@@Salcho3090 I'm not sure. I doubt it though. It's not really even something worth mentioning tbh. Now and then you might smell something if you are driving by the refinery or other industrial area.
@@atribecalledowens okay awesome appreciate it . We are just out in Oshawa Ontario and really considering the big move so just trying to get all the info I can
I love how Being "smart with money" in Canada equates to jack/expose Relative costs/taxes on province to province. People that are moving to NB after making 2-5x more off whatever shell of a house they started off with out west. You think NB'ers think to themselves "Good for you"? The answer is simply no, and in Dieppe, they think in french not english.
@@atribecalledowens Not if resentment is justified and based on a continuing action/trend that contributes to atlantic canada's first ever homeless crisis.
@@jordanmatchett8341 is resentment ever justified? Atlantic Canada thinks it's unique in this. They are only a decade behind most of Canada in this issue.
I lived in Fredericton for 8 years and I can’t stand it now. I’ve been back in the Kennebecasis Valley area for ten years and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the province. There’s lots going on in SJ when we feel like popping in town for some entertainment. Fredericton is so dull and very superficial. It was ok as a university student in the early 2000’s but it has zero appeal today.

Thanks for this video. As a person who lives here...this is a major issue. It's so bad now. People are trying to help but it's not enough. The last 3 years has been shit. We need to bring more awareness
I live in SAint John but went to Art college in Freddy back in 04 and it has a fun summer life or used to I have to agree SJ is so much more fun with rich history and life if you know were to find it.
I value what you said. You value freedom and don’t believe being a slave to any job. Perfect way to think and live by. Working paycheck to paycheck is horrible. Imagine buying a small ugly house in Toronto and having a mortgage on a $900,000. Dollar house? YOU WILL WORK LIKE AN ANIMAL FOREVER AND HAVE NO LIFE.
Interesting how you mention Irving. I watched a video about Blaine Higgs giving Irving a big break, which is why we are paying 6-8 cents more. I will post the link here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N9I-HY3wfVM.html I have lived in Saint John, it is one of the poorest cities in the country (according to statistics).
This is the province where residents in a neighbourhood once got a measly 30 dollar gift card from the Irvings as an “apology” for the release of some toxins from a technical issue causing some nasty particulates getting into the air causing children and seniors harm. And all the Irvings got, like they always do, is a relatively small fine, and the continuation of more insane concessions to boot; nothing new here when looking at their track record of not complying with environmental regulations. Brings to mind that hefty taxes in NB have little to do with the cost of healthcare and other services; has more to to with a family getting insane concessions at the tax payers expense hence not paying their fare share of taxes; this is what happens when you have the only company province in the country that is basically governed and owned by a family.
I have always loved my city and the diversity here. But most pf all from birth to 8 or 9 years of age my dad schooled us in the importance of community and playing my part in my community such as no knowing who a person is does not excuse me from lending a hand when they have a problem it was expected that we find out what is wrong and make sure I do everything I can to help. I guess you could say I was raised to use the Golden Rule as my standard.
I hope things have changed since I lived in New Brunswick when it comes to handicapped accessibility. I worked at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. The building I worked in had one designated handicapped access entry. It was a nice level entry, but outside the building that door could only be accessed by going up about 20 stairs. In addition the building was three stories and the access door was on the second floor. The only elevator in the building was a freight elevator not available to the public. The university designated the level access door as handicapped access and then did nothing else.
Well unfortunately I agree. I was born and raised in Fredericton and it's a total snooze fest here. It is a very beautiful city. We do have a few a great things to see and do here, but there is definitely room for a lot of improvement. There are lots of walking trails including the Bill Thorpe walking bridge, there are several microbreweries, and occasional events that help break up the boredom. The Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival is the one week our city comes alive, and the week of the Fr'ex, Fredericton Exhibition, there are often events for different interests. We have a rib fest once a year and The Capital Art Sale which happens twice a year, usually before Christmas and once in the spring. Kings Landing, a charming historical settlement, is about 20 minutes away. There is The Bucket Club for mini golf and a few waterslides and a campground. Kingswood is a fun place to go bowling or do laser tag and there is also a golf course there and a few others around the city. However, I get annoyed with this city because of the lack of public transportation service. We have a bus service, but it only goes once an hour and to go from one side of the city to the other it takes about 1 hour or more with no express routes. Transferring is only done at one location except on Sundays. Speaking of that, we just are starting bus service on Sundays on June 23rd ,2024. All buses are finished their routes at 10:30 approximately. Taxis often require a long wait, unreliable service and very high prices. Most short distances are at minimum $20-$25. What is most sad about this city is that everything downtown closes early and often the little shops all have different hours and extremely high prices. There is very little night life. I think there is potential to improve the city, but it seems like so much of the population are scared of change and want the city shut down and in bed by 10 pm. When we have events like the Jazz fest and the Fr'ex people complain about the noise. Is there hope? Maybe, but I find Saint John much more interesting and cultural.
You must have a pretty chill baby to do such a trip! Our son was not a chill baby and taking him on a 10 day camping trip was very challenging!! It was also a challenge to keep the mosquitoes off him and to keep him from getting heatstroke heading home in the car( in the days of no air conditioning in the middle of a heatwave). Twenty-four years later we still have the dark green Rubbermaid square dish bin we gave him baths in during that trip. Great memories.
My dad was a lawyer he lived downtown then they bought a home on River Rd, Rothesay. He was born 1930 hardly anyone had cars then they took the train into St John.
I have a phobia of bridges, my wife has to drive across that when we visit her family there. Chesapeake Bay bridge is scarier though. I can't imagine trying to cross that in any kind of storm.
UPDATE! Do not fly drones near the Confederation Bridge. It is illegal to do so and can result in a heafty fine. A viewer recommended the DRONE PILOT CANADA app and we will be using that going forward.
That bridge is incredible. It's a Canadian experience in itself. And P.E.I is like nowhere else in Canada. Absolutely wonderful place. Enjoy the trip. Will be watching closely!
We use to spend many hours waiting in the line to get the ferry across. The bridge is incredible but the ferry was more fun for the kids. We always camped in the tenting area of Sunset Campground in Cavendish. The sites were large and fairly private. Enjoying your videos.
Lived in NB for almost 3 years now. Spot on review. St John has a mullet but will help shovel your driveway and Freddy is sleepy. 8pm is past his bedtime. Lol Love it here though. Would love to here a review of Moncton. Also, your kid is super cute.
From SJ. Lived in Ontario in my early 20s. Alberta for ten years til around 2020. Back to SJ since. The moral is… Gawd I have to escape this awful city again!
