I bet youll see this a million times: security security security. Invest in a home security system. Nest, Google, whatever but theyre super cheap and if something DOES happen, its on video and its a peace of mind kind of thing. You have fans, but with fans, you have some shady people. They will want to go after you and your house is pretty stand out so to speak so, again, it wouldnt hurt to have it. Ive been watching you since cleetus had you drifting at the freedom factory, you do stuff right and you do it by the books. Learning off of you when you do work is amazing cause it shows me ways to do a certain repair and it teaches me something i didnt know. Keep up the good work, youre killing it.

Plus they are digital/ cloud based abs vulnerable to being hacked! In the last week I had to change a bunch of passwords due to data leaks from the above named companies and more. They all use a handful of big server/storage companies and even saw d companies get hacked well you get the point

@@kenwillis8487 everything gathers your info at this point bro, what the hell do you expect? as for the vulnerabilities to being hacked, secure password (meaning randomly generated 24 digit passwords) at minimum will be what you want and good end to end encryption. You cant prevent everything but that will atleast hold over most people.

I've always thought of a long open drive up to your home is a great feature in this regard, but that's not very possible for most people.

can be, I got lucky and have less than 4k in my mill, lathe, metrology, and LOTS of tooling(end mills, shell mills, fly cutters, rotary table, fixtures, etc.). There was a guy in town that died, and the kids didn't want anything to do with it all and had to get rid of it since the house was listed. There's still deals out there

@@ChipsNeeson It's not about "sharing a shitter" as you eloquently put it. It's about not wanting to walk to and through the house. If you are using the shop for poker, game night, whatever, you don't want to go outside to the house, through the house, etc. What if it's raining? What if he has kids/wife/GF sleeping? It's a very large convenience to have that bathroom there. I have a nice shop building like he does but it doesn't have a bathroom and I definitely wish it did. It's a huge perk. He just needs to make it a big nicer.

As much as he likes to strip & repaint mostly suspension stuff, he could turn that "bathroom" into a parts cleaner, sandblasting, paint booth /powder coating oven room. Also, that opposite corner over by the proposed lathe+mill area needs a hydraulic press & a metal brake.

I was thinking the exact same thing... having any grinders in there will get abrasives all over the mill/lathe ways, ruining them.

That's why I converted an old sunroom into my workshop, keeps all the dust off my cars and out of engine builds in the garage

dude keep the bathroom in the shop.. youll appreciate it , trust me, its already plumbed too. think REAL hard before you do away with it. thank me later. also you do need a wash room ( sink) to clean off your hands and such. also congrats on being a homeowner!

also imo, if possible id lay concrete toward the house to make the driveway into shop making it more wide instead of a deep shop. it works out better imo for a 2 car lift shop.
