an adult NOW, but this started when he was a child and not responsible for himself,,,, it breaks my heart that they are so young, you don’t see morbidity obese senior citizens, why? Because they don’t make it to 70 and 80 while 500+ lbs, I hope he realizes he’s young and can really turn this around if he wants to

I really relate to these people. I've struggled with binge eating, addiction, and obesity most of my life, and that's because I derive more pleasure from food than anything else. It fills me up verus other things. I did drugs and was an alcoholic but those things were only temporary and the legal reasons made me quit too but I have to eat and that's the only way to stop myself from feeling so empty inside.
