Laura, Penny is NEVER happy. She is the epitome of a grouchy mare.. not that there is anything wrong with that, if you love her that’s all that matters, but it’s not all the others horses causing an issue it’s just that Penny doesn’t care for any of the other animals.. she TOLERATES Willow, she definitely doesn’t appear to love Willow

It is not that Lady is not protecting Honey. It is Honey that is soothing Lady from the move. Honey is helping Lady in so many ways. As for Penny she is herd master now. I forget the ages of the horses. But if you watch you will figure out which horses rule over who. As for Storm. He will fit in. Penny and Storm both want to rule. Mares are the dominant ones even in the wild. Stallions and or geldings are the watchers, the herders. They pick and choose who is to stay in the herd. Some geldings cannot decide where they stand in the herd. Mares also rule the stallion. Once again congratulations Sohie.

Congratulations Sophie! You have found the perfect match for your next step. Is she a "harness horse" like standardbred or a "harness horse" like a hackney or a dutch harness horse? As an aside, I would suggest grazing muzzles for the two mini horses they look dangerously close to being too covered for this season. (It is great they came through the winter with so much cover) I suggest this because when you hit that tipping point they will founder *overnight* and the foot issues will be terribly hard to correct. (Especially I your old mini.) It's very entertaining to see the herd dynamics develop. Lady seems very forgiving.

Guessing not Hackney. And yes, I'd start considering laminitis potential. Carney (lesson pony at my old barn) wasn't chunky yet when he got it. Angel was smaller, but tubbier, before it happened. She mentioned something that makes me think they are aware and they did take them off grass last year. So, hopefully they are on top of it.

Lady is a great addition to the herd. I think moving Honey will help, so Lady is not trying to protect her and maybe Penny will calm down. 13 years old is a great age and ideal size too. Well done Laura x

I'm 67 and hope to do that soon. Going to sell my 2 houses and move my 7 year old twin grandkids to the country. To grow up like I did. They need freedom and responsibility .

When it comes to Storm, boys will be boys!😏😏I am excited for yur trail ride and you know what even if you decide not to film and just enjoy yur ride i am good with that cause i know you are gonna have a good time.
