Thank you for doing the shoes justice Yowana. It was fun seeing my race days shoes on YT. My kids have been so excited😂 Oh and I am more of a mid foot striker
It wasn’t a matter of not wanting to keep them. I have a bit of a shoe addiction so plants of options. These were/are my 5k racers. I hadn’t seen Yowana review these so I thought a great opportunity to help a guy out who has helped me out with his content. Win/win 🎉
One of the reasons this concept is so great is the availability of certain sizes is almost non-existent on major brand shoe sites. Example: Size 9 in your desired color? Forget it. So I'm all in on this idea, thanks!
Great video! I have these shoes and the Hoka Cielo X 1s. My PB in the half marathon is 1:40, so a decent amount slower than you, and I would use the Cielo X 1 for 10 mile and above and the Rocket X 2 for anything shorter. All to say, I agree with you that the Cielo X 1 is better for longer distances and Rocket X 2 for shorter, and where that division occurs will just vary some person to person depending on their pace and preference. Great video! Keep producing and manifesting! 🙏🏼
Good to see my favorite racing shoe on the channel..I got them the end of June last season just after a stretch of 5 Half marathons in 6 weekends..the alphafly V-1 and V-2 were beating up my feet and I was looking for something better..they were a game changer for me..I ran 3 other 1/2s in them and a bunch of shorter races and they are the best racing shoes I ever used..my OG pr is now my favorite long distance traing shoe..bought 2 more pr before they change them..I have a lot of miles in them and other than some heel scuffing they are going strong..the alphaflys usually are used up at 100mi for me..they are tite to get on but the fit is perfect once you're strapped in..and the most stable of all my top in shoes..😊
@donnybrooklads :they are the best racing shoes I own..I am a forefoot striker and the combination of the plate and foam works great for me..I can't use the vaporfly cos the forefoot cushioning goes flat almost immediately..the rocket x2 is especially good for street racing when the pavement is uneven and lots of twists and turns, sidewalks, driveways, wooden bridges etc..the stability is similar to an old school racing flat but with the cushioning of the best super shoes today..I just tried the asics edge Paris and sent it back..no comparison..I use the Cielo road as a trainer for shorter runs..I don't run on a track so it might be a little squishy on a rubber track..
I recently got the Endorphin Elite and I like it much more as a racing shoe than the Pro. That said: I haven’t tested it enough on long runs yet and during my marathon last weekend I opted for the Alphafly, just to be safe. The Endorphin Elite is more aggressive and not nearly as soft as the Pro. Much bouncier though and it feels easier to run fast in. If you like an aggressive rocker, lots of bounce and a relatively firm midsole: go give it a try!
I finally broke down and purchased the Cielo X1 as my local retailer offered a 20% discount. Was not sure my slower paces suited the X1. I was wrong. The midsole and rocker are magical. Even at my slow pace of 12:30min/mile up to my 9:30min/mile pace the midsole is awesome. Your review and reply to my question on the X1 review video helped with a gentle nudge to purchase the X1. Worried you are getting back to high mileage to soon. Take it easy we can’t afford you to get injured 😮. Keep up the great work.
I really love the launch of the Yowana Yused shoes! I would have had mine submitted by 6 am but I was missing one picture to submit and was already at the gym and out for a run.
Mannnn I hope to see some rocket x2 in a size 12 pop up on your site. I’ve been wanting to try these. My VF2 might have a couple good races left in them until they just become trainers until I tear them up completely.
Hey Yowana! I agree with the Rocket X2 being a better half shoe. i've run a half in them 6 months ago. love the shoe. couple weeks ago did 16 miles in them and the last couple miles i definitely felt a firmer landing. whereas the Cielo X1 still feels really cushy at that mileage. i do have a question. i have run in Hokas and nothing else for 10+ years. recently i purchased the Boston 12, after yours and others glowing reviews. i love the shoe. i have been considering the Adios Pro 3. with it being a little firmer than some other super shoes do the help with pronation, say compared to the Cielo X1. thanks and keep up the great work!
The adios pro 3 is very stable! It's definitely better than the cielo x1 for me because of the firmer foam and better platform for heel landing. Cielo x1 is decent for stability but the the heel cutout doesn't feel great at certain paces
@@supwell THANKS! I like the Cielo, but I'm intrigued by the Adios Pro 3 for sure. even more after running in the Boston 12, which also seemed to keep my right foot from overpronating
Fantastic shoe. All bout that midsole. Yowana, do you do any strength work or is it all just running for you? Crazy how you can maintain that mileage if it's just running
In the past 6 months I haven't done much traditional gym work - but before that I was consistent with 2 to 3 gym or bodyweight workouts a week for 10+ years. Mostly do hill running/stroller running for my strength now but have been thinking about getting back in the gym this cycle
Adidas Evo Run would be interesting. I think only Thomas from BITR and Kofuzi got them. Adidas can send one to the fastest growing ShoeTuber channel; the James Brown of ShoeTubing. :)
I ran London in the Cielo X1 - Amazing shoe - fast, comfortable and responsive, I can't recommend it enough. Keen to try the Wave Rebellion Pro which I have heard has a similar rocker, but is even faster.
I am still trying to figure out the X1!. its bouncy for sure and good on the legs, but I am not figuring out how to make it propel me like the Vaporfly.
I like the idea of the official Brian Smith Gently-Used Shoe Market. I'm really easy on my shoes so I can put 200 miles on a pair and they still have a lot of life. Maybe something where you can get a couple of bucks as the website administrator and the runners get to try more shoes that they couldn't otherwise afford. Win-win?
What was the title of the book you read about more powerful running? I have pretty much te exact same build as you and also feel much more comfortable putting some real force into te ground while running.
It's how to become a champion by Percy cerutty. There's lots of other stuff in there on his training style (and some outdated views since it was written a while ago) but it talks a lot about importance of upper body strength. Here's the link - Athletics: How to become a champion (Classic Revival) a.co/d/jimD4eF
Have you read Explosive Running by Michael Yessis? I haven't gotten through it yet but it also talks about stronger and more explosive movements like sprinters use. Definitely going to take a look at this one too
Lemma won the men Boston marathon with the evo 1….😊…..that’s a $1200 shoe. Adidas is losing lots of money when they sell it for $500. Crazy that it would just last one marathon distance… super duper light at around 4 oz…. 😮….. let.s give a shout out to BRIAN SMITH…. This Yowana can’t buy any more shoes and feed her family…. This is supporting this Channel in a big big way…. 😊
Rocket X2 my favorite HM(3) race shoe in 2023 I have dozen or more high end super shoes new or less than 50 miles. Not good at pricing can you assist. Thanks for your efforts establishing the market place revenue generation stream and giving others access to higher end shoes they may not otherwise be able to afford Where can I find the link? Clarification ?s, seller would be responsible for shipping, would shoes be listed as price+ shipping
link in description for submitting shoes to sell - the marketplace isn't open to buy yet. and yes, seller pays for shipping! you can email me yowana@supwell.io with the shoes and miles for each if you want some help with pricing
I got a pair last year and passed them on to a friend of the channel in a giveaway. He said they were similar vibe to the triumph - not super soft but a nice bounce and decently stable
I like where you're going with terms that are not allowed. Heel slippage won't missed. But I'm waiting for the review that doesn't use these: Disclosure. You're already the best on this you don't say it at all. Gussetted. This is not a particularly big problem in your case. Some channels say it multiple times per video. Lockdown. All your competitors constantly this. You do too. Can we ban this word?
