I Found This Broken Bolt in the Crankcase of my Cheap Range Rover’s Engine! [Part 3]

I just don’t think enough of these old rovers make it to a point where they are rebuilt before something else happens where it becomes not pragmatic for the owner to do it , so I don’t think there’s gonna be a big market out there for over sized pistons

If you pull the engine, the clutch will be nice and easy to change also

no wonder we are running out of stuff when one thing is broken the default answer is replace instead of repair

@@hillppari a lot of parts vendors do actually take old parts back for a partial refund of the purchase price to encourage recycling.

This is a great point. I live in Japan and often find it cheaper to source LR parts from the UK. Even with shipping, import fees, and the exchange rate I come out ahead.

Not true Rover V8 parts are not expensive. No more than any other car.

I bet she , if youre even married, is pretty much like many women and doesnt know or even care to know how to work on a vehicle. Thats why i said i like the way he explains things, he tells us in a very easy to understand manor that even my wife could follow and understand exactly whats wrong and how he is going to fix it. I showed my wife my comment and showed her your comment, you wouldnt believe me if i told you what she said about you, haha. As for me "allowing" her to do anything, that doesnt happen because she thinks for herself and doesnt need me or anyone to LET her do anything. She has 2 masters degrees and is 100% smarter than i am so dont go getting yourself all worked up being a CAPTAIN SAVE A HOE in the comment section because youre not smart enough to realize what i said was in no way negative towards her. Mine too. And a cup of tea in the ep2 also reminds us to Edd China. I have found this channel just recently and all I can say is RESPECT :) From excavators to Range Rover - as it was mentioned before - videos are technical but certainly not boring. Thumbs up :)

Edd China was the best mechanic the little fat guy had, he could fix or repair anything from any country he shoved in Edds hands.

Edd has his own youtube channel now where he's done some Range Rover rebuilds, definitely worth checking out

Add China was my favorite auto technician and I quit watching the show once he was gone

I did manage to find oversized bearings! Also, I do have a machinists straight edge, so I should be all set there. I think a rebuild is in the future for this 👍

Dana 70 front axles are as rare as hens teeth, used by dodge and international from 1958-mid 1970s. He'd be time, money and effort ahead if he used a Dana 60 dually front axle from a square body.

Yes, I love the idea of a Dana 70, though as mentioned above, they're very rare! 👍

@@WaldosWorld unfortunately yes, or maybe you could try to use an f450 front axle, bc like you had mentioned in the past, the c3500hd is essentially a 4500hd. just throwing out options
