What Arnold went through is painful, sometimes I feel very grateful to be gay and born in SA because it's such a free and welcoming country and I also wish that Zambia will Stop treating human being like trash for being truthful about their being.

This hits hard for me especially as a South African born Zambian who is in full support of the LGBTQIA+ community. The change must start with the people of Zambia. They need to change their views and make a big enough impact so that the current Zambian government can pass legislation that is in full support of the community and bans all forms of discrimination against them.

This is so sad 💔 very important conversation thank you relebogile for tackling this topic criminalizing something you have no control over is terrible😞 what makes it worse is that laws and legislation in this case can further promote hateful and discriminatory behavior towards LGBTQI+ individuals. Anold's voice and speech pattern reminds me so much of Mama Afrika's speaking voice especially in her younger days (from watching her old interviews).His story is so sad but filled with hope 💖

Anold and I grew up in the same neighborhood. He was always quite different and kinda girly. We didn't know why he was like that coz we were so young and understood so little when it came to sexuality. He played with my sister at school too! Homosexuality is something that is not condoned in our country.

I really don't understand why non members of the LGBTQI community take someone else' sexuality personally.

I wish people can get it through their heads that a person’s sexuality is no more of a choice than the color of their skin.

I am from Zambia and I can agree with what Arnold has said,gay people are not safe in Zambia and most them hide even though we can tell someone is gay they still have to claim they are straight cause the backlash 🙌🏽Yoh 🙉it’s not easy for them here to be honest

I hope he recovers from all the traumatic experiences he had encountered for being self. I wish he finds a best person to love him enough that he doesn't feel as bad as his past experiences had shaped him. I feel very annoyed that we still have countries in the world that are homophobic. Really sorry Arnold.

So encouraged by my fellow Africans warm words to this young man sharing his story. Though the life for the LGBTQ community is not easy for many South Africans, I am grateful that this community is protected by a very progressive constitution. Sadly the stigma around homosexual people are still very much alive, not only on the African continent but many parts of the world. I am inspired by him that he has never lost his faith. Because so many gay people want a relationship with God, yet they are told they are not worthy of having one with God. Hopefully one day we will get to live in a world where we accept people for who they are and allow everyone to live and let live. There is too much hatred in the world

To be honest if there is one thing I struggle with most is the ability to relate to people who are gay or lesbian. I honestly find it hard, I don't hate them but I just find it hard to relate. Perhaps it's my upbringing as a pedi man, but I know forsure this is the one area I struggle with. All the best my brother.

😭 so sad to hear his story, it’s difficult in other countries to accept a gay/lesbian, l grow up playing with more guys who were acting like a girl and as kids you won’t understand why is he not playing soccer or hanging out the boys? to me l didn’t judge but l felt sorry because truly they don’t understand who they are inside it takes time, thanx for sharing and more of this story needs to be shared it help in the community to understand.

A very painful and emotional story, I feel sorry for my BROTHER. I wonder how PAINFUL God's heart is when humans are against His laws, as christians we know God is against same sex relations. Only people who are selfish(putting SELF first & God last) will see his country as demonic.
