One of the best things I have seen you do is show you working out the cost for the passenger. Brings home how important community support is for everyone in PNG in these remote areas. It's not cheap but nothing important is.

My dad was a saskatchewan air ambulance pilot. If I'm not mistaken, he even flew patients with iron lungs. Back in the 50/60s

Yet another great video with excellent explanations! And, again, such deep understanding of the weather pattern in PNG. In my area, there have been some weather related glider accidents recently. In two cases the pilots perished, unfortunately. All caused by the pilots being inexperienced and not understanding how the weather works. So sad. Aviate, navigate, communicate! But also know how the weather works!

I've seen some of your videos before, but it's been a minute. I'm 72 and retired now. Yay! 8) I sort of remember the analog "check box", you maybe showed that on Dan Millican's channel? That's brilliant!! I don't advocate for more controls, but given the number of accidents this year, maybe that could be linked to the throttle, only 25% available till the TO checks are complete! I was a little surprised at the yaw from the prop at altitude? That plane is pretty long? I don't remember the TBM doing that, or that much anyway. I was also hoping you didn't really charge the sick guy for the ride? You were going there anyway? I'm a notorious softie. 8) Thanks!! --gary.

Another uneventful flight. I don't think I'd be comfortable doing medical flights solo. If something should happen to a patient you can't pull over to assist! Stay safe. Looking forward to seeing next video.

Does the individual pay for the flight or does the village or government? If the individual does, how do they earn money?

Since everything is relative, but can be measured by common labor time, how many hours of work is 1080 kina? I understand people could claim to be sick to get cheaper rates, but it does seem expensive and perhaps some humanitarian rate should be listed or at the pilot's discretion.

What mission are you with? Grew up an MK in Venezuela where MAF flew indians out if the jungle in medical flights and pretty sure they didn’t charge. It was part of their ministry.

Curious: When you get tasked w a medivac, and you are flying as a missionary, who is it you are charging for the flight? Does it come from a governmental insurance scheme of some sort, from the missionary service, or from the village/family where the patient is picked up?

I'm surprised that you didn't use any ppe. I would be surprised if you didn't get exposure to what ever that guy has.

I’m not a pilot, I noticed you changed your cruising altitude from FL170 down to 11,000 for the passenger. Did you choose that number becuase that’s the lowest safe altitude for the return flight? Or the highest safe altitude for an unpressurised cabin?
