I Finally Played The Witcher 3 on the Nintendo Switch 

For me the Witcher on Switch set a new bar for games on Switch. If a dev says they can't port something to switch or its too hard, then they're just lying.

I played this on my PC but I never completed it because lack of time and I found more interest in portability from way before the Switch was even announced so most my gaming was slowly going into the 3DS, when the Switch launched it changed everything for me and when this game dropped I was over the moon. Got 280 hours on the Switch version.

The game looks great in handheld mode and that's what i was looking for, if i wanted to play on tv i would've bought a ps4

I've always played Witcher 3 with my Xbox controller for PC. I like how they did the PC cloud saves and I agree it would be cool for doing side quests.

My forts experience with the Witcher was on the Switch. Because of the amount of time this game takes, I just didn’t have time to sit in front of the TV. The Switch Gods answered and gave us an amazing game on this little device. CDPR deserves a standing ovation for how they treat us. Great game, amazing Game Studio!!!

Kind of surprised they even released this on switch. I recently finally played this on ps4 and it’s truly an amazing game! CD projekt red have really outdone themselves here.

I grew up with a PSP and well it broke so I missed that handheld experience on the go, so now that I'm getting a switch it feels like those good old days again.

Great video. I never realized that The Witcher had cross-saves. That’s a feature I feel all games on the Switch would benefit from.

My monitor really cleans up the image so docked more doesn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. CD Project Red also added post processing as a bonus. Fantastic support for the game

The cross save feature reminds me of the PS3 port of Portal 2. I played it on PS3 and all of my saved data went into my Steam copy. Too bad this doesn't come with a free Steam key like that game did, but it's still very cool.

I play my Switch mostly on TV. I find it impressive that a decent port was possible, but there is no point in getting it if you don't plan to play portably, so I will probably stick to the PC version.

I’ve played the game on the ps4 several times. But I also own a switch lite, and I’ve purchased it again for the switch lite just because I love the company CD projekt red and love the universe the atmosphere of the game.

My girlfriend gifted me the Switch version and I been going back and forth on GOG and Switch almost the same way as you but with a controller. And yeah the cross save it's really cool. Btw nice video!

I popped my witcher 3 cherry on the switch. It was unforgettably one of the best 3 months of my life. Just me, my switch, and my swimming pool (and pool couch).

Recently bought it for the second time on Switch (first time one of the dogs chewed the cartridge and that of Victor Vran, but the latter is hardly damaged. Apparently the bad taste does NOT stop some dogs...). Switch is the only platform I really play games on since its release (a few 3DS games aside). This time I'm not taking it out before I'm done with it, and I feel like that might take a while... Been playing a ton, and there's still a LOT more to be done. Initially skipped gwent entirely, now I'm completely into that as well. Also, I'm enjoying it more now, it's had a (few) patch(es?) in the meantime, and it looks a lot sharper than I remember. It's incredible. I started gaming on a Game Boy and had every Nintendo handheld since (and both of Sony's, but those didn't really "click" with me as hardware, as if they were always overhyped on power and therefore underwhelmed me), and never had a tv before I bought a used Gamecube, so I can truly appreciate how handheld gaming has evolved.

I had to buy it when I saw it on sale. I have access to the xbox version but I also played a bit of the Steam version so the cloud saves were great for me when I started the switch

I got the game on Switch because it's currently my only current gen console. I don't regret it. True, it's not as good looking as I wanted it to be, but the port was done with such care and the game is so amazing, that I don't care. I'm so thankful game is on Switch. I have experienced something I would otherwise not have. Is the Switch port worth it? If you don't have a good enough PC, current gen console or need it portable, absolutely. Now excuse me that I need to go back and continue the Blood and Wine DLC 😎

Very cool port. I'm not really interested in the "The Witcher" series, but I can't deny that this port is very very well made. I feel like more games that are available on both PC and Switch should support cloud saving. It's so convenient and I truly think this might be one of the features that gaming is gonna see more often in the future, which I'm very looking forward to. There is something really appealing to me about playing a game on the go and then have the same save file on my PC at home. Anyway, really nice and short video. I really liked the way you presented the goodies that come with the game and all the aspects that make the port amazing. I really enjoyed watching this video. c:

How do you get it to work with the standard edition? Have you tried it? Because I tried to connect my Switch saves through GOG and it won't let me progress past the beginning screen in the game because I don't already have the dlc on PC.

Personally, I prefer turning AA off. It just feels odd and makes textures muddy.

In my opinion, it's an incredible port, but I think DQ11 might be even better. It's right up there with Xenoblade 1 and X as the best looking games I've ever played.

You know I would get this game for the switch but my problem is it doesn't have a ps4 cloud to it meaning I dont wanna play witcher 3 from the start again like I didn't start enjoying the game until I was level 15

It's impressive for the switch to run it but I wouldn't seriously fully play through it on a switch tbh. I tried to ignore the downgraded graphics but it's too painful after ~20 hours. Definitely play on another platform for the best experience imo

Outer worlds proves that not every game can be ported with just graphical losses. Ported by the same company by the way. With Doom Eternal entering the oblivion, that’s another point to that. As Wolfenstein before it, if it gets released, there will be changes in the gamez

I got the Switch version of the game after watching the Netflix TV series. I hate to admit, but I had honestly only heard of the game before, and had no idea it was based on books or anything like that. Or even that there were three games. I ignored it because of the comparisons to Skyrim - a game which I couldn't get into. Thankfully (for me), I found the Wither 3 is not even close to Skyrim - they're open world and medieval fantasy, they're as far apart (if not further) than Dragon Quest and Wizardry. In other words: Witcher 3 is to Skyrim as Dragon Quest is to Wizardry.

Is it censored? I've been hearing the European version or something has the sex cut out, and the gore way toned down. Is this the same for the American version?

Why I think it’s the best port on Switch has more to do with the fact that no game ported to Switch is as good. There are games like FFX and Dragon Quest 11 that are ported and improved from their original versions, but Witcher 3 on Switch is IMO a better experience. The graphical downgrade is trivial at most, and honestly I don’t even notice it. Because of Switch’s handheld mode, long drawn RPGs are a lot easier to play through, IMO. And having the ability to switch back and forth between home console and handheld makes this my favourite version of the game, by far.

unpopular opinion: I found witcher 3 to be incredibly boring, really tried getting into it, put like 15h into it, but I just found the main story to be awful (especially in terms of pacing) and the combat was just.. kind of there, nothing special, there are a million better action rpgs out there

Compare and contrast this to the Town of Light Switch port; honest to god looks like a PS1 game. Looks absolutely terrible and has horrible pop-in. You can look up the Switch trailer and it really is the most stripped down port of a game I have ever seen in my life, looks like a completely different game. The first puzzle in that game is light based, but because the lighting and shadows have all but been removed, it is nearly impossible to complete for people who have never played it before.
