One thing I've learned in over 50 years of using tube amps is. ALWAYS carry a full set of tubes and fuses of the proper rating to to any gig. Lots of great tube amps have been up blown by someone who used the wrong fuse. Or worse wrapped tinfoil around the bad fuse and stick it back in.
If you think about it that way - what with ungrounded mics, death caps and all the sex, drugs and rock n roll. Its a wonder anyone made it out of the 60's and 70's alive. :)
Thank you for your videos. I'm a new ygm3 owner and your advice/instruction is invaluable! What are your opinions regarding: speaker replacement, adding mid control, adding master volume, and open, partial or closed back? Is there any chance you could organise ygm3 recommended modification lists for different results? i.e. clean jazz amp, classic rock or high gain. Thanks again, Michael
Thanks Micheal ... I don't like master volumes so I've removed more than I've added ... I've made open backs for these amps and I am undecided... I like the thump of the closed back ...but I think open or partly open would work better for large stages & venues... for large outdoor shows I have been using fender amps on the advice of an experienced sound-man buddy who says that open cabs work better at outdoor festivals
