I talk about the day of the operation, the difficult 3 months post op and everything in-between. it's been a hell of a ride but you can decide for yourselves if you think its been worth it!
Fella, this explanation is spot on! 👍🏼 I am 12 days post op from Vera Clinic in Turkey and I felt the same pain with injections and also with the procedure. Can't wait for results. I met 6 plus guys from UK too ranging from North to South. Good luck with the hair gainz. 👊🏽👍🏼
Just come across this, I’m coming upto three months post op. What an excellent review, best one I’ve seen on here, so good (and funny!) I’m getting a bit impatient now… 3 months next week since I had it done.
Amazing and thanks for this reality check video. I'm starting on some medication and will give it a year to see what restores in this manner. And then sometime next winter or spring will probbaly jump on a transplant. You're in way better shape than me though. Super curious to see your update at month 9 and 12
I had my hair transplant just over a week ago. My scabs have come off and I see the new baby hairs growing. Once those hairs fall out I will have to start covering my head again until my hair grows properly. It's the waiting game but hopefully by summer time I have nice hair grown.
Great video. Horrendous experience. Glad it is working out well. I will give it a miss 🤣 Congratulations on getting over 6k subs, really well deserved 👏🍻
Cheers Mark,, I've crept over the last couple of days 🎉 give us a shout when I get to 7 next year! It's a unique experience that hopefully 🙏 I don't have to go through again
I admire your honesty in telling us your experience. I think I’m going to go with the bald route. Don’t think I can go through that process. Plus heard so many horror stories of it not working and having repeat procedures.
I think Tony Hayes said it best. You’re a good bloke mate. No matter how much hair you have. Now I’m not one to be able to talk about hair with any strength as I don’t have any. 😮 But I am a good judge of character…
This is why it's so important to do your research before getting a HT. You could've saved yourself all the stress and worry if you knew shedding was completely normal and is SUPPOSED to happen in order for new and thicker hairs to grow. Surgery forces hairs into the catagen phase, where they will then lie dormant in the telogen phase for 3-4 months. Hair does this naturally all throughout your life. That's why most sheds get better 3-4 months after surgery and continue to get better up to 18 months post surgery. I'm on week 10 post-HT and it looks awful but I have zero worry because I know it's normal. Lesson - do your research. P.S - I really hope you are also on medical therapy. HTs only reverse the years, it doesn't prevent the hairs you still had from receding. It's very important to start on a DHT blocker like finasteride if you want to preserve your hair, especially after having paid thousands for a HT.
@@manns101101 It looks awful but that's a good sign that hair follicles have taken and are shedding to make way for new growth. Everyone should be told this by their surgeon but sadly are not.
@@maclegend9169 Agreed. I got a full info pack from my clinic telling me what to expect plus a support line I could go to and ask questions, so this was fully expected from me.
Thanks for sharing Andrew. Looks like you’re getting a decent result already, so in another few months it should be looking really good. Process looks about as bad or a bit worse maybe than I thought but I’m still going for it in the new year I think. Not looking forward to that ‘cap’ period though!!🧢🤣👍
Good luck Stuart,,, if my results get better from today then it's been totally worth it..... if you can pull off a skin head or wear a cap without being questioned you'll be fine
I like how you didn’t glaze over how painful the injections at the beginning of the procedure. It was the worst pain I encountered. The month after sucks pure ass physically and mentally. I’m 3 months after procedure and still patiently waiting for the serious growth.
I got lasik done and it took a year to see the full results (for me personally), pretty bad eye to 20/20, was amazing. Nothing wrong with doing something for yourself, your hair line wasn't going to improve in the next 18 months so what odds, go for it! You'll be fully recovered before a Rolex AD would call most of us about a sports model :)
Another 6 months u can have it how u want that will thicken up massively and look. It’s a hell of a lot better than what you previous had. It will be worth in the end
Great video! It was almost like listening to my own experience. I'm only 32 days post op so i'm just in the mist of the shedding stage now. I had mine done in Hungary where the doctor performed the entire procedure himself over a 3 day period, 3000 grafts (1000 each day). Dude, those numbing injections were no joke and i'm pretty sure the doctor thought I was a lil bitch the entire time. The first day I didn't know what to expect so I gritted my way through the injections. The second day I gripped the arm rest of the chair, held my breathe and told him to just do it and get it over with. By the end of the second day I was convinced I wasn't going back for the 3rd. I was willing to live the rest of my life with a half done fucked up hairline just so I didn't have to go through the injections again. Actually the 3rd day wasn't as bad. I guess because my head was already partially numbed from the two days prior. After it was done I had two days to chill before I had to fly back to Canada. 3 airports and 3 airplanes looking like Frankenstein, my head wrapped at the back and my forehead twice it's normal size with blood and oozing fluid running down the sides of my face. Total mess. All in all I know it'll be worth it in the end so i'm ok with the little inconveniences over for the next few months.
Looks good Andrew, just had my crown done 2 days ago in Manchester. Got no pain so fingers crossed. I have been taking finastride for 3 months before this stops any further loss of your natural hair and sometimes encourages more grow. Out of interest what was your hair washing procedure after surgery. Mine is to start 24 hours later with low pressure and flannel over grafts, then normal careful hair washing after 7 days. Yours is well on the way and looks great.
Hey Paul,, I got in the shower washed my body then got a large cup and filled it in the shower then poured it slowly on my head a couple of times,,, being super careful to pour it on my 'original' hair and let it flow into the new areas
Jeez mate, that looks like a pretty horrendous experience! The results are looking good though pal. Congratulations on the subscriber figures, really chuffed for you!
Thanks Neil,,, it was an experience I won't be rushing to go through again that's for sure! You've helped get them figures up mate with your generosity and cool watches 👏 always very much appreciated
Just recently found your channel and really enjoying it so far due to your down to earth manner. I ha e to say that your description of this procedure is sounds horrific and the photos dont look any better. Hats off to you for going through this.
Seems so much cheaper for a FUE transplant then here in the states. Also seems like the guys that have two or three procedures are the ones that have amazing results. It looks like they did a very good job on your hairline. It can take up to 2 yrs to see the truly full result. It can also take 5 to 7 yrs for the transplanted hair to match the texture of the non transplanted hair for many people. It's definitely a long process. But it's very much worth it in the end in my opinion. Hopefully you're taking finasteride and/or minoxidil to keep your existing hair. Take care.
Definitely Ian,,, it's my go to watch currently, especially on the Zealande rubber!! I'll be Just like David Ginola soon - 'because I'm worth it' (old TVad joke 😂)
Sounds absolutely horrendous mate. Think if I had been you I would of just got my hair cut shorter and shorter till almost bald. My hair went grey in my 40s now pure white in my 60’s… however if I wish I can dye it any colour I like as fortunately there is plenty of it. (I don’t by the way) Yours is looking pretty good now and a vast improvement on previous. Who knows it could all of been worth it. 😉👍
Be patient mate - had mine done 7 months ago in Budapest Hungary for £2200 - 3 day hotel stay included - wasn't kicked out into Manchester city straight after - I booked 3 weeks off work to get over the worst and kept my hair shaved No 3 till I got to 5 months. It's growing well now and they do say 12 - 15 months for full results. You did make me laugh during your video but keep the faith - it will be ok. How many hairs did you have transplanted?
it's different for everyone... I'm nearly 4 months post opp and I have significantly less hair than pre opp. Looking at yours after 5 months would be a dream for me. Guess there comes a day when I have to accept mine is a dud. Hair transplants are not without risks and are not certain by any means.
I am on my six month post op and my HT has grown long already though the density not yet good and still noticeable. Hoping that on my 8 month post op it will get thicker since as per the doctor 80% of the hairs will grow on the 8 month
Andrew, sorry to hear about all this, it seems the UK transpalant service isn't any good. Istanbul is the place to go. My best friend have just done for the second time there, very satisfied. They treated him well, good food, transport, everything. They would never let you go alone like that after the operation, where you can bascially fall down, hurt yourself. Disaster really. At least I do hope you're going to get some nice results. watch this: "Why Istanbul Is The Place to Get Your Hair Back | Surgeon Reacts"
I've just come back from Turkey 🇹🇷 for my holiday as well!! When I heard I could get it done down the road for £2k I just jumped in to be honest - if the results keep growing I'll be happy!
I didn’t do that spraying every 20 minute . 3 months in now (week out though ). And after 1 month I was playing regular sport in sunshine .. you are scaring me
At about 3 1/2 months out. Finally starting to see some growth and the redness and itchiness is pretty much gone thank god cuz it looked so terrible the last 3 months lol. Got the caffeine shampoo, biotin everyday. Topical minoxidil 3x a week and just started finasteride again 3x a week
Omg...im so glad my experience compared to this was considerably smooth. I slept after my surgery fortuntaly like a baby. After 10 days i looked totally fine again, like having a decent short hair cut. No shedding, no redness. Just the flight home from vienna was shamefull. People were staring at me at the airport.
I got a hair transplant in the Philippines Nu/hart 3000 grafts 125 pesos per graft 6 months ago very happy with my results .The pain was not that bad trip to the dentist was more painful
Thanks for sharing that’s very brave of you to take us through it. Every single man watching this will disappear into the bathroom and start examining his degree of receding. I was lucky. All the men on my Mothers side of the family were baldies from age 20. I take after my Dads side who all have a full head of hair into old age. Looks fekkin hideously painful, don’t think I’d go there. Results looking decent.
Cheers pal,,, it was a full operation in terms of how much it knocked me for six! The 3 months after hoping to god it bloody works was a really long time! It's looking positive... fingers crossed it keeps growing!
@@watchandrew the only upside of getting older is that you simply don’t care so much what you look like. Maintaining a youthful appearance is all very well but you’ll get over that.
the party starts when your natural hair starts (continues) falling off from behind. While the implanted first row of hairs (that are not sensitive to DHT) stay. So you end up looking like a 15th century frate monk.
Hey Andrew , I noticed you didn't speak about any numbness, I'm just about to reach the 3 month mark and the whole top and front part of my scalp is still numb , I had around the same procedure as you (frontal hairline) here in Australia, sounds like my experience was much better than yours as there is no way the clinic would have let me leave alone and drive home as I had to book a hotel room near the clinic and they walked me to my room with a surgical cap on through Sydney CBD and then I drove home next day (they would not let me drive the day of surgery) anyway do you have the numbness or when did the numbness dissappear?
@J7 that's good to here, hopefully that will begin to dissappear for me as well , it's the only part of the experience I struggle with, just want this numbness to go .
Had a transplant done 5 days ago. That "spraying solution" part sounds disturbing cuz I've never heard such recommendations neither at my clinic nor on YT/internet
Good video Andrew, I shave mine now but I don’t give a fuck. I don’t think I could do with hair anymore, but appreciate that it bothers some guys. Keep posting 🍺
Hello mate am 9 weeks in from from getting it done in Istanbul I didn’t no Manchester did it that cheap am from Liverpool I can relate to some of your tails there the pain is horrible we got put on a drip before as well which was a good idea I also brought sweets an drinks that contained a good bit of sugar so was nailing that throughout Also we got a stodgy meal chicken and rice it’s a long day Then head bands are to control the swelling but there a load of shite 9/10 yeah face swells anyway I use ice or cool face mask an stayed away from slaty meals. Thinking you only needed two days of work was madness haha I took a week of an it wasn’t long enough you have to be careful rest is the best recovery. Few things mate not pissing on ye party but they should have had you back the next day to remove the bandage an clean it check all is okay We got told to leave it after the first clean let it air then wash it 5 days after let it all scab then use the foam an the hair product they provide Just something else I’ve noticed why haven’t they done the hair transplant to your original hair line there is a 5mm gap all the way round ? At 8.24 I’ve got a lot of friends who have had them an done lots of research and I’ve never seen it done like that before I got my skin head an the front where I needed got mixed right in there to add to thickness Anyway good luck yeah say it how it is straight which is good for anyone who wants it doing watch videos look at different peoples ect ready about after care .
Only way to be sure of keeping your original hair is propecia. And it doesn’t work for everyone - and it’s a lifelong drug for those it does work for. Take it for sure and hopefully it works for you - if it doesn’t it’s why you see guys like Callum Best, Wayne Rooney etc having to get multiple future transplants to cover the original hair that’s continuing to recede. Receding hair won’t stop unless Drugs sort it. New Barnet looks good and will look ace in a year.
That looks amazing Andrew, I'm 52 and have tremendous hair loss it's probably to late for me but bravo to you for taking advantage of this process while your still young
@@watchandrew I have a pretty high pain threshold so for me the waiting process would drive me nuts wondering "what if" I'd be in my own head thinking, with my luck small patches would grow and look ridiculous lol my anxiety would be off the charts.
It definitely was mate,,, you are literally trying to watch hair grow on a daily, even hourly basis - it's fucking painful 🤣 every morning jumping up looking in the mirror hoping for a Kevin Keegan!!😆
2k for how many follicles? That's incredibly inexpensive. Did you search and meet with top doctors in your area? Looks like they removed all the follicles from one side, rather than distributing them throughout the back of the DHT resistant zone. Your pre-surgical photos reflected a great hairline, with only that one "triangle" area. So not sure why they removed so many follicles.
wrong. It can be very close to original density but requires multiple transplants. You cant dense pack because hairs wont survive. The vast majority of people who had hair transplant's had at least 2 procedures if not 3. That's the thing nobody talks about.....if you're thinking about getting a transplant, be prepared do need at least 2 procedures
If you go for a full doctor lead hairtransplant you dont feel a thing, anesthesia injections should not be painful at all, i feel bad hearing guys suffered from injections done brutally or unproperly . Aftercare also should be flawless and done at the clinic the first days .
Just had mine done 5 days ago. Sounds like the clinic you went to treated you like shit. But you get what you pay for. 2,000 grafts is $15K at a reputable clinic.
Anybody who would dare criticise someone else of being vain for wanting to do this is deluding themselves. The fact of the matter is if you look in a mirror to check your appearance before you leave the house, you're vain. End of conversation.
Bad methods here...i get ht 1 week ago in greece - thessaloniki almost zero pain, very fast recovery, no redness,no scars, generally very clean work all made by doctor not technicians like turkey.....i hope the end result will be fine
Really? I went through the same procedure and I could care less what anybody thought of what I locked like because I knew that patience is a virtue, and a year from now no one's going to remember me for what I looked like after the procedure they're going to remember me for what I look like now after one year and it all grows in. I don't understand why people get a hair transplant and don't let their hair grow long. Because what's the point in having it if you're going to keep it short and it looks like it's a wig. It looks more like a fake hair transplant when it's short then when you let it grow out long, to each his own 😂
