Thank you for sharing this story Owen. While not hockey related.. I had it all so to speak.. amazing career, money was flowing, and I lost it all quite suddenly. Was devastating and took a while to get back on track, but like you said.. you put your head down, you get back to it, and you never stop putting the pedal to the metal. Had a ton of rejections & heard the word "no" more times than yes trying to get back into the mix but last week I received a call from a company I truly wanted to work for and it changed my trajectory completely. Will never let an opportunity like this squander ever again. Regret is arguably the most devastating part of life but as they always say... minor setback for a major comeback. If you really want "it" (whatever that is to you) you have to be relentless, you have to believe, and you have to keep on going no matter what. Really thankful you posted this today, lots of parallels.

Love the Blackberry. I think what I get from this video is if your of the right frame of mind there is no failure, just learnt lessons. If you get knocked down you get up no matter how difficult it may be. I know that you did that. You are a Success in many ways which includes the Hockey World.

Hi. Enjoyed it. So, and I ask respectfully, I'm trying to understand if you have regret or is it a celebration of going further in hockey than most? Do you have a lingering question of whether you could have had a longer pro career, step up to the NHL? You seem kind of vague about exactly why you didn't last longer or maybe achieve more? Again, not looking to rub salt in the wound, I just feel like I got an interesting story with great detail...and then I sort of got walked off the cliff with little explanation. Do you know what I mean? Also, did you consider a career in pro hockey off the ice but still in high level hockey...coaching or any number of support staff positions? Is this a who you know business? Just curious. Thanks. Dig your story man. 🙂
