Sending and making it over a gap/drop that scares you is the best feeling!

Actually this video helped me overcome a fear of gap jumps and I finally hit one! Not so big but hey it’s a step forward 😉 Thanks!

Great video! I can do pretty large table tops and medium drops, but give me a gap and I always pass it up. I just don't trust my speed. Can you make a video with a gap jump progression and figuring out proper speed safely? Maybe even casing recovery.

Martyn Ashton, motivational genius just brings that confidence boost Rich needed and yes Rich, the second jump was actually quite stylish, well done. I do wonder if Martyn still looks around when things go a bit wobbly and thanks his lucky stars that Blake isn't bringing the nutrition? Great video guys and I am exactly like Rich with my thought process and can easily opt out of a jump. That's why I like my portable ramps. They let me adjust the gap at my leisure and they were cheap and easy to build. Especially useful when coming back from injury and wanting a gradual entry back into riding jumps.

Rich not doing the jump when you’re not comfortable, before a race is a wise decision. In fact the week before a race I am very conservative in my rides 😀 you have to know when it’s time to hit it and when it’s not. Then visualizing what needs to be done to overcome whatever you want to do, if you’ve done similar features before but smaller it’s going to be easier. If it’s the first time you do this kind of feature, then start small to build the technique. Good technique brings confidence and not the other way around. Finally once you hit it, immediately repeat it at least two times, so you know you got it down.

I don't like jumps but love drops and steep rocky rooty stuff, steeper the better. I tense up when it comes to jumps for some reason.

I have a local hill with an old DH trail on top. Been there many times, always chickened out since I've only got a hard tail and my skill are still not that good. Last week I finally went down. Results? Two minor crashes but I still arrived at the bottom on my bike and you know what? I'm happy I finally crossed that out of my check list. Now I see what things I must work on and I'm about to order my first full sus. That's that I love about mountain biking - challenging yourself, constantly moving the goalpost. A year ago I wouldn't dream to ride the thing I rode this year and I'm excited to see what future brings.

Coming from MX I have done 15m jumps but a 4m gap jump on a MTB scares the crap out of me... At some point you just have to say fuck it and go! 😆 And peer pressure definitely helps... Oh and keeping a bit more speed makes it in general a bit easier because your brain is too late to process it haha.

Awesome 👏🏽 Well done Rich 🤘🏽😎 You made it look smooth AF!! I wish we had had some pro built bike parks here, we’ve made a few kickers on our local trails but I suck at jumps.

To be honest I find that eventually my fear of a feature just goes away and I can do it. I can't conquer fear one day it just goes and I can do it. I can't explain this but it works.

After about 3 years the last Keurig stopped working ru-vid.comUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf initially was able to unblock, however eventually we couldn't fix. That one was a replacement unit sent by the manufacturer after we had problems with our very first Keurig. This works fine (lol, at least for now) however I didn't realize the water reservoir was so much smaller than our prior unit. With 2 people having one or two cups of coffee each morning, it seems like I'm refilling it daily. Otherwise just happy to have the convenience of pod coffee vs. making a morning pot.

Are big jumps actually easier than small jumps as you have more air time to compose yourself? I find on small jumps (a foot max - pathetic) it is over so quickly that I can either curl my feet forward to bring the bike up but then don't have time to drop my heels before landing and bounce off the pedals, or vice versa, I don't bring he bike up into me and my feet come off the pedal mid flight, but are at least in the right position to land back on them. Both ways ends up with a sketchy landing? Could it actually be easier on a larger jump with more time to get through all the motions? I wish I had the balls to find out!

If I’m scared of doing something I have my mates with their aggressive encouragement/bullying get me through it. You would rather stack it then pike it.

When im bricking it a bit what I like to do is just stand on the side of the bike on one pedal so you can lower your gravity and bail if needed. Ill do that a couple of times to judge the lines then ill send it. It really helps on steep downhill bits with loose ground.

Great video rich i’ve been riding street for 15 years first time I hit a decent size stair. gap I was a bit scared I had my friend to tow me and I was OK The only time I have been scared was watching Jono Jones hit G Atherton’s Ridge line drop it was a bit windy which wasn’t ideal but he still sent it to do that size of drop in those conditions not for the faint hearted
