Andrew, If possible ignore anyone who has anything negative to say about your hunting. While the getting outdoor aspect of your hunt is great, there isn't much that can beat putting meat in the freezer and enjoying it while you do. It was a good choice to put the video out. Cool harvest and wildlife footage. I'm a firm believer in harvest what you want within the laws of the state. While I trophy hunt, there still needs to be hunters culling the herd and getting the meat and i don't care what they shoot as long as it is within the law of the land. So to me this is a big win and a great successful hunt for you. Keep it up and fill that freezer up. I'm hunting Alabama now and will be hard at it all through December. Then in January I move back to GA for some wild hog harvesting to fill my freezer. Congrats on the awesome hunt and harvest.

You are kidding about how hard it is to tape yourself while hunting. Only have been able to do it once, mostly because bucks are on your before you can see them. Well done.

When you dress the deer, give Ruger some of the fat trimmings to train him to find wounded deer. I did that for my Beagle and weirdly our Calico cat wanted some too!

I have never found a good recipe for antler stew. I am happy shooting does and putting meat on the table.

I have found that doe eat better than bucks. I don't gun hunt much anymore as I find archery more stimulating and the challenge thrilling. But when the freezer is in need of restocking...well ...as long as it gets the job done...Get Er Done!!

Congratulations and as a 1000% dedicated deer hunter I agree . I personally get the freezer full for my family and a disabled friend and the we trophy hunt . We love to be in the woods and let lots and lots of deer walk . It’s not about shooting a bunch of deer , we eat everything we harvest . To me horns are just a plus .

Agree on all your hunting points. I miss bow hunting, 4 yrs now bad shoulder. This year recently retired but lost my hunting buddy few days after, I miss my venison and the good times around it. Be well.

I don’t deer hunt so I don’t know but I’ve always been taught that a younger adult size deer was the best taste wise. I remember talking to hunters and they didn’t want big huge near because they said the meat was tough and it wasn’t good eating. I’ve heard some say the same about fish and other animals and it makes sense but I don’t really know. I’m not really fond of hunting, though I like shooting but is a big part of me that would like to go get a deer come up for the healthy food but just for the experience, I just haven’t done any hunting since I was a teenager. But The last few years I have considered it and if I lived somewhere where I could do it I would probably go for it even though I really wouldn’t like it. I’ve studied processing enough to know how to do it in an emergency situation but I’ve never actually process a deer Or any large animal.

Congratulations Andrew! You're right, the deer down here are absolutely tiny compared to what I'm used to being from up north. The other thing, I rarely see them here, same with rabbits. I come across wild hogs, coyotes and fox frequently, but very rarely deer and rabbits. Those antlers make great chews for dogs too!

Yes sir it's not the size of the horns does taste as good as bucks, I've sat many a day and only seen squirrels it's just being out in nature that makes a person feel rejuvenated

Andrew, here in ga atleast in my area there isn't a processing place that makes good deer sausage other than breakfast sausage. No sausage links ,deer sausage hotdogs,etc

Well done! It should always be about putting meat in the freezer first.... after that if a person desires they can hunt antlers if the feel the need. Please don't misunderstand me, I would love to have a nice rack on the wall, but a tasty young legal deer is preferred

I unfortunately have no ways or means to hunt deer and I always crave some venison. I wish I knew people out here that could help me out with the steak or two. I miss it. Good job Andrew 🦌
