Hi Ellis, I'm Juan the guy from Local Visitante. First of all, thank you for stopping by the place and publishing your visit, although it would have been nice if you told me about your channel because I didn't know about it and i really like the content. Also, I tell you that what you calculated was wrong. $93,000 Argentine pesos are £74 pounds, our exchange rate is £1 pound = $1243 Argentine pesos. I hope you didn´t pay everything with card because the exchange was not going to favor you at all, however if you exchanged £ for Argentine pesos in cash everything would have been much cheaper. Unfortunately, in our country we have two exchange markets, an official one that we cannot access and the parallel one with the values that I mentioned. I hope you had a great time in Argentina and you can visit again in the future, it was a pleasure to welcome you in the store.

Mate I was in Argentina same time as you and went to many of these shops. If you used a visa or Mastercard to pay, you would of been able to access the ‘foreign tourist dollar’ and all these shirts would of been over half the price! Visa converts to the favourable exchange rate on purchase, while Mastercard refunds the difference after a few days! Or western union would of given you the same!

7:23 it’s a shirt of Peñarol from Uruguay used in 1966, Peñarol defeated River Plate 4-2 in the libertadores final and then Peñarol defeated Real Madrid 2-0 in Uruguay and 0-2 in Spain to become world champions (Intercontinental cup) that shirt is from the biggest team ever in South America, Peñarol from the 60’s was one of the best squad ever in the world 🇺🇾

I don't think so, that's not black/yellow but navy/yellow, probably Rosario Central or Atlanta. But there was probably one Peñarol shirt at 13:47. It's a Nanque (an Argentinean brand) shirt from '90s, that is great in my opinion. “Probably” because it doesn't have Parmalat sponsor on the back, so it could be a generic Nanque jersey.

@@thirtyseven37Peñarol had that type of shirt with that type of fabric made by Adidas in 1966, the black looks kind of washed out i guess because of time but it might not be a Peñarol shirt we never know... since Peñarol in that time didnt have the crest and the Adidas logo on the chest. Adidas used to have factories in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile around the 90s and 2000s. I still have a couple of Brazilian superstars from the beginning of the 2000s. if you were traveling to little towns sometimes you could find the '90s Adidas national teams, I found the 94 France blue jersey and a 92 River plate too and I paid like 5 USD for them. And yes, your Argentinian jersey is original and it was made in Argentina.

You calculated using the official exchange rate on google, but using a card from a foreing country you would get a special exchange rate. For example that PSG shirt for 34k ARS would have cost you 33 gbp, not 70ish GBP. The exchange rate is a little lower than "blue" cash rate that people are telling you but with the comfyness of using card.

I have just been to Argentina and I know that their currency right now is very confusing due to inflation. But if you would have gotten money out using Western Union, you get 1000 pesos for 1 pound, which makes it really cheap. This is called the blue dollar rate and that is the official rate, but the banks and online currency sites can’t follow the inflation, and that’s why they use a very high rate.

93,000 pesos isn’t 220 pounds. You are converting with the official exchange rate. You needed to swap dollars to pesos at the dollar blue rate (visit a shore on Calle Florida) and it would work out at less than half the price.

You should have exchanged pounds into US dollars in the UK, before travelling to Argentina. Once you arrived in Buenos Aires, you should have exchanged your dollars for pesos in the black market (there are tons of people shoting "cambio" in Florida street). In the black market (called "blue" in Argentina) your dollars are worth the double.

Regarding the training sweatshirt, it's genuine from an adidas licenciate company, gatic. So it's legitimate but Argentina domestic market only. Probably the same for the Palmeiras shirt but from Brazil domestic Market.

In argentina 95% football stuff is not original/legit. People dont mind buying fake, good replicas. People wont overpay to buy original jerseys.

Those where actually very good prices, just consider the real dollar price. 100.000 pesos it's 100 dollars like 90 quids.

If you bring cash and exchange in the "blue" market you'll get around 100k pesos for each 100USD so 200k pesos would only be like 200USD

Rivaldo never played in this shirt unfortunately, this was a year or 2 before he signed so the number 10 was not for him. Still a cool shirt though.
