I found the Perfect Micro Torch Kit, The Lexivon LX-771. 

The problem is the trigger would somehow need to be depressed and the spring is strong so the chances of it accidently being pushed is slim.

@737mechanic Okay, so they both do the same jobs . You mean to tell me there is no difference at all like one heats more than the other, or one lasts longer ,has a bigger butane liquid holding tank etc..

40 years as a professional mechanic and common sense person and I have removed these types of lawyer devices for decades as most professionals do and if that trigger can somehow pull itself under that much spring tension while it is sitting in the toolbox I will take full responsibility. These stupid things get put on these tools because some lawyer won a lawsuit claiming that if the tool would have had this type of a device it wouldn't have happened and the truth is the person operating it was the problem not the tool because the person was someone who had no knowledge of the device or common sense and ended up catching something on fire. BTW you have put out ZERO fires because a homeowner removed the trigger lock on a butane torch.

@@737mechanic I have not, to my knowledge, but I have put out plenty of mechanic shops because of carelessness, stupidity, or both. Point is, YOU may not accidently shove that up against something causing it to ignite but you can't tell me it isn't possible.

@@gilmo1938 Anything is possible I guess but I know from life experience that there are many accidents that happen today because of these safety devises because people have a false sense of security and think since this tool has a safety devise, I can't get hurt so they get complacent, and they stop thinking about what they are doing. If this torch had a touch sensitive button that when lightly touched would spark the flame, then I would completely understand the need for a safety switch but when it takes 10lbs of finger force to pull the trigger back a full inch to get the flame started that in itself is plenty of safety. I totally get where you are coming from but in this case this tool would have been way to inconvenient to use in my opinion. Now if they would have made it where you had a pistol grip safety so when you grip it then it compresses and that allowed you to pull the trigger that would have been fine.

Because a mini torch like this is NOT what plumbers use to solder copper tube. The flame is too small and concentrated to a fine point. I larger propane torch is what most plumbers will use for the type of job you are talking about.

​@@737mechanic, I have never seen a plumber use anything but a propane torch. A mini torch is useful for many things, but is not the ticket for a plumber.

I guess the main thing to me is why it even needs a safety, there is plenty of spring tension to prevent accidentally squeezing the trigger. It is so much easier to simply pick it up and squeeze the trigger and your off. The main thing you need to realize is if you have to pick it up then set it down for a second then pick it up and do that over and over for some job you are doing then that little safety crap really gets annoying as hell.

This is a micro butane torch so it is NOT going to solder copper pipes.

@737mechanic Foh with that bs of a comment . There is video of a dude doing solder with a smaller torch than this bro and he even tested it to make sure no leaks and it worked. Took a Lil longer but it still did the fucking job . Like I said it's for me not to use or lend to a plumber if they need one . Something to get by and still manage to do the job properly. Bet if you were not to be negative and give it a try it works maybe not to your likingbut still does the job
