My grandmother's iconic sandwich maker? Yeah, you can easily get for for like $15ish on Amazon. I never even thought about searching for it - and kept Marge's grilled cheeses as a thought that would simply be a memory. Today I recreated her iconic combo of toasted grilled cheese and a box of #MrsGrassSoup (my favorite when I was growing up). #SandwichMaker #HowToMakeAGrilledCheese

Okay, here's my good vibes memory... Saturdays at our household growing up were definitely character days. We spent the morning cleaning the whole house (vacuuming floors, polishing shoes, cleaning cabinets, etc...). Once that was done, we headed to bowling where my two siblings and I were league enrolled. After that it was on to the YMCA with swim lessons followed by unstructured pool time. By the time we left, all of us were WORN OUT and ready for food/bed. Dinner that night was always Tombstone sausage pizzas combined with family TV time (Love Boat & Fantasy Island). I have incredible fond memories of falling asleep completely blitzed, but incredibly happy and safe. Cheers fellow HSE'ers!!

Oh my gosh. You have me crying too. I had the privilege of living with my Grandma the last 10 years of her life. It was a wild ride and so dang special. My grandparents sound a lot like yours. I remember them making everything so special no matter how little. They were the best. So many good memories. One that sticks out is so often when they would come to town they would pick us up from school and then take us to get a treat. A lot of times it was Mcdonalds or KFC. We'd either play in the ball pit or head over to the park afterwards.

I vividly remember spending weekends in Poland with my grandma, eagerly awaiting our pierogi-making sessions. We'd gather around the kitchen table, flour dusting the air as we rolled out the dough. With each delicate fold and pinch, we crafted the perfect pockets of goodness, filled with savory fillings like potato and cheese or cabbage and mushrooms. The kitchen would be filled with laughter and stories as we worked together, creating not just delicious food but also cherished memories that would last a lifetime 🥰🥰🥰

When I was a wee lad in Huntington, WV I was lucky to have both of my grandmother's in town. Oma made country cookin' like pork chops, roasts, desserts. Hi Sean, I love watching you. Thoroughly enjoy Ali and Lional. You make me happy. My favorie memory is when Mom would send a jar of homemade potato soup and a hot dog wrapped in tinfoil. I went to a one room school and it had a huge propane stove up front on the right. It was like five feet tall and six by six wide and deep. I would put the jar and tinfoiled hotdog on the stove when I arrived and it would be hot by noon. I had a bun wrapped in wax paper for the hotdog. Yummy. For sure, sending a jar with a kid in a paper bag who walked a quarter mile to school could have been disastrous. Yet she sent it with my five sisters and I. Safety had not yet been invented. Did I mention that you make me laugh and so happy.

What a truly fun and satisfying happy video S2S. Loved this so much. I, too, spent a LOT of time at my grandparent's house. For my sitting pleasure, my grandpa bought me a gigantic stuffed turtle at a garage sale and named it "Lackadaisy." It was about 3 feet wide and a foot high. I would sit on Lackadaisy as my grandpa and I would play Cribbage while watching Lawrence Welk. Grandma would bring me some cinnamon sugar toast and then sit on the sofa and hum along to the show. This was pretty much every weekend when I was young.

When we went to my Grandma Trueblood 's house on Sunday, she always knew who was coming, and she made sure your favorite food was on the table. I also remember my parents would buy cheap orange juice, and when I would get to Grandma's house, I would hit the fridge and start drinking her Minute Maid. My mom would yell at me to stop, and Grandma would yell at her to leave me alone. I also remember she always had strawberries waiting for me year round because she knew I loved them. I wish I could have 1 more Thanksgiving dinner cooked by her, especially her Mac & and cheese, which was the best. I lost my sister 17 years ago, my dad 12 years ago and my mom this past May. So many foods bring me back to my family. Damn, now I want my mom's noodles. Love your videos friend. They have been a bright spot as I've been trying to heal. My favorite time I ever had with my grandfather was always when we went fishing. He would teach me how to tie different knots and even how to make my own rod from sampling wood ,we caught more fish with a sapling wood rod than with a fancy fishing rod. In October on the 23rd of 2003 my grandfather passed away from leukemia , he was 86 years old. He taught me how to be a man, how to respect my family ,God and ever one in general. That despite of everyone being different we should all be loved, cared for and helped when needed. I miss him every day, the last 21 years have been tough without him but I will always have the memories from spending time with him and the lessons he instilled in my heart.

When my family moved to the Washington DC area when I was 9 years old I had no friends but one day I met a neighborhood kid who also loved The Monkees. We heard they were coming but our parents quickly told us no. I was devastated for months. On the day of the show I woke up and was so sad. Later in the day I was called home and it sounded urgent. My childhood food memory: Sunday nights, getting to eat in the living room on TV trays (BIG deal, we always ate at the dining room table otherwise.) If it was winter, fire in the wood-burning fireplace, and sometimes even s'mores and these same type of sandwiches, but with the iron you actually stick in the fire when you're camping. Otherwise, frozen SuperPretzel soft pretzels. Watched Nature on PBS or whatever Disney Presents thing was on ABC. Reading the manual and eating soup out of huge mugs ftw!

Really enjoyed this video. 38 now and spent a lot of time with my paternal grandparents as a kid because we lived in the same small town. We went to Hardee's a lot as there wasn't much else around. I still remember my grandfather got a chicken filet with no mayo and my grandmother got the Frisco burger which is loaded with mayo. My siblings and/or cousins would laugh at the drive-up when my grandmother would tell them "I have a VIP card" so they could get the senior citizen discount. It was a whole routine. My grandfather passed away in 2011 and grandmother in 2017. Whenever I'm in my hometown I always go to that same Hardee's. Otherwise, my grandmother was a great cook who made excellent monster cookies, mac and cheese, chicken kiev, deviled eggs and way more. Every Friday she'd make popcorn and top it with butter and Molly McButter. Molly McButter on popcorn is a game-changer. She was also a little eccentric having been born in the Great Depression (1/4/1930) and would cut pizza with scissors.

My mom and dad had a rental house. One winter the electricity went out in our little town (yes the whole town, I am talking small, small town) for two days. We had a fireplace in our family room so the people (mom, dad, boy) in the rental house came and stayed with us. We hung a blanket in the opening going from the family room to the kitchen to keep the room warm and we had blankets, pillows and sleeping bags everywhere. The dad brought his guitar and we all sang songs, played board games. We had a gas stove in the garage that we cooked food on. It was two of the most memorable days of my childhood. I was bummed when the electricity came back on.

The summer wind blew, a zephyr of hope, as I picked beans with my Grandma on her porch. My grandfather just pulled into the driveway from work with his 77 Chevy Sunrise all dirty from the construction site. He gets out, the light red whisp of hair flowing as he comes up to the porch to give my grandma a kiss and to rustle my hair. That night we had a roast beef dinner with the whole family as we gathered together to celebrate the last birthday my grandfather would ever experience. If I had known then what I know now, I would have treasured that day more. A few months from that day, on Dec 5th, he would pass away from Cancer. God…. The memories. My grandparents were basically my parents as my dad worked all the time and my momma had some issues. My granny and I would gather vegetables from the garden and my papa and I would get cherries from his prized cherry tree for homemade cobblers and pies. If he had free time, we would tinker in his garage and build bird houses or desks or fix the junk he found. I miss them. I wrote a short story about the Kat year of my grandfathers life if you’d like to read it.

Gotta try the soup tho, never heard of it before! My favorite childhood memory is around food as well, I must have been 5 or 6 and was going to my grandmother's house with my dad, during a really intense blizzard, and once we got there I was sat at the best spot at the dining table, Narnia cartoon was on for me and a plate of hot, steamy cabbage and mushroom pierogi's put in front of me, I can cry anytime I think of it. My mom had that machine so I picked one up recently. I noticed to shrinkflation a lot of bread is 10-30% smaller than it was in 90s. Took a while to find the right bread.

I don't have a use for a sandwich maker (literally couldn't use it), but I'll still share some memories! When I stayed at my grandparents as kid my grandpa would make crepes for breakfast. I bet not many other midwest kids had crepes. lol They also made unseasoned scrambled eggs sometimes too and I discovered ketchup on eggs is pretty good! Also, I just love these kinds of videos!

Dude, they used to have an entire late night informercial for that thing back in like 1989 and I convinced my mom to order it back then lol. Pretty much used it exclusively for grilled cheese but you should have seen the stuff they were advertising that could be concocted in that thing - they were like making omelets and pies and stuff in those tiny spaces. Your grandpa sounds like he was awesome, mine was a joker like that too - I used to buy Mrs. Grass chicken noodle soup when I was in college because it was all I could afford... and it had that flavor egg thing back then too lol.

I lived with my parents and grandma, so I had tons of amazing grandma memories. We had a chocolate lab named Fudge when I was a kid, one of the sweetest dogs ever. My grandma would spend over $300 on Fannie May chocolates maybe 3-4 times a year, so there was always candy in the house. While we obviously couldn't give the chocolate to he dog, we did use the little paper cups that the candy came in to play with him. I remember, with Fudge sitting on the bed, ready for action, my grandma or me would blow the paper cups off out hand and watch with glee as the dog would catch em out of the air. I can still remember my grandma's laugh during these interactions. I miss her and Fudge so much, but 4 months ago we got a new dog that reminds me so much of Fudge.

My Nan would use a brveille sando maker and do me cheese toasties for lunch. It was simples. Cheddar and tomato ketchup. They were da bomb. Years later when I was preparing to move over here again. I'd have a few bevvy and Mum would ask if I was hungry. She again had a breville and would do me ham and cheddar with english mustard. Total result. Now that you show this thing, I could be tempted unless I get a touch a win one.

My gram told my brother that she got one for us and that it was in the van under the back seat and he didn't believe her and on Christmas morning when we open the PS2, she told him she wasn't lying and if he had actually gone to check he would've found it. Still to this day he never believed her.

My grandma was very well off. We always looked forward to the best presents every christmas at our grandparents house because we knew they were going to be the best presents. One year i wanted this lego set my parents couldn't afford but i knew my grandma could. On christmas morning i was opening her gift to me and she got me a hot-diggity-dogger (it cooks 2 hot dogs and two buns toaster style) I legit started crying i was so sad 🤣. It sat for years unused then i moved out when i was 18 and man i can't tell you how many times i used the shit out of that thing till it died and i thought of her every time i used it 😊 Love you always Nonny 😚

My Grandpa was from Ireland (originally) and when I was like 5 I hated oatmeal. When he would come over to our house in the morning and my Mom would make Oatmeal, the only way he got me to eat it was to have "Oatmeal Races" with me to see who got done the fastest. He also loved "Soft Boiled" eggs in a Egg Cup and would put pieces of ripped up toast in the egg. Soooo good.

My Grandpa had a black and decker spacesaver toaster oven. When he died, my grandma asked what everyone wanted. I asked for the spacesaver. She used it as a flower stand. (She did not like me) Grandpa made pepperoni and cheese sandwiches in that beast, and modern toaster ovens pale in comparison. Also, the spacesaver was a horrible fire risk. Speaking of which, the latch is for storage, you're risking a blowout you daredevil!
