If iron masks gold and silver in your own backyard dig every scrap untill the detector is completely silent it's not normally practical to do this but in your own yard why not

I really enjoyed your video. I’d be scared to death to go underneath the house like that, but I think guys could do it better than girls. I don’t know.😅 I was really hoping just for your sake to see you get a coin or piece of jewelry so Nikki could have it. It was really great seeing Nikki, who looks absolutely fabulous and little Johnny, what a cute little guy he is. You both should be so proud of him being his parents!! I think I mentioned it to you once before, but I watch a RU-vidr that is called Under The Plains, usually done in Colorado US and he’s always getting maps of the area and he’ll figure out, please don’t take this the wrong way, he’ll find out where the out houses were because that’s where they would throw broken dishes, etc. He has found an old singer sewing machine down there and it’s just incredible. I wonder if you’d be able to figure out if there was an outhouse on your property behind the house by a very old map. I know you showed a map at the beginning, but I can’t remember what you said what year it was from but anyways that’s what they used to do with out houses among other things. When we dug up our garden in Enkhuizen to build an extension we found lots of clay pipe and also tiles.. so much fun to learn abortus the history of the place you live.

Thank you for showing your handsome son Johnny and his beautiful mother Nikkie. These are your priceless treasures. You still have alot of garden to treasure hunt. You might find with bit of digging a deep hole that is filled with rubbish that contains old glass bottles, pottery, more clay pipes and other things. Carry on treasure seeking.

That was the habit back then, Lee, anything flammable was, well, flammed lol and anything else that would not burn, was buried. I guess that’s why so little paper etc and ephemera of any kind is ever found compared to the other detritus that litters the ground everywhere that people have congregated over millennia. I blame the parents of the little pyromaniacs. Either that or the bloody Witch-finders and their burnings. They were always on the lookout for anything they could use as kindling 😂👍🏻

when I look under your house. there is still a lot of work to do. The pillars urgently need to be improved. In my opinion, whoever installed these pillars like this is not an expert and should refrain from such work. What you need are two thick boards 10cm thick and 30x30 centimeters wide and a large jack. With this you raise the floor joists a little and fill the gaps with real stones. I would like to help but at 70 years old I can't even get under the house. When you're done, you can add a thick layer of insulation underneath. Preferably stone wool and another layer of boards. so that you always have warm feet in winter. have fun at work. maybe Wim can help with that. This way your house will stand for another 100 years or more. greetings from an old German Wood worker to a lucky family😂

When I was young my grandmother passed away. We had to go under the house to fix a pipe. My dad found buried Mason jars. $273,000.00. KEEP DIGGING !!!😂

For old homes in high water table areas, pillar and beam foundations are common. It can keep the house dry. At least these pillars are brick. The house I grew up in hardwood pillars.

Great video eh so much history under your house. If you ever go missing we know where to look for you 🤣🤣. Fantastic news about your foot healing, still reckon Sir Wim in a nurse's uniform looking after you would've been a scream 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I am so glad you looked through your yard. I looked through mine when I got my detector, but all I found was trash, old soda bottle (like from the 1980s) and a busted up toy truck that my grandson loves. haha He gets excited when we find anything. It was great to see Nicky and Johnny. I can see he is the serious one of the home. lol. I donated to the live today, because my laptop did not show the thanks button and I had to do it on my phone. Still learning some things on RU-vid. Cant wait to see the next renovation episode! Take care.

Hey man, always enjoying your videos. Little tip: I don't want to seem like a stalker or anything, but by showing the old map, People willbe able to find your house withing 5 minutes on Google Maps... Those brick piers look like they could do with a firming up where they touch the floor joists. Some are alright but some are shocking and just wedged up waiting to fall out. The one next to you when you found the clay pipe bowl is a good example.

I’ve been using the Garrett Carrot in the yard with my magnet. Just got a cheap metal detector last week. But I swear by the Garrett. I rigged a piece of pvc pipe on the end like a long handle & it’s so much easier not to Bend do much. Love it!!

We were plowing our garden with a rented tiller. We damaged the tiller & lost our deposit because we hit a rake & have no idea how long it was buried. So we bought a metal detector to check the rest of the area. Have a great week.

You've made the yard a bit safer for Johnny! What a beautiful hydrangea you have!! It looks like you might also need to do some drainage work in the yard if water pools in a certain area. Check out how the water runs across the property in the next rain.

It would be cool to take all that small stuff you found and put them in a thinish shadow box to display in your home. A cool representation of what it used to be.

Look for where an outside privy may have been, every thing were dumped down those. You should make a shadow box with your finds in it. Great for johnny in the future.

Hi, Leigh and Nicky (footage is always better when you're doing the camerawork, Nicky). Big bonus: we got to see Nicky AND Johnny. It's a shame you didn't find more in the garden, but I'm happy with the pottery pieces and the pipe stems plus the one pipe bowl. You might have to look at drainage issues with the amount of surface water that was in the garden. Loved seeing your beautiful family. Thanks for sharing 👍
