I know why it's so terrible living in Nepal, it's because the nation is just the Himalaya Mountains and smashed between China and India who absolutely hate each other. The mountains makes it really difficult for travel, and China and India just cause a lot of distress for anyone living in between, I mean if China or India fire a nuclear missile and it malfunctions it could end up hitting Nepal or Bhutan. And also, it could take hours just to go a few kilometres because of all the rough terrain. Apart from that, the snow-capped peaks and wildlife like yaks and goats would be amazing scenery.

Nepal, such a beautiful country with kind people and unfortunately garbage everywhere. Burning garbage in villages, local people throwing a plastic bottle on the street. According to Lorch (2014), people throw the trash to a river, leave it on the edge of the road or just throw it out of the bus window. This has a significant impact on people´s health and water in rivers. Due to the no strict and clear rules you can see garbage virtually everywhere. When we came to Kathmandu the situation was according to locals much worst. There were heaps of trash from householders on the streets, because nobody had collected. This was due to the strikes of low pay, which were two weeks. Behind this all is the non-stable government, which changes every year due to a big competition between politicians.

Some of these countries are beautiful, and have some of the richest people. I think it’s cuz of the disparity between the rich and the poor. In example, Nigeria. A lot of those African country are praised by people from the continent. Nigeria and Ghana have a lot of American immigrants.

North Korea is overall pretty clean, has universal education and free access to hospital. I would say it is a 0.5-0.6 but definitely not the worst country to live in. Kim Jung-Un is just a very famous dictator but not the only dictator in this world. Majority Of Africa operate in dictatorship or monarchy not to mention Somali and South Sudan are basically anarchy.

You need to study about other indices to understand HDI.. HDI is just one reflective index of development.. High HDI doesn't mean good living conditions.. UAE has a HDI of 0.89 bt nor even royals r keen on staying there.. Bhutan has HDI of 0.6 but they hav their own index based on happiness. Basically HDI just factors development, and development doesn't mean proper living conditions. And since u are taking HDI as your basis, fun fact: UNDP doesn't calculate HDI for North Korea
