It is so damn hard to find a hairdresser that knows how to cut curly hair. I got a really good haircut from somebody at a first-choice a few years ago and when I went back the girl who cut my hair had left. I was devastated.

Before pandemic hit, I made an appointment at a salon and specifically requested for someone who has the most experience in cutting curly hair. I had my doubts when I saw I'd been given a white girl with silky straight hair. But I didn't wanna judge and decided to give her a chance... but turns out I was right to doubt her. Just seeing the techniques she used told me she was only experienced in straight hair. At the end, I gave up trying to salvage what she'd done to my hair and just accepted with what was done. I've been trying teach myself how to cut my own hair since then.

Same.. Years ago, I found someone who knows what to do to my wavy hair and brows as well.. Unfortunately, he left the salon.. Too bad I didn't get his social media account otherwise I would've gone to the new salon his working at.. 😔

Yes. That's why it she wanted sun kissed hair. Like she had been in the sunshine. Not like she got her hair done. More subtle and natural is what I belive she said from the beginning.

@@elsamarinamartinez908 that's true. But she said that she wanted to enhance the structure of her curls. I personally think that more visible and kind of "chunky" highlights would bring out the structure even more. But it's only important that she is happy.

My only thing is sometimes people can over style with curly hair and I think it will look better after she washes it so there isn't so much gel. Maybe they forgot to scrunch out the crunch! I still think the cut is overall flattering and will help in the long run.

Oh my gosh I was shocked that the color didn't look different. And the hair looked like she just got a trim. When I go to my hair salon I tell my stylist what I want not the other way around.

As an advice, never let someone cut your curly hair with a razor like that, it destroys your pattern, specially if you have wavy/curly hair

My hair is razor cut and it did not do anything bad to my curl pattern. My hair stylist explained it, she used the razor differently than she would with people who have straight hair. I can see it not working with certain techniques. Ultimately your hair dresser will know what they are doing if they have the proper training. So don't worry!

Can anybody tell me why hairdressers arent trained in EVERY HAIR TYPE? Idk how it goes but it’s so hard to find a hairdresser that caters to my curls but it’s like shouldn’t they know if they’re a hairdresser? Just curious.

@@ju8560 Nope not really. I've spent years trying to find a hairdresser who can do curly hair properly and they don't know how. I'm not saying all hairdressers are like this, but most are.

Sis didn't need all that, just a good deep conditioner and a curly girl routine. Her length and layers before were really boho and cool. They gave her a mom style cut and the finished result looks greasy.

As far as hair goes - It's not about "what she needed." It's about what she was wanting. And the end result didn't really look greasy. At all.

Agreed. What she really needed was to learn how to properly care for her hair type. What products she needs and how to use them. The stylist might have curly hair herself but it's obvious she's not truly a trained curl specialist. Honestly I have yet to see an actual quality curly hair video from thus channel.

A little tip, I have curly hair and I always take a curling iron & revamp my curls & or fix the frizzy ones. Spray a little hair spray over it and boom good as new

its so unfortunate that there arent many curly hair salons or they are extremely expensive. i have been cutting my own hair for 2 years, because my hairdresses cut it in a way that it made my hair straight.
