Easiest way is to go in to your gp surgery and ask them for a print out of your patient summary of care.... then go home photograph these documents and send them in to your clinic. Hey presto you work around the gp and the doctors are not allowed to ask you why you want the print out and they're not allowed to refuse to give it to you
@@KadysNewLife you say this but my surgery would NOT release my summary of care to me and did ask why I wanted it and said can be requested by clinic only which I said was not true I need it but got ignored have it now but not from them directly
This now explains why I got my SCR straight away from GP back in November and couldn’t get it same way in January 2024! In January it was nightmare obtaining SCR and I honestly thought that it’s just staff at GP is stupid and tells me all the time different things but all sounded like “you cannot get it from GP” and I had to reach managers through complaints to get it finally printed. It took me 2weeks and 5 visits to GP just to get my SCR printed! N h s doesn’t want you to get prescribed with proper medicine as they will loose money on pharma poisons. Thank you Kady for opening my eyes as I honestly thought that staff at GP are having something personal against me but now its clear! By the way MaMedica is my clinic and they are really good!
You know that most GPs are running their own practices, and only work within the NHS. But sure you had bother getting your cannabis script, so the entire NHS is now evil. FFS get a grip.
I was genuinely shocked at how easy it was for me to gain access to my medical records. I sent an email to the GP secretary and picked them up a few days later. I was expecting a battle after hearing the horror stories.
I registered on the nhs app got my files screenshot them sent to clinic, initial contact to recieving meds 9 days.all done with help from your vids.keep up the good work mate👍
I'm a new patient just into my 2nd month, I'm also in Lancashire. I bypassed all this by just sending screenshots from the NHS app with no questions asked. The information contained on the NHS app is basically you're summary
I'm also Lancashire and have just become a patient and awaiting my first medication, I uploaded documents for the initial consultation and the doctor was happy to proceed, I've explained anything further needed I will sort or even they speak directly to a named GP I've had in-depth conversation about pain relief with over the years to confirm the path I was taking for my pain. I will update all if anything happens to slow down the process. But up to now all good.
Also this might not be as bad as it first appears.... if the NHS are monitoring patients that means as long as there's not many adverse reactions they may be 1 step closer to making these medications available on the NHS.
They can turn down the clinic, but they can't turn down you, if you go in personally to the NHS, with your GP and request the information. They can't deny you on some bias against cannabis. That's illegal, they have a legal obligation to help you get the treatment you believe you need.
I just ticked the box on my medical cannabis application giving permission for them to access my medical records. It took 2 days for the clinic to get my records.

Aggressive will not be tolerated by any NHS professional, my advice would be be polite assertive. I have never heard of anybody, having problems accessing MC . But that doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. Keep me posted I’m gonna do some digging of my own. I’m currently engaging with the crime commissioner to find out her stance on medical cannabis among her offices in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, I have a meeting with her tomorrow in person.
Did you know you can opt out of having your Medical Can treatment letters sent to your GP. So if GPs are being asked to monitor it, could be worth opting out of having the treatment letters sent to your GP

I’m confused are the GP s asking to monitor the clinic’s patients, which the gpS would ask to get paid for. The gps might be wanting to charge for admin. Also receptionist can be great or terrible some are nosy and some defensive of their gps. also speaking as a drug prescriber for dependancy abuse i feel "addicts" can get overly supervised scrutinised and discriminated against. hopefully the private clinics are doing a good job defending users.
hi Kady....the Alternaleaf online form, says I have to get the records myself.... the surgery wasnt that helpful and said it may take up to 28 days.....and they wouldnt give me a summary of my records, they said to write the date you want it from...So hopefully Ill get them before my consultation on the 31st... its a real pain in the ar%e.....I have my records from my last doctor, but Im guessing that it wont be good enough, because its a couple of years old....it better work out, Ive already picked out all the goodies Im ready to buy..and Im going with the T21 scheme, after learning this from you....thanks again for another informative video....
took about 10 months for me, i had basically given up on it and then was surprised by an e-mail. My gp surgery phoned me up and asked me what it was about. i told them what it was and they said they wernt authorised to give the information. I said i give authority and they still declined. Not sure what happened but 10 months later got an e-mail saying i had been accepted. Been on prescription for med bud since 2022 =)
Hi kady good to see your still keeping us updated, I remember I told you I was having problems with lyphe clinic since October the pharmacy I use is always out of stock so you get the next thing to it and what I got was dried up crispy brown nuggets I don't know wether to try and swap clinics I'm up in north Scotland so it's still unheard of here if I tell someone I'm getting prescription cannabis they think I've got it from abroad lol it's only now people are clicking on and trying to get a clinic etc,, I just don't know what to do I can't handle stress and swapping clinics I've not got a clue where to start!?x
Try a clinic called alternaleaf. They use the montu pharmacy and it only costs 49 pounds every 3 months plus medication costs. Very professional staff and very helpful id highly reccomend
I had a great response from my GP (after a crap response from receptionist) when I told him about alternaleaf and needing a summary of my records. I educated him a little on bifta and getting off my meds....he couldn't do enough to help me.. he's even interested in the scheme and backed me all the way... Tomorrow is the big day, consultation!!! how long do you think it will take to get my first medication after the consultation?... thanks again Kady....

My Dr surgery wont give out my info to anyone other than me. I just requested my scr and it was sent the next day. Just don't tick the box for the clinic to access your info and do it yourself. Dr's still don't think it's a thing and even argu that clinics exist, this is the reason we are by passing them. Just had a mate go into a chemist to ask about the poster in the window saying he can have his delivered there,the woman was saying out loud in front of customers that it was illegal and he didn't know what he was talking about. He gave up and left, the next time he went in the woman apologised and said she didn't know. Still a big lack knowledge out there especially from gp's. But then they gave out the jabs without knowing what they were doing. 😬
Well your friend seems a lot more patient than I would have been in that situation..... I wouldn't have had that at all, but that's just my confrontational side coming out. I guess I'm just too passionate sometimes for my own good 😂 good on your mate for going back and having the apology he was so rightly deserved. I really do hope many other people are able to follow in the same footsteps as you, if they also have issues obtaining their info.
I think it's down to the GP. When I first started trying to get some form of treatment better than cocodomol, one of the GPs at the surgery basically said that as I had consulted a pain consultant, I should ask him/her. I'd already had 3 bilateral SIJ injections from the pain specialist and this prompted me to look at CBD. I completed a lengthy questionnaire for the clinic, gave them my permission to ask for my medical data, was interviewed by one of the clinic's doctors and away we went. My own GP had no issues giving out my medical data. I have a good relationship with my GP and everyone at the surgery, first name terms. Maybe that's the difference.
I’m in the middle of a struggle with my gp to get my data too, every time I call they say we will do it in so and so days. I was aware of what a SARS is but didn’t know this also applies to gp practises. Thanks again for another informative video
See I had problems with my gp getting them to give files to sapphire, after 3 months of arguing with them I went down there got spoken to like a child so I grabbed a pen and wrote like a child I give consent 😂😂

Before going to a clinic, get in touch with your GP and ask for access to your medical records. I did this as I cant rely on my GP to do anything I ask. Means I could cut out them going to my GP (IIRC).
I have been with Alternaleaf in Australia since October last year. Currently I am having major delays due to the angst between local GP's and their attitude toward MC & PRIVATE Cdocs. This affects my prescriptions, my access to medicine, EVERYTHING. Such a bloody nuisance!
This is terrible its just stigma still I think. I luckily never had this trouble as my docs would not dare block any treatment as they totally misdiagnosed me and it nearly killed me. But I did have this issue after I was diagnosed in 2019 with crohns ( probably the first illness to have cannabis recognised as being good for it ) not one of my doctors or any of the hospital doctors told me about medical cannabis even though I had been honest about my cannabis use and had told them how much it helped the pain instead they said it was bad for me and to stick to the codeine and oxycodon 2 extremely addictive substances. They way I found out about mc was youtube gps are terrible
Lol randomly my docs did the same thing to me lol ive been on maximum pip and esa etc ever since...... doctors wrote me a lovely letter for the department of work and pensions lol. Think that was their way of saying sorry. As the dr who did it died shortly after of a brain aneurism so karma maybe played a part there too? Lol who knows.

I live in the area mentioned and had great difficulties in getting medical until I took it into my own hands and unlocked my NHS app and supplied all relevant info myself.
I commented on one of your other videos that I thought Sapphire were ignoring me, but have since re read their emails and they clearly say that they are struggling to get hold of my summary health care record from my GP. Bizarrely, when I reapplied to Curaleaf, I had an appointment at GP the day after, and when I arrived at reception after she'd checked me in she said 'I've got a request here from Curaleaf, do you want me to grant hem access to you files'. Very strange.
I’d not get a private script now. Been having severe stomach issues and vomiting the last few weeks and I’ve just been diagnosed with CHS…..Nobody is gonna prescribe to me seeing that in my recent medical records
I have a legal script. I have been told I have heart failure. ❤ I will I think lose my prescription now and have to buy off street. I've just had a bit dropped off and I do miss that smell. Do you think I'll lose my prescription? I changed surgeries recently so my clinic want updated. I'm worried 😢. I drive. Ps I suffer vomiting also. Doctor gave me ravlo,it is a numbing agent and painkiller. You can put it on your stomach. It'll help soothe. Cramping can be painful. You can't take pain relief when sick. You do not need it with this patch. You can still take your ordinary painkillers on tip. Just a suggestion.
@@Max-wh6kf I don’t know if you’d lose you script or not, but cannabis can cause increased heart rate and arrhythmia, so it’s probably 50/50. My issue is caused by chronic cannabis use. I’ve been stopped for 3 days now and my stomach is already feeling better. I’ve replaced the cannabis with Psilocybin micro dosing and that seems to be helping with pain etc.
This is within the scope of GDPR General data protection act. you just need to give permission for your doctors practice to give your records to your new doctor practice.
Many people in the comments said they gave permission but never heard back or they asked a lot of questions. Losing patients and money for pharmaceutical I guess is the issue
I had to request a SAR from reception go away fill it out bring it back,I couldn't get an appointment to see my GP for this matter, Three weeks and I had to pick them up then send them away to a clinic. After the clinic received them the whole process took around three months before I could order my first prescription and wait for that. I'm going to be honest it's great to now be legal with my medicine but my medication sucks compared to illegal medical Mary and costs more although I have heard you mentioned the price of your strain which I also had and paid double for the same product. In all I'm happy to be medicating legally but unhappy with the UK quality of bud even the top strains which are expensive are rubbish compared to bud grown with love Imo ... Keep up the good work.
Yeh I literally had this problem when I first went to get MC. The receptionist at my GP said that the link to send the summary records was not a secure NHS portal. I had to go down get it printed and had it in to my clinic.
Took a lot of pestering on my part for my GP to send my Summary of Care to Mamedica. What should have took a few days actually look 5 weeks!! I did get a lovely secretary on my last call that got it sorted immediately and she also said that they were getting loads of these requests lately. That was 9 months ago.
@danrdgreen just curious as u said took 5 weeks and what u did or said that made them finally send it. This whole aspect is making my anxiety alot worse.
@hirenvaland101 I gave them 2 weeks to send it but when I spoke to mamedica they said the hadn't received it so I phoned the doctors reception and asked what the hold up was. I believe the hold up was just lack of staff, so I waited another week or two and then phoned again. This time I got a receptionist that was very apologetic for the wait I had injured and she promised to send them off that very day which she did, she also said she was getting lots of these requests lately. I think by law they have to give you a SCR if requested, they don't seem to be in any rush to give it you but they get there eventually. I tried not to lose my temper and was polite and it all worked out.
When I first asked for my summerynof care it wasn't a problem yet I've asked for an update and they won't give it to me .they just give me snippets and not what I'm asking for
I've had terrible trouble getting the correct documents from the GP. The SCR had very little on it so got extra documents from the GP. Sent to Mamedica and they said it wasn't good enough. Got more documents from the GP and they have accepted it. It took 4 requests from the GP to get all the correct paperwork together. Very stressful.

I'm only 49. I'm scared 😱 my clinic will find out. I'm not being honest at the next consultation but I've changed surgeries and pretty sure they'll get big fat No more for her by my gp. He hasn't mentioned my prescription for legal weed. I can't find a thing positive on google and did ask a chat guy for a private clinic and he said no we wouldn't give you that. I'm going to have to go back to street weed. Then I can't drive. I'm bloody gutted. I read cannabis can cause heart failure. I don't think my cannabis smoking is the reason. Hey love sorry to hear that you're going through this at the moment. I personally wouldn't have any advice other than maybe looking through a Reddit thread. The easiest way to find one is by typing in keywords into Google and then adding Reddit to the end of it. You never know you may find somebody who has some advice. You won't have to sign up just to read them. Other than that I would suggest maybe trying to find any online or local cannabis enthusiast health clubs or anything where people are talking about heart and cannabis 💜

If anybody knows, it would be you. I went back to street weed. I just overslept twice, costing me £100 for 2 apps. So I just got my own. I can say it is a nice to smell that old smell again. I'll update you in the future about my clinic and how it goes once they find out my diagnosis. Maybe help someone searching for the same question or for you for your own knowledge as I know medical advice you can not give. Pointing me in the right ✅️ direction anyway to find an answer. yes i got stopped i have phoned my gp many times like 3-4 and they would never send my record to saphire medical hence i could not legilly get my meds so i resorted to getting it myself

Loving your channel. I'm with CB1 Medical. They were able to access my basic clinical data immediately. I know their doctors work for the NHS also so they probably have access to my records. Just waiting for my first delivery tomorrow. I was prescribed 20g or both T22 Delahaze, Sativa & GROW LA SAGE. See what its like.
Not suprised at this at all, common tactic for some professionals when dealing with difficult or challenging situations, call them aggressive and you don't have to deal with it. Happens to patients and professionals a like, seen it from both sides, there's someone from local mental health team that aggressively argues with our staff and then goes to his manager and calls abuse, I've had to back less experienced colleagues that have been left shaken.
Wow - this is all very big brother!!! Why would a GENERAL practitioner have anything productive to add when you're being looked after by specialist doctors via your clinic. I'd always advocate for patients obtaining their own SCR. Patients have a right to access their own information although the clinics should be able to get it given authorisation by the individual.
And the fact some privet group can demand your records is totally fine, and should have zero restrictions, eh... Because that's totally not dodgy. It's about the clinics being assholes to NHS staff. But you're blaming the NHS staff for not putting up with the sh!tty staff some clinic may hire. Yes, lets all blame the NHS because err my cannabis.
@theressomelovelyfilthdownh4329 The point is that the NHS has nothing to do with prescribing cannabis. They have zero skin in the game and no authority to intervene. As far as private clinics wanting your records goes; this is obvious. They need to see proof of your medical issue for which you are seeking cannabis and that you've explored other options first. It's up to the patient whether they want to provide it or not. It's all consent-led. However without showing proof the MDT panel will not approve your case. Ultimately, it's about patients (many of whom are disabled such as myself) with issues that negatively impact their daily lives being able to access medication that can help them in the most efficient way possible. I'd welcome it via the NHS as it will make it accessible to those who simply can't afford to go private. However, they're hampered by red tape. Until that changes, the NHS has nothing to do with the process.
@theressomelovelyfilthdownh4329 clinics needing your records is logical. Medicinal cannabis is intended as a last resort of sorts and is only prescribed for a limited range of issues. The specialists need to know you have one of these qualifying conditions, and you've explored conventional treatments first. It's also patient-led. You can decline to provide your SCR, but you won't be prescribed medical cannabis. I'd love MC to be available via the NHS as it would make it a viable option for so many more people with serious medical issues. However, the simple fact is that right now, it isn't outside of a single digit number of patients. As such, the NHS has no role to play, and they just end up causing delays for patients seeking treatment for serious issues that they've not yet found a suitable treatment for via the same organisation causing the delays.
Ok, user, Nurse and senior union rep. So the 4 UK governments are the ones who determine what they want GP’s to do. Remember GP’s are NOT employed by the NHS. So basically anything that is not on that contract they do not have to do. Most probably do if they know the patient but no one can force them. I had to tell my local doctor he better hand my info over after 6 weeks waiting. I walked into the doctors with a written letter telling them i would sue them if they didnt sort it out. That day they handed it over lol and they told me how sorry they were. Trust me i was really pissed off at the time and pulled out cash telling them if its a matter of money to do the admin then how much, it didnt cost me any money just time.If anyone out there is being delayed by there doctor do as i did and just go direct into the doctors with a letter ready and tell them they have no rights to delay your meds : P

How noble of them. No issues with destroying peoples liver though opiates like Tramadol prescribed for nerve pain. Why should a known and dangerous addictive substance be prescribed for pain when less dangerous, less chemically addictive substances such as cannabis in edible form are seen as "totally unthinkable" for Doctrors to prescribe. So many people have been overprescribed dangerous opiates for pain when less dangerous compounds have been proven to alleviate pain in a slightly different way. There are risks to every drug, every drug has sideffects especially when abused.

I've felt fear for so long my adrenal glands are exhausted and just stopped working for abit I carried on breathing didn't experience any psychosis if anything it was a clear mind however this is when I began to notice what I was capable of whilst on adrenaline

Got to love the people on here who jump to bad-mouthing the NHS when it's really about the cannabis clinics, maybe not hiring such great staff. But oh, it's big brother, or the NHS are evil drug pushers. FFS catch yourselves on, and stop acting like spoilt brats... Try having to deal with both an ESA, and PIP appeals lasting 14 months during a cost of living crisis. Of the last almost six years, I have spent over 3.5yrs fighting protracted appeals. Having to justify myself in front of an appeal board with a judge etc. The first time I had to actually do this was in our local courthouse, like I was on trial for a crime. Never had an issue getting any records from my local health centre. Or any other service I was referred to for that matter. If the staff at your local health centre ask why you'd like your summary of care. Just tell them you're in an appeal with the DWP over ESA/PIP. You don't need to give a reason, it's your info regardless. It just saves a lot of hassle. I have no idea how the people on here whining about having issues with some made up evil version of the NHS deal with the real world around them. Clearly it can't be any issues on their part, they're perfect, after all... If you have any real world issues with the quality of care within the NHS as a whole, I strongly suggest you take that up with the Tories at the next general election. Neither of them nor Labour even bother standing here, yet the same sh!t rolls downhill. Not go about publicly badmouthing the NHS when you have a minor issue getting your medical cannabis. Most likely caused by you being clueless and prob a bit cheeky when you ask for it, or the clinics staff not being held to the same high standards as NHS staff. I and many of you out there know people who work really hard within the NHS for not so great money. Maybe try not being such a spoilt brat because your medical cannabis didn't magically fall into your lap with zero effort on your part. Just an idea that may help with life in general.
Mainly I think the issue is the apprehension of giving the information to which is legally yours. If you look at the comments it seems like many many people have had issues obtaining their information down to the GP being told not to interact with the clinics. This obviously has a knock on effect for the patient. I think that's the issue 💜
