So inspiring watching Cody run despite his relentless cigarette addiction. A pack of cloves a day and still wanting to run ultramarathons. If Cody can do it anyone can.
Unbeknown to most, cigarettes are actually a performance enhancing supplement which will most definitely open up the lungs. Most if not all the top endurance athletes smoke.
I know it’s nothing compared to what most people are doing here but I just ran 15 mins non stop today for the first time in a VERY long time! :) choo choo!!
Signed up for my first half marathon because of this series. Never have been a runner but am so excited to train for something out of my comfort zone. Choo choo !!
hi cody/ choo choos! I just wanted to say I've been struggling with my mental health lately and feeling really stagnant in life - like I need a purpose/ something to work towards. I found this channel a couple weeks ago and it inspired me to sign up for my first race ever - a half marathon in october! I drew up a training plan and have been sticking to it and not to be dramatic, but it feels f*cking incredible to get my ass up every day and stick to my goal. I'm slow as hell right now and have to stop to walk pretty often, but I know that if I stick to it I'll see PROGRESS and 13.3 miles will be a piece of cake. CHOO CHOO BABY (and thank you cody)!!!
Okay I have a small anecdote to share. I was in the Jubilee Cody Ko Gameshow video that came out like a year ago, I was so embarrassed after it released, not only because so many people saw it, but also one of my favorite content creators ROASTED ME (for some reason it didn’t register Cody would make his own video about it). I refused to watch it, I pretty much got off the internet entirely, as social media and the internet as a whole became really depressing for me. Went through some really bad mental health issues, now I’m starting to come into the clearing. Starting taking exercise and healthy living seriously, I’m down 10 pounds! Just recently I found this channel, and I was super hesitant to watch, I guess for me I was still embarrassed to watch content from people I’ve interacted with, but keeping up with this channel has really inspired me to keep up with my newfound healthy habits, so, thanks Cody!
Hey, Cody. Would love to see a whole video or just a part of it where you provide your insights into gear you use while you run. Earbuds, smart watch, clothes (fabric preference), shoes for beginners and so on. Might be a banger :)
My husband ran devils lake marathon in Wisconsin…but they also have a 50 mile course! It’s called devils lake and it’s GNARLEY. DO IT! We will make you signs 🎉
fellow exerciser here to suggest that the cramping could be low electrolytes (potassium specifically) and a nuun tablet between run and lift seem to do in a pinch
I want to thank you and your channel so much! I’ve been a huge fan for years and used to play soccer in college, however since graduating I’ve felt lost and needing some sort of challenge to work towards. I’ve now signed up for my first marathon taking place 3 months and I’ve never been so happy. Thanks again for this channel Cody!
Yo Cody, you may not see this but I have done multiple trail races in Moab on the course for Canyonlands and I know the race directors, let me know if you need any info on the course!
I did Deadhorse in Moab last year and it was insane! Awesome views right next to Arches national park. Most of the race is on slick rock which is a super hard surface so you'll want some supportive shoes. You seem like a Hokah guy so I'm sure you'll be fine.
Tahoe Local here- it can be overwhelming to pick a trail, but it seems like you favor South lake zone... here are a few trails to hit Angora Lakes zone, if you head to the back of Fallen Leaf lake there is a great trail system back there to choose your own adventure, if you want some elevation work go to Bayview Trailhead towards emerald bay and send it up Maggies peak (great views and pass a lake to plunge in). Once you get over south lake and want to head up to the best (west) shore, then you are really talkin.
