Ha you sold too soon. Much of the SL ABC issue is overly dramatic. Many SL's do not leak because they were maintained on schedule. Even now the cost of rebuilding at an independent Mercedes mechanic would be less than $10k here in Maryland. With glass roof V12 SL's extinct at Mercedes forever these SL65's are appreciating before the onslaught of electrification on the horizon.

Arghh! I can't believe you let that go so quickly. AMG V-12's are no longer made (save for Pagani's) & with nothing but EV's coming, these will head north in value. So, I do have to say "thank you". Now that you've shipped yours to the UK, my 06' Graphite SL65 just became even more rare. From my research, there were probably less than 50 (maybe a lot less) from 05'-07' sent to NA with that Designo Graphite package. You're going to miss this one!

I like the double circle round head light better than the 2008 single head light. Look more classic

Beautiful! I did ECU and TCU remaps on my '07 SL65 (just by Fedexing out the two control units), for under $1000. Amazing improvement. The 2007 and 2008 R230 are actually a bit different than earlier years. Different grille, door sills, keys, hardtop switch, etc. Of course 2009 and later R230 cars had a much different front end and so on, lasting thru introduction of the R231. The R230 SL65 is considered more reliable than the lesser R230 SL600 V12.

Flush the ABC fluid and replace the ABC filter with a 3 micron filter and it'll be good to go for 20 to 30 thousand miles.

It wasn’t the SL65 Hoovie purchased for his episode of CarTrek, was it? Looks very similar. LegitStreetCars now has it and is taking out the V12 engine and rebuilding it.

Can't believe abc struts didn't leak over 3 months sitting, especially if original. Temperature seems to have effect the abc sag greatly
