I’ve never actually read or run Lost Mines, but this is a pretty easy 1 shot for Dungeon World!

Good job on converting that. I have never actually used the Front/Danger/Grim portent system as I have been doing this for a long time but I can 100% see how useful it is for newer players or DMs who want a nice easy over view. Thanks for doing the thing!

Whatta flex! I like it for the sake of just keeping track of things in the adventure and having like an overview of everything. I am also super cool and don't need it... for sure... not lying!

I'd consoder myself an experienced GM, but I still find it useful. Not so much if it's a small region with not many players I guess, but my campaigns tend to spiral into complex politics with many players, and different towns, and then it comes in really handy.

Yeah, I think there are a lot of ideas out of Dungeon World that can easily improve your RPG no matter what system you end up using. Definitely worth looking into. The Lazy Dungeon Master method actually borrowed the idea of Fronts directly from Dungeon World to be applied to D&D or other games as well. Great quality content for a channel this size! Easy subscribe!

This video was a godsend in helping me understand how steadying tags and fronts work in Dungeon World since I am very familiar with LMoP. I’d love to see you do this with more D&D adventures.

Nice video and very interesting approuch to this module! I've run LMoP mixed with DOIP for three years. I've used the factions of Forgotten Realms and it have worked very well. Sildar was supporting The mayor and the search of Gundren, while Halia was trying to manipulate the adventurer's group and getting power to become the new mayor and then have control over the redbrands and the lost mine exploration. Glasstaff have fled from the reds hideout, returned to Neverwinter and started his plans of take control over the lords alliance. Black spider was working together with cryovain, but the group killed him quickly, revenging the death of Gundren at the castle. It was a very nice campaign!

Where did you find that map? Wall of Text: My take on fixing Phandelver. (note it really helps to also have the sequel starter adventure as well the The Storm King's Thunder adventure book if only for the Triboar and Neverwinter locations) Goblin cave, not much changed. But the castle is significant as it was built by a human wizard in a fallen civilization, and could use some fleshing out. Killing the King of Cragmaw Castle will result in an eventual contest for a new Goblin King ( I made this into a big battle in Phandalin) Glastaff is motivated by being massively in debt (tuition fees) and being part of a society related to that which had been running the Soul Forge in centuries past. He has no real loyalty to them, but the connection is there; indeed his status is a fair hook for a wizard PC to investigate. He is also stymied by the Red Brands unwillingness to do much. The Red Brands are related to the Red Wizards of Thay slave taking & trading network (the outfits found in the prison will match some of the clothing worn by the zombies Hamun Kost uses). They don't have much ambition beyond drinking and fighting. They will likely be hired out by the Zhentarim if they are ignored. Tresander Manor has a developable hole underneath leading to the underdark. Thundertree's keep was created by a wizard as well, and this is the reason Venomfang is there, in an otherwise easy for adventurers/cultists to visit local, he want's to be a Wizard! This town is a seriously bad place for a secure secret lair. Agatha, no changes. Old Owl Well Tower. Big change: Hamun Kost is an 'Archeologist', he even has a permit from Triboar. His team and slave workers were overrun by rebel orc raiders; he is using their bodies as zombie guards until an impasse with the orcs can be broken. It turns out Red Wizards of Thay have serious regulations regarding undead labor vs slave labor, and who can/when be turned into undead. The site itself is radically changed; an ancient long dead empire was in the habit of chopping off mountain tops and using the rock as flying castles/cities; this is one of those locations, which additionally has a water well in the center whose water ties in to the Wave Echo Cave. the place is basically an astronomy oriented temple in the form of a planetarium (look it up) for star viewing or visualization for a religious audience. Circling the site were statues of the same animals as used by the Find Familiar spell; the only intact remaining one is the Owl, on which a watch-tower was built. Wyvern's Nest. The Rebel Orcs. These guys want to end the treaty made with local human cities to end hostilities and resume the endless war. They are starting with Hamun Kost and elsewhere. Anyone who want's to try a reverse-play with Monsterous PCs might find this an interesting take. The Mine. Did a lot of research on mines and rethinking why in a world of gods, magic, & wishes, WHY is this place still lost? Mine tailings give away the locations of mine holes, even old mines...so the waste rock was used to build up the original Triboar Trail, as well as to create artificial lakes which kept the waste stream locals hidden and made inconvenient by water; this back entrance is where the PCs can enter. The main entrance had been blown by dwarven defenses during the war with the orcs, along with the trail leading up to it. Searchers are discouraged from trying to look on the mountain as it is rumored to be haunted; the undulations of Wave Echo Cave create a periodic unearthly howling a tribe of werewolves helps keep this threat real. I replaced the feel of enterreing the back way as being a vast maze of addits, holes, an tunnels all threatening to collapse. Abandoned mine exploration on RU-vid is quite a rabbit hole btw. Other things. WotC needs to develop the Costers and other economics more thoroughly. There is per Lore between Leilon and Phandalin a tribe of gnomes living with a gold dragon, whom has memory of Phandalin and may want the site as well. The various families of dwarves and gnomes were once part of the Phandelver Mine interest before the orcs went and smashed it; they have a mutual distrust of wizards and cooperation in general. An Ancient Green Dragon lives in the Cryptgarden to the south east who also remembers the Mine and while comfy as is, is uncomfortable with anyone trying to find and develop it. That's all for now.

This absolutely slaps. Funnily enough I actually do have both of those adventures, and it probably would enrich the experience. For the purposes of this video I wanted to do as little rewriting/keep it as true to the OG written material as possible. And I found the map by just googling, "Forgotten Realms map" -- should be the first result from aidedd dot org.

@@Ornithopter470 not the 2014 release at least? There’s some partial success stuff in the DMG but Tags and Fronts concepts and anything like the knack/instinct table are not present at least through Tasha’s (which is the last big rules book I kept up with). Unless I’m just really dumb and missed them.

One correction: "The *new righters* of forgotten realms suck". Because the older righters? OH BOY!!!! Elminster ecologies, the grey boxed set (with the census of shadowdale), the regional books and even the race/class books (warrior and priest from the realms/ Demihumans of the Realms etc). I miss this time, when things and information about a setting was important.

"About as deep as a puddle" Lol, more like depth of a kiddie pool but you need to learn chemistry of water before getting in... Learning the basics is a lot of depth... But not much beyond the basic ideas of spellcasting and pick the -5 +10 feats if applicable... Building a fair, unique, and interesting, character on par with the party is harder than shattering the game
